A simple and straightforward tutorial of how to tie The Truckers Hitch. The ninth in a series of films I've made teaching people how to tie useful knots.
Best demonstration I’ve found, thanks! One problem I had, however (and I’m a complete novice), was with making the figure-8 pulley loop - if I inadvertently start the loop left over right, it forms a slip knot instead of figure 8. So you might mention that detail in any future vid.
This is not a Truckers Hitch for when tightened and bound in load, the knot tightens. Extremely tight. A true Truckers Hitch when released the knot almost unravels by itself where the trucker does not struggle with undoing a very tight knot. Bogus and the presenter needs more work and talk to a trucker.
It’s called tying a slipped half hitch instead of two half hitches to finish the knot off. It’s still a truckers hitch whether you like it or not, and I doubt he is using this method for commercial work. For tying big heavy loads down you use a double shank or a beehive.

Thanks god bless
all the other truckers hitch tutorials I've seen use a slipknot for the first loop. Now I'm confused 😕
Back in the day we used to call that knot the Dutchman.

Посмотрю, как ты его потом развязывать будешь.
