Shivkumar Sharma and Hariprasad Chaurasia - The Valley Recalls

  • Опубліковано 29 сер 2024
  • This performance is a sequel to a blockbuster Call Of The Valley album released in 1967 by EMI. The maturing of Sharma and Chaurasia is visible in their presentation of their music and despite a huge gap since their previous duet, the clear fusing of their minds and music is simply magical! It is as natural and seamless as one could possibly imagine! Hearing this concert on a CD gave one flutters but to see it being performed visually makes one fully realise what an incredible performance this is! Apart from the pedigree, it is better to identify The Valley Recalls more as iconic in its own right rather than a sequel, per se, to what in the 1960s was a mould breaking effort to bring classical music in an idiom more widely acceptable and enjoyable.

what a beauty ! Twenty years behind- as a budding listener and humble, I spent my available fortunes buying a music India cassette and played and played. The chronograph of time has never passed through, it transcends the same emotion ,rather a layer more , at the absolute divinity of the geniuses . A marvel for life.

My brother and I bought 24 years ago, the original "Call of the Valley" cassette....never forget those wonderful days discovering Hariji, Shiv, Bismillah Khan, everybody really, including the Mishra Bros....we're still on the transcendent journey...Peace.

With this music I can close my eyes and easily pretend to be a feather floating around in a green meadow somewhere taking me where the breeze wants to take me. Never putting me down but keeping me afloat in perfect equillibrium where divinity and nature meet. Thank you for this.

It was a blessing... a joy to have known you Masters of the masters of the wonderful Santoor...and the Indian flute...
Listening to two great Indian classical music played was the delight of my long night walks, when I listened both...
Today you left us physically great Master Pt.Shivkumarji but your Santoor continues to "sing" ad eternum here on earth, to remind us of the divinity that dwells in us
The birds here on earth will miss you.... 🏹🕊️🥀
The Angels will rejoice in Heaven... 🥀🥀🥀
Receive my hug full of gratitude 🙏🏽🙏🏽🙏🏽

Music, dance and art cut across 3Cs3RsL (pronounced ' threeceesthreearsel ' ) i.e. caste, colour, creed, religion, region, race and language. All of them from time immemorial have been used by mankind to experience, rejoice, enjoy in addition to their inherent and constituting elements of soothing the mind and the heart, the subtle parts of the human body.

A POLITE CORRECTION: THE INTRODUCTORY SPEECH FOR THE LP "CALL OF THE VALEY" WAS INCOMPLETE. THE RECORDING INVOLVED THREE PRIME VIRTUOSOS: SANTOOR,(PANDIT SHIV KUMAR SHARMA); FLUTE (PANDIT HARI PRASAD CHAURASIA) AND GUITAR (PANDIT BRIJ BHUSHAN KABRA), BESIDES THE RHYTHM-MAESTRO (NAME?) AND OTHER MUSICIANS (NAMES?). WAS IT NOT PUBLISHED IN 1965? THIS IS TO COMPLIMENT THE ESSENTIAL CREATORS OF THE IMMORTAL PIECES OF MUSIC IN THT LP. .
