    I have dealt with a narcissistic, abusive ex and I can honestly say I wouldn't wish a narcissistic parent upon anyone. My ex had a narcissistic parent themselves and they started behaving in exactly the same way as that parent. Because they were abused in such an awful way, they themselves now think it's justified to perpetuate abuse. It's very sad.
    Don't get me wrong: I'm not claiming all narcissistic people are monsters, as some do seek help and try to work on themselves, but there are people like my ex who are proud of their ways and don't want to change. I'm sending hugs to all children of narcissistic parents and abusive parents in general.

    My mother is a textbook narcissist. She can say some of the meanest, nastiest things, & has absolutely zero compassion, sympathy, or empathy for anybody. Everything is about her. If you dare be upset over anything, she gets angry at you, & says that worrying about you is making HER ill, so you need to pull yourself together. 😂 I’ve never felt comforted by my mum in my entire life, & my sister & I were made to feel like a chore to her. It’s taken me until I’m in my mid 30s to understand that it’s her issues, & not about us being unloveable.

    I was married to a narcissist , they will NEVER apologize, because they’re never wrong! You’re right, you need to realize that making yourself happy and taking away their power is the only way to feel better

    Oh my goodness I’m in tears ! I’ve been waiting years for someone in my family who has abused me throughout my childhood and early teens to finally apologize to me so I can move past it ..what both of you said is so TRUE! I’m just giving him power ! And Rosie complementing Rose . I’m so sorry Rosie for everything you’ve been through ..I get it but you are thriving ! ❤️ I hope I can get to your mentality some day ❤️

    as someone who grew up with a narcissistic parent, it’s really hard. the things you get blamed for, or flaws that get projected onto you, all in the name of “only wanting the best for you”...it really, really impacts your self esteem.
    very interested to hear what you guys have to say on this topic.

    Woah. I used to watch every single video back in the day in high school when i was placed in foster care with an abusive narcissist family member, and as i was figuring out my own sexuality. Yall represented a happy, loving relationship. I thought i had that in college, and when thst didnt work out i felt too sad watching new rose and rosie videos.😞 But here i am, and yall are still as funny and amazing 😍 still goals!

    Both my parents, but especially my mother, were narcissistic and abusive. (My two younger siblings agree.) Not only has my mother an inflated sense of her social standing, but she's never apologised for anything. Ever. Not once. In 67 years of life. Because she's never, ever wrong.

    I absolutely despise the saying hurt ppl hurt ppl. And it is because I’m hurt more than a lot of ppl and I’m not mean to anyone but myself. I try my hardest to see all sides of things even my opposite core beliefs. Just because u r hurt does not mean u should hurt other ppl. I’ve been abused in every form more than once more than twice even and I’d never ever make someone feel the way I felt. It’s an excuse

    • @Steertanzer
      @Steertanzer Рік тому +3

      It's not always something one is aware of though. You can hurt someone due to a lack of boundaries for example, without having any ill intentions.
      + The saying doesn't say ALL people hurt people. I also think it can be taken as "People who hurt others have often been hurt before" (For example, NPD is thought to be a result of early childhood trauma afaik), rather than "EVERYONE who has been hurt by someone WILL hurt others". Like, it may not go both ways or be a 100% black or white thing.

    • @cleosworld9096
      @cleosworld9096 Рік тому +3

      @@Steertanzer oh yes I 1000% agree with u. Nothing is black and white. There’s always room for gray yellow and purple😂 however as I’m sure u r aware there are so many ppl who just take the saying for wat it says literally. I also should have specified that I’m far from perfect. I’ve hurt ppl in my past but nowhere near the type of hurt that these ppl do. I mean im a recovering addict I was never out on streets just doing stuff like unfortunately other addicts have had to be but I was not perfect. I cheated on so called boyfriends before the age of 16 but then I had my first real long term bf and never cheated again in life. We are all human we make mistakes. I just think ppl use the saying as kind of an excuse sometimes. I was hurting so I cheated but then goes and cheats again and never learns. Am I making sense? Lol ok im done rambling

    • @Steertanzer
      @Steertanzer Рік тому +1

      @@cleosworld9096 Ah, okay. I don't think I've heard it used as an excuse, but from that perspective it totally makes sense, what you're saying.

    Las amo! Estuve en pareja 18 años con un perverso narcisista (soy lenta para aprender, jajaja)y lo que es peor, tuve una hija con él. Ella es mi vida, pero su padre la destruyó psicológicamente y hoy ambas estamos en tratamiento, pero como dijo Rose, dejé de esperar su aprobación y me puse primera en prioridad para poder salvarme y salvar a mi hija de él. Las abrazo desde Argentina!

    I am so over this terminology. If you don't like someone, if you do not agree with someone, if you have different opinions, values, beliefs.... etc etc it doesn't make the person a narsicist. Just means they are not the friend or partner for you. Say goodbye and move on.
