I love these chargers!
Great looking vid TJ! I'm glad Matt N. mentioned it.
Thank you! Been at this new job for about 6 weeks now and loving every minute. Slowly growing!
Looking to buy a new charger and this vid was really helpful.
Thanks so much for this.
Awesome to hear. Every newer charger video have been added to the list as well
Fantastic video! helped me to do the right choice of my charger.
thanks
Awesome!
Increíble tu análisis de los cargadores amigo y muchas gracias por activar la traducción y subtítulos mucho éxito
I’m sold sir take my money! I’ll be picking one or some of these this week I think.
Boatloads of great info here!! Thanks.
Your welcome
Good morning, Thanks for the video. It definitely help sort things out. I've got 3 chargers, 2 are Spektrum S1100 and work fine for most of my charging needs. I'm no in a hurry and like the safety. Having said that, I've moved onto bigger planes using 6s batteries. So I'm looking for a bigger charger, without the risk of overkill, overcharging. I'm thinking 200w would be an improvement. Or higher as long as it's safe. A single charger will be fine. My S1100 takes forever to charge a 6s. Thanks in advance, Kurt
I like my iCharger Duo 4010 that I just got from you guys best! :)
And that is the reason I didn't do a comparison with iCharger and iSDT ;) We love them both!
My plan is two Q8s built into a Pelican case with a Small form factor computer power supply.
Nice and tidy.
That is what I want for myself! Send pictures ;)
Wish i would've seen this before buying my first charger. Mine is great but only charges up to 4s so now i'm probably going to buy one of these 6s ones and sell my old one
Thanks for the video, I sure wish they offered the middle of the line chargers with the bluetooth feature that is a HUGE plus with the P30
I definitely agree. And honestly I would think as time progresses and they upgrade the line it will come
The fact that they put so much effort into the app means that they are definitely going to roll out bluetooth more and more. It doesnt get much better than a smartphone screen for setting up your charger.
For a discharger I use the isdt fd100 and have ordered the fd200
it would be cool if they updated the D2 to be type-C and have a removable AC supply.
I have 10 year old imax b6 and just decided to pull the trigger on q6 nano. My old b6 is ok but i cant charge my lihv to anything over 4.2v per cell so i was looking for something which will be able to do it. Q6 200w is much more than current 50w of imax and it allows to be used as dc power source. It is really nice to see how chargers progressed in 10 years. I dont like that charger can require app to function becouse it can lose compatibility with your phone so i am happy that q6 exists cheap self contained charger.
How would I charge an xk 450 charger with an xt 30 tip? With an ac wall charger? Thx fpr the video!! Im new to flying and I just bought a bunch of 3s and 2s batteries
Regarding UC4, I'm sure you can buy XT60 to USB Type-C converter/regulator.
How is the parralell adapter used? Would this mean for like a racing scenario I wanted to charge 2 2s lipo batteries I could use the iSDT Q8 charger and the parallel adaptor and it would charge 2 batteries at once or 4 of them at once? how does that work?
Hi buddy rc, what power supplies do you recommend for the isdt p30? The isdt sp3060 is a bit expensive for me though.
Is the battery output for D1 XT60? Trying to decide which adapter cable I need to charge my EC5 batteries. thank you!
I'm looking to create a storage-charging setup for my 12v and 18v tool batteries. Do any of these chargers support auto-starting of the charge cycle once the settings have been configured or do they require setting the settings every time?
ISDT have tried a bunch of interfaces with their chargers - which one do you like the most?
I heard that the touch and button interfaces are not quite as nice as the wheel interface on the older chargers, do you agree?
The older model Q6 Plus, I bought 6 of them for my RC group. After about 3 years, all 6 have darken portion on the lower part of the LCD/TFT screen! It seems to be a common problem to all the chargers of that specific model. Is this new series, Q6, Q8 suffering from the same issue?
Hey bro i have a question..
If i bought the Q8 model .. will i ever gonna need the smart battery checker? I believe the charger can work as battery checker right? And can balance the cells too..
Or is there any benefit of having the smart checker?
Which one would you recommend for me I mainly use 1s to 4s maybe go into 6s in the near future but I'm more on a cheap budget.
If It says it can charge a life battery then does it also charge lifepo4 ?
Hey mate! Love the vids!
Im new to the rc game, and only have one car; the wltoys 124019. Is the included usb charger any good, or does it ruin my battery? If so, what is a good charger on a budget, just for someone who has one car and doesnt need all the features, just needs to work. Maybe with 3S down the line
If you want a great little charger for a beginner that's cheap as hell and great, get an IMAX B6. Theres tons around, and the clones are totally safe. I bought mine 4 years ago when I first started out, and it's still going strong. For £18 it's a no brainer mate..😉
hi I had a question! condition, what is its use in this charger and why is it between 4 volts and not more for pb??? Does it show the voltage of each cell?
My Buddy! ty for sharing. needed this m8. Cheers... Hats off to you Sir...
Glad it helped
Hey Buddy can any of those chargers charge a vehicle batteries like a trickle charger ?
Thanks for the video. Could you tell me which charger would best support the Safe parallel adapter? TIA
All chargers when parallel charging have some risk.
Cho mình hỏi tóm lại trong tầm giá 45 $ thì sạc ISDT nào tốt nhất vậy
Hey bro! How did you put those litte divisors on your video timeline? I thought that just by using a _Table of Contents_ would be enough, but I tryied and did not work.... May you help me out, please? Thanks! Nice video, by the way... =)
Thanks! 😊 and the format in the description is it. Be sure to have the first one start at 0:00
So the h605air charger is does balance charge?
Great video, what decent but inexpensive power inverter would you recommend for my car for the D2 & 608AC chargers, or do I directly connect it to the vehicles battery with alligator to xt60 plug? Thanks
I run it off of my solar system in my Camping vehicle so you could use it with the battery
@@BuddyRC Awesome Thank you
very good video as always...one comment around the P30 and i have also seen others on the web making the same claim...never update firmware over bluetooth (phone) always connect via usb /pc laptop. I just did a firmware update using bluetooth as it was nagging at me continuously to use the latest FW and the charger is now as a result totally fried and says' updating firmware' on the screen and no more. Now i need to buy a new charger :(
If it gets stuck on the update screen just connect it to a computer and do the update with the app. It will fix your charger.
iSDT super fast charger at 20A is so good like 4-5 mints to charge a 11.1v 50c 5,200mAh 3s
good video
Thanks
Coming back after my D2 mark 2 shit the bed after 8 months. 🤷🏾♂️😅 D6 pro is where it's at
just had a new 608ac destroy my battery. not buying from isdt again. the screens also scratch super easily, in my case from a damp paper towel.
What's the difference between Air8 and Q8?
That colorblind feature you brought up. That’s incredibly helpful for me. I hate how amber and green are common colors for charging batteries. Having an additional thing other than color to differentiate is valuable to colorblind people like myself.
Hi TJ! Trust you are keeping safe! Can any of these chargers be used with solar panels?
I want to use a single LFR60320 3.2V 100Ah cylindrical LiFePO4 Lithium Iron Phosphate battery cell and then bump that up to 230 volt ac?
You can't directly connect them to the solar panels, but connecting the charger directly to a larger battery works just fine. But a single battery cell isn't very usefull, you would want to use a 4S (12v) or 8S (24V) LiFePO4 battery in that case.
Hey dude great video thanks for taking the time to give all the info! I am however still a bit confused on what charger to get for myself. I will be mainly using 1s to 4s batteries possibly upto 6s but further into future. I know I would like the charger to have a battery storage function and will be doing all the charging from home so a ac power input would suit me best but if cheaper all round could go with a charger and power supply.
Can I ask what you would recommend? I am leaning towards the D2 but unsure lol
K2 all day long! More powerful than d2 and newer. It's what I personally use. Check my video on it.
@@BuddyRC cheers I will take a look at that video now 👍 I appreciate your help my man 👊
@@alanclarke6418 anytime at all.
@@BuddyRC took your recommendation and ordered the k2. I would of ordered from your shop but I’m in the uk 🇬🇧 can I ask if I will need a connector adapter for charging 1s batteries?
hey man, no worries. If you share stuff to get people to our social media I'll call it even :P KIDDING! Just being able to help you make informed decisions is good enough!
The charger has the xt60 connections so just simply something to get your batteries plugged in there is good.
Any thoughts on how they compare with others? I'm kinda tied between the Q8 and the ToolkitRC m8s...almost identical in price in the UK.
Honestly I've never messed with toolkit Rc so I can't give any feedback on those.
When a DC input charger specifies a max input current, do you have to avoid using a power source that can provide more than that Amperage or are all the chargers smart enough not to draw more than that current?
No, you should even have a PSU that can provide more Amps than your charger needs. The number on the psu only says how much current the PSU can deliver, but it isn't pushing it. It's the device drawing the power (the charger in this case), that is pulling the power from the psu and one that cannot provide enought amps will overheat and could be damaged, therefore you should try to stay under 80% load. If your psu can't supply more Amps than the charger could draw, you can limit the maximum power draw in the charger.
Im new into rcing and I dont understand what half of the numbers he said signify
Just want to check something as don’t want to be killing my batteries or burning my house down 🤣
When charging, if for example I’m charging a 1500mah battery, just one battery would be 1.5amp (1c) , but in parallel if I was doing two 1500mah batteries, would I set it to 3amp as it’ll split the charge between the two, and 6amp for four batteries etc, or do I leave it still at 1.5amp? Thanks
Correct
What ac to dc adaptor can I use so I can plug into wall. And not a computer power supply unit. Can I use a laptop cord Q6.
Thanks for watching! You will need to use a 12-24v power supply with this charger. A laptop charger will not be enough wattage to run this charger. I use this one www.buddyrc.com/products/ep-buddy-900w-75a-12v-server-power-supply for my smaller batteries and for my larger 6s 5000mah packs I use www.buddyrc.com/products/buddy-rc-1800w-75a-24v-server-power-supply to get the full potential out of the charger. Hope this helps!
Can the Q8 MAX charge 4 - 6S 5000 mah batteries at 7Amps/ battery with a 12v power supply? I would be using the parallel board.
The Q8 max has a maximum input current of 33A. 33A*12V=396W. 396W/22,2V(6s)=17.8A and 396/14,8V(4s)=28,8A. If we now assume an efficency of 90% (A*0.9), we get a charging current of around 16A for 6s and 24A for 4s batteries. So you could charge 2-3 batteries at 7A in parallel.
does one need a separate power supply to power the Q8 or the P30? Sorry if you mentioned this in your video.
Yes correct
Do these chargers charge E flight smart Batteries ?? Those lipos without a balance leads.
The smart function has been disable on these chargers due to Horizon Exclusivity
I was actually in the market to replace my aging ( humongous ) Graupner Polaron EX (AC/DC) Charger with attachable (AC) PSU but apparently none of the presented ISDT devices does it all...
Only some come with OTA / APP Support, of those only a selected few can charge my up to 6'400mAh Batteries at 1C and of those none come with built in (AC) PSU thus requiring an external one.
While still needing an external PSU, the only combination I found working would set me back 500.- excl. shipping ... I don't think so ... Looks like I'll be sticking with my Polaron EX for a little longer.
Yeah the AC chargers are on the low end in power. The P30 has plenty of power but have to invest in an equally priced power supply. The p30 is also new so it at least shows the isdt is pushing into a bigger battery market.
I hadn't seen the polaron before so I looked it up and it honestly looks like a really solid charger!
@@BuddyRC The Polaron EX absolutely does what it promises but it also shows its age ( probably at least 10y old now? ) by how loud the Fans are and how unresponsive the resistive Touchscreen and UI are - Hence my desire for something sleeker - Just not at the cost of ~550.- while still making compromises -_-
The PSU definitely doesnt need to be that pricey. Running a seperate power supply makes much more sense unless you carry it around a lot.
i am doing boats but do it at home
2 batteries that can discharge and storage charge is what i need
www.buddyrc.com/collections/all-battery-chargers
Wat do you guys think off the overall reliability of the isdt chargers .
I read alot of problems.
Personally I've never had anything go wrong with any chargers from any company. Yet. As far as customer service issues we haven't experienced anything out of the normal range with isdt.
@@BuddyRC thanks good to hear .
I have a battery pack configured 13s4p. Have tried several BMS boards from China and have had nothing but failures either from the start or shortly after installation. I am looking for something like the products you are showcasing but for my configuration (13s4p). Is there one that can fit that configuration? It would be nice to be able to see what is happening to the groups of cells via Bluetooth.
🇮🇩👍🏻Great reviews
Hi, I have a question, I just bought the isdt q8 model, after the charge is complete and the screen turns blue, the amp of the device (top left) will not be zero! Is this normal ???? Because the battery is no longer added to the amp, but the device is still circulating between 0.5 and 0.3 amps !! Please help me, thank you
Correct it goes into a trickle charge
@@BuddyRC Thanks for your answer, how can I correct it ????
What's the cheapest, reliable way to charge multiple batteries at once?
One of our Paraboards will work
What is you opinion on an AC to XT60 adapter to power these chargers that require a DC power supply?
It'll go boom.
You need a DC power supply to power them. AC directly in will just ruin the chargers. And possibly start a fire if not just blow a fuse and kick a breaker. Very bad idea.
@@BuddyRC Thats what I was referring to, a DC power supply that plugs into the wall, AC, run through a converter, and then plugs into the Lipo charger. I didn't mean directly wired from the wall plug to a XT60. I guess my wording wasn't descriptive enough. I've seen some stand alone AC to DC power supplies with an XT60 connector on the output side, a company called ToolKitRC makes one. Is something like that a viable option to run these DC charger while at home and if so what sort of specs should one look for? Or are you better off just looking for a charger with it's own power supply built in if you plan on mainly using it at home?
Definitely. AC/DC chargers that offer both are typically low output power or very limited at best. A DC charger is always best if you want power output and the ability to charge faster. Therefore an external powersupply is needed. Depending on your application there are various sizes and output powers that you will need to take into account. A small 12v 20amp power supply is going to limit your charger capability. If you want to do some heavy charging like multiple large 6s packs then you'll want to bump that power supply up to the limits the charger will accept.

i have the Bluetooth one and its awesome,
YOU'RE awesome
@@BuddyRC 😂😂😂
Are the chargers also good for RC cars?
Yes
Why don't any of the ISDT models have power cycling!!
Very good question. But icharger is a great brand as well! Actually have some videos coming soon for some new stuff from them.
I do wana build a snow man 😆
heard the p20 is coming september
P10 and D1 just arrived for reviews as well ;)
Buddy RC nice, i think p20 should be like 100 dollars cheaper than the p30
P10 is another great charger
Yeah man! Going to get that video out this week
Buddy RC heck yea!
For me is the Q8 Max is best
ISDT D2 vs NHX EZPRODUO AC / DC Dual Balance Charger/Discharger..... readyyyyy go!..... anyone?
why didn't I see the ISDT AIR 8 REVIEW??
Sorry we ran out of time but we'll keep getting better at it.
@@BuddyRC Nvrmind don't waste your time it's junk, I had to buy 2 of them neither one works, horrible charger with an even worse Bluetooth option!!. I ended up buying an S6 icharger best decision I made!!
What's about isdt K2 ?
This video is older. Before that charger was a thing. I have an independent video for the k2
Ok.thank you.
Shame these charges don't come with balance board
Thanks for watching! The balance plug is built to take 2-6s no problem. They have small cut outs for the plugs that are smaller than 6s. Hope this helps!
To be honest Im more interesting and busy to charge my battery than updated the battery charger firmware
They almost look like spektrum smart chargers. I'll bet it's the same company.
It is. Spektrum just rebrands isdt. The 'smart battery' technology is out there but with other names
Shame nearly all chargers require 24V PSU to hit max power rating meanwhile a lot of us use server power supplies which are 12V, so we need to hack 2 of these to work in series, which not everyone can do.
here is ours www.buddyrc.com/products/buddy-rc-1800w-75a-24v-server-power-supply
Anyone....is there a technical explanation why iSDT has gone the road and is requiring 24 volts input to be able to charge higher cell batteries ???
My old graupner duo 50 can charge a 7s lipo from a normal 13,8 volts dc power supply....
@@kaastrup1971 It's a money saving move, and also allows for smaller chargers.
They also spec it to work from 10V and often fail to mention that higher voltage is required to reach full power rating, so a lot of people don't realise about the potential expense of having to buy a 24V supply until they already purchased the charger.
@@Arek_R. I recon that its a design think to keep the cost and size small...
The problem is that the charger will not start the charge process even tough I have selected 0.1 Amps in charge current...
I would love to see a scheme from iSDT where they would state the minimum requirements.
Or do you think that my specific charger has a fault ???
what gets me is why they can't just make a charger that shows up to 100% 🤷🏽♂️
For people like me who are colour blind i do not know why leds are not WHITE,BLUE and RED very easy to tell apart. Green, red, orange, yellow together are a night mare.
I guess you are sponsored by the company that makes the ISDT chargers...
We're a ISDT distributor in the U.S.
10 mins in and he shows the actual first proper charger. 🤦♂️
Touch screens are cancer. Selfpressing should not be an issue with devices that charge batteries.
We are just bringing more options for everyone
