- Amber DRL’s are easily a favorite look of mine. In a sea of yellow drl’s I decided to try and be a bit different. Really happy with the turn out with the Horizon Motorsport Amber DRL’s. Really gave the car an even more aggressive look. Can’t wait to get this car out of hibernation!

I actually prefer the amber over the yellow, it fits the theme of the car much better in my opinion. Plus nowadays everybody does yellow drl’s. It’s like a F chassis/G chassis starter pack.

I think the amber looks more mature, for some reason like at 16:20 it appears the amber is more "crisp" and less "fuzzy" than the yellow, but that could just be the camera effect. I'm getting major DTM vibes from the amber haha.
I also think the amber does a better job of contrasting against the black housing of the Ikon lights. Great video as always, thanks for the tip on how to swap the boards.
I don’t like changing the OEM color but Amber is better.

Amber but I’m biased. The turn signals on the mirrors can be coded to stay on too. So you’ll have amber everything haha

Honestly white looks the best but if i had to decide between yellow and amber I'd take amber.

For anyone looking to do this on your car still and you want to get a set of OEM heat sinks to put the new boards on to have two working sets...
I got on eBay and found sets or singles of boards/heatsinks that have a non-working function (like bad DRL, bad turn signal; search "for parts only"). I just broke off the OEM boards, cleaned them, and put the new aftermarket boards on them.

Lighting is a very interesting topic to me. Back when I had an e92, everyone hated the yellow DRLs and everyone swapped them out to white. Fast forward to the G8X and everyone swaps out the white DRLs to yellow. Funny how things change. With respect to amber, I’m torn. I love the look of amber DRLs on trucks and in particular, I think the Bronco Raptor amber lights look incredible. Similarly, your amber lights on your truck look great. But I’m not sure amber makes sense on non trucks/SUVs. Maybe it’ll grow on me as I see them more though!
Now need to code the mirror lights to glow amber to match.

They have quite a few options available, but if you don’t see them on the website, be sure to reach out to see if they can get them for you!
Do these DRL modules work on the non-LCI headlights? All the products I look at never say which ones they work on
Yes they have a pre lci version
Sad that the normal f series have orange lights inside but the Ms don’t
Wish we had the option to change from white to the orange just like the ambient lighting!
@@Autofreakgaragehave you seen the new switch back DRL's? Goes from Amber to White with flashing the high beam lights 5 times changes the color.
I’ve seen them but those are in the rep aftermarket ikon headlights.

Stock, so the indicators are most visible. Not very many good reasons to make your indicators less visible.
