@@Orchardpeople well susan I've got my whole back yard/ front yard / side yard orchard project completely mulched like tom would say we mulched the entire project 30 trees 40 yards of mulch it's a foot deep cuz I planted my trees on hills a foot high off the ground I'm so excited it soooooooo nice 🙂
Isn’t it a chemical that is produced by the walnut roots that affect the apples? I heard that the apple tree should be at least 100ft from any English walnut (don’t think the black walnut has the same affect).

Yes sadly the roots exude the chemical too and Black walnuts are also a problem!
@@Orchardpeople Also, we had issues with our black walnut’s fruit being poisonous to the plantings near them.
