Thanks :-)! We don't use the horses' manure for our vegetable garden because it's full of weed seeds, and we like to keep the garden as easy-to-handle as possible, considering we're both not really die-hard gardeners ;-).
I did my vegetable garden on pure worm compost from horse manure. I collect and cover it with a plastic sheet. Fermentation starts and all the seeds die. After fermentation the red wiggler will transform it into worm humus which is the best for the plants and you don't need to by humus in the garden center.
Sounds great Sibylle! I think we all have to set our own priorities and since there's already a LOT of work to do on a few hectares of property with six horses, there are some things that we just buy ;-). But I admire all the things you do and your endless creativity!

We do use the composted horse manure for our pasture though (which is already full of weeds, so it doesn't really matter).
