- Back in my college summer days of 2016 flying co-pilot on a DC-3. This was a charter for one of the many radar stations the Air Force operates around Alaska.
PASV has a runway gradient of +4.8% upslope!

I was stationed here 1972-1973
"Hey Airman, I heard you're a loner who's fond of winter?"
I'm fascinated by runways that would never, ever have been built except that they absolutely have to service some critical industry in the middle of totally impassible terrain. The airstrip at Sparrevohn is a great example, since the Cold War military was the single biggest "critical industry" ever.
If you presented such a runway plan to a civilian they'd have you dragged out of the building in a straitjacket. But the Cold War US Air Force? "Looks fine, get it done!"
I spent 66 into 67 here not my favorite place to be
"successful go around improbable"
Only if you descend below the MAP. Stay above it and you are fine.
@@jaycee330 .If you want to get down on the ground, sooner of later you have to... get down on the ground. My comment was a direct quote from the FAA approach plate
It was'nt a DC-3 At all maybe a caravan cessna?
