    Did a great job of turning a so-so kit into something better; lighting always adds that extra wow factor.

    Very nice build! I like it.
    I have started my 1:1000 Enterprise to day. My Modelkit is the first release of the PL Enterprise without a Botany Bay. I bought it over 10 Years ago.
    Never to late to start Modeling. 🙂
    Regards from Bavaria.

    🖖😎🖖Very cool and very nicely and well done and a very spectacular job of what you did with putting her all together and lighting her up indeed, And and I myself own a few of these kits I just haven't gotten around to putting them together yet due that I am working on something else at the moment!.

      Some of the decals were fine...but some just feel apart.

    Great build! I have one of these on the way and it’ll be my third model to build, and second they’ll be lighted. I’m buying parts to get prepared for the build and I was wanting to ask what size red and green LED’s you used for the saucer and what do I need to get them to blink like yours?
    Also, how did you do your lighted bussard collectors to get them to flash? Any help would be very much appreciated! Thanks!!

    The wire gauge looked a bit big - at least with insulation. An old Ethernet cable has several thin insulated wires. Saves some time when you only need a few feet - provided the load capacity is fine.
    And if you strip them they can be used as model material.

      Ive used old telephone cable in the past, that was just what I had on hand at the time.

    I started building this kit a few years ago. For the life of me, I could not get the warp nacelles to fit properly. It's quite possible that I did something wrong. I still have it and maybe I can give it another shot in my new place.

    • @EagleSciFiModeler
      @EagleSciFiModeler  2 роки тому +1

      Yeah, it's really tricky to get them on straight.

    • @Loneman_OG
      @Loneman_OG 2 роки тому +4

      Maybe they didn't fit properly because they were... _warped._ Geddit? _Warped_ warp nacelles?
      I'll get my coat.
      Taxi for Loneman?

      @@Loneman_OG Ironically, the nacelles are MAYBE where Revell did their 18-19 inch Enterprise kit better than Polar Lights or AMT. It seemed to me they engineered that kit better than AMT did theirs but the problems is all the crap detail Revell added to make their model distinctly different.
      The Revell TOS Enterprise is inaccurate as HELL in so many place that it's harder to accuratize that one EVER. Way too deep of incised lines all over that model (nacelles, saucer, engineering) and the bottom of the saucer is very inaccurate and would be difficult to accuratize as well.
      Out of the box, the Polar Lights Enterprise kits (1/1000 and 1/350) are the most accurate kits on the market.
      If you can get it to work for you, the 1/1000 kit is the best deal out there with all the parts to build every version of the Enterprise in the 1960s out there as well as decals for the Pilot Versions, the Production version, and the alternate universe ISS Enterprise. No other Star Trek kit gives you as much out of the box.
      Oh, and the newer release of the 1/1000 kit also throws in Khan's Botany Bay for free!

    You did a nice job. On that you would choose this model. You do not seem to be a fan of subject. This makes it an odd choice but you did a great job and I appreciate it thank you I am physically unable to to do what you did

    To get the 1/650 scale to be accurate and look good is more work than the 1/350 scale.

    Gee, I thought I was the only person that made that mistake an the nacelle. Way too much sanding as well. I used an arduino mini and 6 SMD’s to get the original effects in the nacelles. Nice build! Model on!

      @@EagleSciFiModeler me too! I had the saucer section lit, but the led shorted out after I had the saucer glued together, so now I only have the nav lights working along with the nacelles. Model on! P.S. I have another of this kit, Michael’s had it on clearance for $17 CDN!

    You can use 0805 smd's which are small enough but they will give off plenty of light for a 1000 scale model like the one you are building

    • @EagleSciFiModeler
      @EagleSciFiModeler  2 роки тому +1

      Yeah, I need to invest in some for these smaller kits.

      Evan's lighting has a great selection of led and smd's and nano lighting I get them from there and they won't break thr bank on you either plus fast shipping.

  • @AvengerII
    @AvengerII 2 роки тому +2

    It's a nice modelling kit.
    Interesting choice to include second pilot details. The nacelle cap ends (the vents are only in the second pilot version) were obvious to me but you also put on the top of the saucer docking clamp decals? You only see this detail of the Second Pilot Enterprise when it's escaping the galactic barrier in Where No Man Has Gone Before. That clip is not in the CG/Remastered version of the Second Pilot which I thought was a shame!
    There are model shots from the original versions of the Pilots that are better than the Remastered/HD versions.
    I always felt the opening sequence shot with the model whizzing by worked out better than the CG version. For some reason, they never got the speed quite right in the remastered opening credits.
    The paint job came out nice. I think there's something to be said for a "cleaner paint job" on the Enterprise as opposed to weathering. I noticed the weathering comes out too harsh in many paint jobs including the prepainted 1/350 release. All those 1/350 prepainted models are sold out now!

      This one became a hodge podge of all the versions and was plagued with mistakes... hopefully the next one will be better.

    Video critique. You need to put the camera further away and zoom in to that area - but not so close. Most of your video was out of focus because the objects were too close to the camera.
