Chad I watch your videos a lot I also forge blades in your style and I can’t Waite until you put out a video😢on how you clean up your blades after heat treat you make good looking blades I also like the. Back woods look
I love the rustic look. That style of handling or I should say tang is called "trade style". It cut down on the weight for shipping, and the amount of steel used. Increasing profit. Those are gorgeous in my eyes.
Beautiful work i will have to use your tio on previous video of finishing color on antlers with tea and muzzle loader lube.... how do u get that finish on the blade?
Chad, I am new to your channel. Up until recently I haven't had a major desire to bladesmith, I have been blacksmithing for a few years tho'. For whatever reason I have been toying with the idea of trying my hand at making a knife or two and had been drawn toward possibly attempting the style of the old trade knives and patch knives. And doing some UA-cam research I came across your channel. I really like the style of blade you forge. Like you, I prefer the old woodsman/trapper/skinner style of knife. I have been enjoying your videos and look forward to applying some of your techniques.
Man, you nailed it on these! I am so glad I came across your channel and I’m glad to see you still posting. You’ve opened some doors for me on my own knife making and I’m loving this style knife. Im in Marietta, so I can’t be too terribly far from you, I think. Thanks again.
1084 is a great steel; interesting way of attaching the antlers to the tangs, too..........Thanks!
Thank you Bill!!
