Inspired by my friend @wsmithree we have created work by a small portion of the musician community. Many generations, each with their own individual perspectives and voices, all on display for the purpose of positivity and community. I’ve got so much respect for them all. Please donate to @jazzfoundationofamerica to help fund artists in need. Specials thanks to all that participated and those who were there in spirit.

I hope, somewhere in these 19 min, is Dave King just shrieking at his kit.
You call that a pushup!?!?
You mean a berembao like a Brazilian thing?

Fancy seeing you here Tom! 😆
This is fantastic for so many reasons, but one is it just massively expanded my list of musicians to check out. Thank you all!
Nice to see Lillinger in the pack
Fuckin machine
Dope !!
Sweet! Woulda loved to see Ari Hoenig's take on this one.
I'm just now discovering this and will watch again and again. This is timeless and a terrific document on musical leaders of the day.
5:32 9:32 and 14:53 YAMAHA STAGE CUSTOM BIRCH KIT!!

I was hoping there was going to be more of these as the months went by.

Great!
awesome!
Wowww🙌🏾
So driven 🥳
Killin!!!!!!
😍
THANK YOU ALL! I am a sax player but the drummers are my inspiration. This wealth of personal takes
on the theme has got me laughing with joy! Bright Moments.
Man they got everyone for this!
Lit
Such the cool idea..
Quincy ! really dig these shoes man !
THIS IS SO SICK!!!!
Thats my boys! ))
What a collection of KILLERS!.. Some of the most exciting drummers on earth, playing there, and hearing them a few seconds is often not enough... a bit rude dare I say. :)
I love the takes of Hamilton, Weiss, Harland, Gully, Calvaire, Prieto, Faulkner, cause you can hear the melody. You really can guess the song without knowing what it’s supposed to be. As somebody already posted, Ari Hoenig would be nice on it too and maybe Tyshawn Sorey would be interesting
Every drummer played beautifully. Each one a contemporary legend. Would have been nice to see a few more ladies in the mix. ACAB :)
Samuel Stroup yeah, like JD beck
why? you make the list because you are elite, not male or female...
@@Savantjazzcollectivemany more elite females that could be here but arent.
Best shred collab ever.
Sheeesh!!!
Man this vid’s got like EVERYBODY in it!
So beaut
f*cking brilliant
Why did I expect Dan Weiss sitting in some damp looking basement?
Oh baby Ted Poor's time feel. Hell yes.
ok but john riley tho... wow!
Justin Faulkner!!!!!! my god!
Quincy Davis' shoes tho 😂
Hi dear friend, where? I can't see shoes .
Now, go listen to Monk playing Evidence.
I mean you wouldn’t really get it if you didn’t listen to it beforehand. 😬
justin faulkner look probably has to do with him having a copy of "Dressing the Man: Mastering the Art of Permanent Fashion" at his side
Had no idea Dave Pensado had those chops.
What's up guys gonna show you how to make brushes sounds good. With this little plugin don't know what it's called but its purple.
jeff hamilton (1st player w/ brushes)- what kind of black panther snare is that?
Christian Lillinger!!
TED POOR LEFT FOOT ABOVE ALL
I think my phone just exploded
Couldn’t get Monks Son shame
Yo guys! I’m releasing a transcription book on Master Eric Harland this year so follow me on IG if you’re interested! Should be epic💕🥁
The "6 person" who put a dislike are definetly Casey cooper fans .
진짜 죽이는 교보재네..
thats why jazz drummers are the best- all in the wrist arms close to the body, not flashy, fat and deep in the pocket- and all on a tiny kit. these dudes can do more with a 4pc than. say, eric moore can with his overplaying ass
lol only one woman? not trying to virtue signal or go woke flex but what's going on here
yeah they should've included JD Beck
...there’s two women
@Bobafat
JD Beck is a woman?
Lol
