Rest in Peace Jean-François Paillard. 2005 till 2010 we used to play musique at his home in St.Auban s/l'Ouvèze in the Haute-Provence.- And Jean-Joseph Mouret was a wonderful Barock-Musicien!
This is a wonderful version. Pace just correct and a wonderful tone with the trumpets at the right place in the ensemble. I doubt that there is a better version. Mouret, I am sure, would be proud of his creation.
I had the NONESUCH LP before MASTERPIECE THEATRE came to Puerto Rico, so it was a thrill to recognize the opening tune, and it's an even greater thrill to have the complete suite once again.
I just love this magnificent rendition. Thank you so very much for sharing.
condedetrevino THanks for writing, my pleasure. david
I always loved listening to this when I was younger
I owned this record! Maurice Andre was just so incredible on it!!!
Just wonderfull
Interesting to hear this, I haven't heard it since I wore out my LP over 30 years ago. The sound of the Selmer piccolo Trumpet is a contrast to the natural trumpet used in modern "historical" instruments used today.
Rest in Peace Maurice Andre

PAILLARD CHAMBER ORCHESTRA,1963 FANFARES FOR TRUMPETS-MAURICE ANDRÉ Eternel grandiose merci pour la video
Lovely piece of music.
I can never understand how a towering landmark recording with over twenty thousand views gets only a hundred likes. Are people so inhibited or noncommittal? The one dislike I would imagine is accidental or the result of tone deafness.
ascenbach1 Lots of folks are stuck at the spectator level. Good for you for not being!
MsBluebird777 I agree. UA-cam should not be a passive medium like watching TV or sitting through a movie. UA-cam is an opportunity for exchanges of ideas and thoughts. Comments can be a valuable source of knowledge and information (Hopefully, not misinformation).
they must have voted for trump
@@ascenbach1 YouTubr is the stalwart and stable rock that lovers of true art and music can cling to in this era, swept by the tsunamis of (c)rap and other vile frorms of cultural desecration.
@@captebbtide Truer words have never been spoken. Thank you.
One of my favorite baroque musics since school days - There is another LP recording under Achieve/Gramophone
Thank you for sharing this. Love it!
thank you for sharing this!
Shelli Fitzpatrick My pleasure! Thanks for writing, david
If memory serves correctly, Paillard's version was the most famous and the one that Masterpiece Theatre adapted for their show.
I remember watching little Einstein's this was my favorite piece in the whole show combined. Coudnt find it because i just listened it on the episode.
thanks
A glorious and fantastic piece of composition.
I MUST track down this LP or CD.
Happy birthday
Superb. It would be great to hear also the 2nd symphony (with horns).
Classy choice mr. David Herzberg, thank you.
Would you be able to introduce another very elegant french music played also by Jean-Francois Paillard orch...*FRANCOIS FRANCOEUR...>FESTIN ROYAL EN LA GALLERIE DES GLACES. I am looking for this music for a long time, the Hugo Reyne orch. lacks the sense of refinement - it must be Monsieur PAILLARD who makes the Difference.
Another highly impressive piece!!!!
Excellent ~ thank you *davidhertzberg* :o)
RIP Mrs. Bridges, Mr. Hudson, and poor James Bellamy
Maurice Andre :-)
Is the album by any chance "Music for the King's Supper"?
Oops -- never mind. (Helps to look at the video!)
Sir Topham Hatt's Monologue brought me here
I think this music was was theme from Masterpiece Theater.
Sean Mountjoy Yes, it was. See all comments and replies regarding this piece.
Sounds like I’m getting ready for an episode of Masterpiece Theatre
very well played but simply not enough trumpet trill (in rondeau) in my opinion :)
thanks
