Watching your video made me reminisced the experience on my first rolex. I went to all rolex store in Abu Dhabi (WTC, alwada, marina, yas, khalidiya and dubai mall) made friends with the sales agent and waited for almost 2 months just to get the batman. It was a wonderful hunt experience and all worth it. Cheers

I like the Batman of course and I bought it a few years ago. But for me it’s not a dressy watch. I wear it a lot but during the week end. I have over options with a suit during the week.

That watch will never look that good again! Those scratch so easily. Mine does. I still love it though.

There will always be haters whatever you do in life. Don`t even think about them. I own the exact watch that you just purchased and it is a significant piece from a Rolex historical point of view. The first time they have introduced Bi-colour on a ceramic bezel.
My only friendly advice is try not to flip this one if you can in the event of purchasing your next Rolex, as this will hold its value very well. Superb watch and best of luck to you.

Actually Emkwan this Rolex BLNR was my first Rolex. I've had it for two years and I cannot stop looking at my wrist with this beautiful joy! Plus, I am thinking to get another Rolex but I cannot find a similar package as this magnificent GMT II delivers. Enjoy it!

But should be able to get it cheaper than that by haggling (negotiating) and leverage (social media outreach and other factors)

The watch is gorgeous, but the cap is in very poor taste, don't use it. Never wear anything with a logo or brand name on it (other than the watch because it can't be helped). Livery is reserved for footmen.

My brother lived in Abu Dhabi and he made it out like it was some boring nightmare. This place looks like Miami, sans people. I assume there are no people outside because it is outrageously hot. From this video it looks like Abu Dhabi is totally doable, especially given the typical expat packages.
Also, that Batman is my dream watch right now (attainable grail). You are a lucky man. These are difficult to obtain in the US right now.

Congrats! It seems the Batman suits you best. And I'm sure it's not your only watch. So you are still be able to rotate a bit. For myself I'm going to stick with my 114300 because It's still the best looking and most versatile Rolex IMHO! 😉

Unbelievable I was looking for the price of an entry level oyster and remembered you had bought one once so looked for the video found it watched it, and then this vid came as a recommendation, never realised you had an explorer as well must of missed that purchase, congratulations on the new watch very very nice, great to see you are all doing well and the baby is growing up big ! ! My Oldest daughter got married last year 2 girls still at University and one boy starting his new business but still at home ! so I was only checking the prices at the moment !!! rolex are a very normal plain looking watch aren't they especially the all steel ones. I much prefer a stainless steel audemars piguet offshore that you have.

I much prefer the pre ceramic and pre maxi case rolex's they're far more classy and more understated and elegant. I find the new rolex's are bulky and really aren't nice.

Awesome timepiece! Definitely an iconic collectors watch and owned by most Rolex enthusiasts. The build quality is solid and the ceramic bezel is stunning! I owned the black version (GMT II c), it ended up being a safe queen because the polished portion of the bracelet is a scratch magnet. I eventually traded it in for a no date ceramic Sub with the brushed ss bracelet and wear it alternately with my Panerai PAM312. The Sub is better suited for daily wear or as a beater compared to the more dressy and scratch sensitive GMT II. Enjoy your new wrist candy, just make sure you avoid desk diving when wearing it. :)
I suppose you made the right choice if you find that much more value in the one watch versus owning the other 2 or waiting to be able to own all three...

You seem to enjoy the experience of buying a great watch. Thanks for letting me tag along. I think you could have enhanced the experience if you wore that dapper suit to the Rolex store. Selling the two watches in order to buy the one was a good move if it gives you the excuse to go on another excision to the Rolex dealer. Love that Batman!
