Research: There is a strange air circulating in "Unbreakable", an air suspended between the parapsychological and the genre film, which voluntarily disregards the rules of the latter and does not worry too much about the logic and credibility of the "fantastic" plot (and this is probably its biggest flaw). Something is missing compared to the stringent, unassailable structure of "The Sixth Sense". It almost seems that the curious and stimulating idea that underlies the film, the contrast between two characters who find themselves at opposite poles of physical efficiency, was blocked in the bud, that the director and screenwriter did not expand it until to the truly tormenting depths to which he could reach. Therefore, the central part of the film ends up turning on itself, with surreal memories of Terry Gilliam (the scene in the station). And the slowness, which is one of Shyamalan's strengths, risks becoming a flaw in the narrative structure.
