There couldnt be a better match up for this 2. Don't why but I love this lines 35:10-29:35 & 32:13-32:18. They were more similar than I originaly thought, but I have some disagreemants. Lupin having trouble with a magician/illusionist was in the 2nd episode of the 1st series, so it's a bit unfair to judge him just by that performance. Its weird how the video mentions the OVA Return of the Magician, but not any of the trickery Lupin pulled off on a more smarter/powerful Pycal were presented here. At the start, a couple of stage performers could instanstly change clothes in front of a huge crowd. Lupin gets them naked, writes his name all over them, steals a fake wine and appears far away with no one noticing him. He could turn knives thrown at him into flowers, poofs them away, pulls small objects from thin air & after falling from a cliff to the sea, he tricks Pycol by switching with a dummy while the real deal appeared elsewhere to ambush Pycal in his hang glider. Pycol burns him to ashes and he suprises everyone by appearing behind him. Lupin later also does some wierd teleporting. Lupin notes that Pycol(with a perfect Zenigata disguise) wasn't the real inspector by his scent and eyes. In Goodbye Partner he says it's easy from him to see thru disguises. Teleportation isn't that much of problem since Lupin himself has performed the disappearing act while being chased no less. Even Fujiko can pull off that trick. 7:16 he doesn't need fish to regain his intelligence, he can do that on his own. As for being useful in a fight, he might have used this trick to cancel Mad Monk Rasputin's mind reading in the From Russia With Love Movie. 8:58 I wouldn't excatly call it outsmarting her(Everything he told her was true & she might not even be that smart outside of robotics to begin with), tho it's a good show on him being able to use other people's emocions & sensibilities to his atvantage. You discredit Lupin's rocket car because it's from Part 5 opening, OK. But why do you count Kid's blue fireball from MK intro too or Gadget tanking a bomb from his 1st intro count in his MM with Robocop? Also why game feats only for Kaito? Kid recovered that fast from a bullet shot since it hit his arm while Lupin needed help as he got shot in the back where more vital parts of the body can get hurt. Him getting horrible burns was a)from Part 1, b)caused by a special chemmical he made. a)His durability has improved over time like surviving high voltage electrocution, tanking big explosion(both of these produce lots of heat). b)Normal fire from flamethrowwers didn't hurt him as much in Part 1, 2 nor the huge fires in Cagliostro. Also one of his suits is fireproof in the manga. Wouldnt Lupin have a speed advantage for dodging lasers? His shoegun might suprise Kid. Didn't Kid shot his girlfried with that cardgun without her getting injured(hmm, maybe he has an option that makes his gun harmless)? Getting arrested for Lupin ain't really a weakness. He doesn't have much to lose from that & will bust out of there anyway. That's why Jigen stopped Fujiko from freeing Lupin in Part 1 & nobody tried to help bust him in Part 4. Him getting in prison can be part of his plan like in Farewell Nostradamus where he got intentionally arrested just get some info from another thief captured. Kaito on the other hand has a secret identity to protect so he can't afford getting arrested. Kid doesn't always work alone; sometimes he needs his father's assistant to pull off some stuns & Connan(on a few occasions might help him). Lupin has done plenty of solo work too, but i'll admit he does work with others more often than Kid. The ability/intelligence scaling for Kid is bit strange as point. He has tricked Connan, but sometimes Connan can see thru him too like he did with Lupin(detective connan ep219 & magic kaito 1412 ep16 are good examples). Other masterminds, a robot & even Zenigata have predicted Lupin's moves before. Did that make them smarter him or take the W? Not really, he's still made tham look like fools. Only because a secret agent chick sneaked on Lupin, it doesn't mean Kid can do it just as easily since they have different types of training, Lupin has crazy senses and the fact that he leaves his guard more open with women. Unlike Katio(having his gadgets made ready by a certain professor), Lupin makes good amount of his own by himself. Lupin in the beginning of the crossover didn't really need to make a perfect Kid impersonation since that heist was pretty easy and he also knew that Kaito was still a student. As the video says, this is very close (even with the stuff I mentioned). I learned some stuff I didn't know for both characters and enjoyed the video, pretty good job!

I’m not sure if I agree with the conclusion, you seemed to forget that lupin did doge light lasers (which you mentioned in the analysis) which is 3000x faster than lightning so I’m not sure if I agree, intelligence and slightly better gear won’t be helpful against someone who you literally can’t even touch your opponent, if there’s some sort of reason to why you didn’t use this, please let me know. Also I don’t think that the fact cards can Pearce metal mean he can pearce lupin’s bullets, as it only goes through a small amount of metal,to it would just stop lupins bullets from moving while also stopping his own card guns

Tbh, laser dodging seems like an outlier, and it still is just reaction speed. Also, considering how other characters that kid scales too have captured/outpaced Lupin, it shouldn't be a deciding factor

I think Kid absolutely does deserve the win in a straight one-on-one, but Lupin's never alone. If this ever gets a rematch with Jigen, Goemon, hell even Zenigata can get in on the action since, as demonstrated, he's never too far away from chasing Lupin wherever he goes. Even VS shows. But without an equivalent for Kaito, I think that'd be too unfair... still would be a fun watch though.
For Me, Lupin gets the winner Why Kaito's 400 IQ is questionable and ridiculous Lupin III 300 iq is quite right because he can make his own and better gadgets (Even kaito's gadgets) and his incredible hacking skills. He even possessed on Encyclopedia/ Science/ Mathematics and he even remember his enemies and their skills/ weakness even for a long time. Solve the hardest riddle/ ancient puzzle in a quickest time. He's also very good at solving crime scenes at the hardest. He can manage to survive at war-zones and others. He can even escape at the hardest and most secured prison with no worries (even without his gangs help). At the modern time, he can also detect and knowing kaito kids personalities by his gadgets and hacking skills. Also Lupin and his era are way too classic, as you can see in part V in the modern era, he can also make his own hacking device that can hack in any securities. Also he doesn't need any kinds of ridiculous vehicle because his skills are enough to escape them. Dont forget Zenigata is a pretty skilled/ intelligent person that's why some of his heist are failing sometimes. Also all of his enemies are way too skilled than him but he still manage them by his intelligence by analyzing/ knowing their skills in a just a moment. And he can dodge any lasers/ gunfires due to his reflexes. Also Lupin III uses misdirection, it's a classic way of invisibility so that's why some of the people doesn't know him well. And also feared by the world, even some of the unions declared a ww3 just for him, but he's still alive by his intelligent and knowing his skills. And experiences of course. He can also do magic and doesn't have any weaknesses because is fully aware and his sense are high. One of the episode of Part II that there was a assassinate girl who wants to kill Lupin but she didn't because of his sense and reflexes are way too good. And that time that he hurt through fire because he didn't know tha formula and secret of Pycal's magics but later on he discover and also make his own magic. Same as the OVA of "Return of the magician".
Kids IQ isn't that dar fetched. He's outsmarted Lupin in their canon crossover and frequently outplays Conan, who also outsmarted Lupin. There's a reason Kaito has never been arrested and Lupin has multiple times. As for magic, Lupin did beat Pycal eventually, but on their first encounter, he was outmatched and beaten pretty easily. Since he didn't even know Kid used a card gun, a fact literally EVERYONE ELSE KNEW, it's likely that Kaitos' other tricks would overwhelm him. I admit, Lupin should be faster via his laser and light beam dodging, but otherwise Kaito should still win more often than not.

Lupin's been in more dire situations than Kid which could lead for Lupin getting caught, sometimes Lupin just does on purpose knowing he's easily going to break out. And I don't think you can overwhelm Lupin with anything knowing that he's faced immortals, aliens, angels, time-travelers, giant robots, and even the daughter of God...
I think this matchup should be re-examined,the analysis can be seen that the list of kid's feats is more exhaustive than that of Lupin, and ignores many Lupin's feats,for example, Lupin once replaced the bullet in the opponent's pistol at the moment of fighting with someone, or he once survived near a small black hole at extremely close range. Also, as another comment pointed out, the trade-offs for the two characters' respective feats are not consistent.Lupin's feat of dodging lasers isn't admitted as a speed advantage, but at least he's done the same thing a couple of times, and Kid's fight with Yaiba is more of an outlier,don't forget that in the Detective Conan series where he gets far more performances, he is clearly at a disadvantage in fights against Kyogoku Makoto who can't even break pillar with one hit and dodge rifle bullet easily.
No its not, when it comes to Lupin III manga (Even in anime) Lupin is way more OP that can even kill Kaito in just a seconds without hesitation if he gets mad or something bad happens

I think Kid absolutely does deserve the win in a straight one-on-one, but Lupin's never alone. If this ever gets a rematch with Jigen, Goemon, hell even Zenigata can get in on the action since, as demonstrated, he's never too far away from chasing Lupin wherever he goes. Even VS shows. But without an equivalent for Kaito, I think that'd be too unfair... still would be a fun watch though.

Kaito's 400 IQ is questionable and ridiculous
Lupin III 300 iq is quite right because he can make his own and better gadgets (Even kaito's gadgets) and his incredible hacking skills. He even possessed on Encyclopedia/ Science/ Mathematics and he even remember his enemies and their skills/ weakness even for a long time. Solve the hardest riddle/ ancient puzzle in a quickest time. He's also very good at solving crime scenes at the hardest. He can manage to survive at war-zones and others. He can even escape at the hardest and most secured prison with no worries (even without his gangs help). At the modern time, he can also detect and knowing kaito kids personalities by his gadgets and hacking skills. Also Lupin and his era are way too classic, as you can see in part V in the modern era, he can also make his own hacking device that can hack in any securities. Also he doesn't need any kinds of ridiculous vehicle because his skills are enough to escape them. Dont forget Zenigata is a pretty skilled/ intelligent person that's why some of his heist are failing sometimes. Also all of his enemies are way too skilled than him but he still manage them by his intelligence by analyzing/ knowing their skills in a just a moment. And he can dodge any lasers/ gunfires due to his reflexes.
Also Lupin III uses misdirection, it's a classic way of invisibility so that's why some of the people doesn't know him well.
And also feared by the world, even some of the unions declared a ww3 just for him, but he's still alive by his intelligent and knowing his skills. And experiences of course.
He can also do magic and doesn't have any weaknesses because is fully aware and his sense are high. One of the episode of Part II that there was a assassinate girl who wants to kill Lupin but she didn't because of his sense and reflexes are way too good.
And that time that he hurt through fire because he didn't know tha formula and secret of Pycal's magics but later on he discover and also make his own magic. Same as the OVA of "Return of the magician".
Kids IQ isn't that dar fetched. He's outsmarted Lupin in their canon crossover and frequently outplays Conan, who also outsmarted Lupin. There's a reason Kaito has never been arrested and Lupin has multiple times. As for magic, Lupin did beat Pycal eventually, but on their first encounter, he was outmatched and beaten pretty easily. Since he didn't even know Kid used a card gun, a fact literally EVERYONE ELSE KNEW, it's likely that Kaitos' other tricks would overwhelm him. I admit, Lupin should be faster via his laser and light beam dodging, but otherwise Kaito should still win more often than not.
@@masedaace5473 Technically Kid stole the treasure first before Lupin which is not "outsmarting." Lupin's been in more dire situations than Kid which could lead for Lupin getting caught, sometimes Lupin just does on purpose knowing he's easily going to break out. And I don't think you can overwhelm Lupin with anything knowing that he's faced immortals, aliens, angels, time-travelers, giant robots, and even the daughter of God...

I think this matchup should be re-examined,the analysis can be seen that the list of kid's feats is more exhaustive than that of Lupin, and ignores many Lupin's feats,for example, Lupin once replaced the bullet in the opponent's pistol at the moment of fighting with someone, or he once survived near a small black hole at extremely close range.
Also, as another comment pointed out, the trade-offs for the two characters' respective feats are not consistent.Lupin's feat of dodging lasers isn't admitted as a speed advantage, but at least he's done the same thing a couple of times, and Kid's fight with Yaiba is more of an outlier,don't forget that in the Detective Conan series where he gets far more performances, he is clearly at a disadvantage in fights against Kyogoku Makoto who can't even break pillar with one hit and dodge rifle bullet easily.
