A likely bug in S24 Ultra USB-C audio: tapping Media Output, plugging in a usb-c wired headphone, the headphone option shows up, select it, then about 2-3 seconds later the option disappears and This Phone option is reselected. In my experience, the S24 does not recognize the usb-c headphone if it's already plugged in and you start a video... audio comes from phone, not headphone. But, unplugging and re-plugging the headphones gets sound from headphones... unless you unplug them again. Similarly, UHQ Upscaler becomes selectable after plugging in a usb-c headphone, but 2-3 seconds later the option automatically turns off, because the usb-c device disconnects. Not right.
I have a quick question, does s24 ultra have a built-in DAC? Because I want to use a passive type c to 3.5mm jack adapter (likes of one plus adapter) since I don't wanna loose any quality, different sources disagree on if s24U has a built in DAC or not ?? Is it possible to use my headphones in a passive way as I've mentioned above?? Thanks in advance.
Yes, it has an internal DAC, but that is just for audio going to the external speakers. The phone will do its own processing of digital audio signals before it sends it out to an external USB or Bluetooth DAC. So you won't get "pure from source" audio with this phone... no matter what external DAC you use. And the S24 Ultra's internal digital audio processing is horrible. My 6 year old Note 9 does a far better job. S24 Ultra does something to audio that makes it sound thinner, harsher and brighter than it should. You also lose a bit of punch. Many people have complained about this... including myself. The only way to get "pure from source" audio on this phone, is to use an app called "USB Audio Player Pro" or UAPP. It costs about £7/$8 though, and can be buggy at times. You will only get "pure from source" audio from audio played directly through the app, so youtube and other app audio is out. You can play Tidal and Qobuz through it though, but you won't get all the features you would get directly from Tidal or Qobuz's apps. So you'll get source audio via UAPP's app from internal files/music, and streaming apps Tidal and Qobuz... that's it. Hope this helps. I wish I knew this info before I went out and bought the S24U. I would look at other phones if hifi audio is important to you. Maybe the Sony Xperia 1 VI?
Great tips. Knew a few things but discovered other features. Best one for me was installing Sound Assistant to have a granular control of sound volume (by small increments of 1 instead of 10).
Hi Ryan. I liked your video and I have subscribed to your channel. Now I have a question for you and I hoping you will give me a true answer. In my experience of owning several samsung smartphones i was very diligent in upgrading the software each time it was announced. However, I noticed that by keeping my phone upgraded eventually it became problematic over time until it became unusable. Now that I have the s21 ultra for almost 3 years I have chosen not to upgrade ....and my phone has been trouble free. Now many people say to me....I must in order to receive the security patches that are sent out. But since I have a paid anti virus installed on my devices I think that is not an issue. Plus the fact that the upgrades uses alot of internal storage space. So....what do you say/advise etc????
TLDR; Yes, I would keep my phone up-to-date. Samsung tests their new updates on their older phones. In order to preserve an old building or house, you must take care of it overtime. There might be some holes and cracks that need to be patched up or to keep it more useful and modern a redesign of some of its parts or look might be needed. Now of course that might change the original look and feel. And about the antivirus, let's say you have reinforced the structure of the building, but one day the architect or builder himself (Samsung) comes and says, there is a big flaw in the design and despite your reinforcement (the antivirus) at any point the whole building might collapse. And he offers to fix it for you for free. Would you say no?
Using screen mirroring I get a loss in volume on my stereo. Using the s22 ultra I had to lower the volume on the stereo. Any ideas to increase the volume on screen mirroring?
Thanks for the video really informative

6:20 which app ?
Timestamps and more details would have helped more
Are there any options to remove the 'increasing/rising volume' mode when the phone rings ??
Thank you!

Thanks, 1.6k views and 51 likes?! Guys come on, hit that button!
Holding the mic is a tough job
Not as tough as trolling on the internet.
UHQ is trash. You can't "upscale" audio. You can't add something that was never there to start with. Don't fall for this bs.
My s22 ultra is louder then my s24 ultra and have the same settings
👍
Only abou sound
Please take the mic away from your mic. The smacking of your lips is annoying.
