My tiger botia loaches have so much personality! When the lights go out, they play and have some sort of bony feature that makes a snapping sound when they "fight". Tiger botia are great with aggressive cichlids.

    Great video.
My fishroom currently has 7 tanks with 13 species of loaches and gobies. I love all rheophilic species and find them fascinating. And much like Rob, I also started this fishroom with guppies and have a few strains going in the fishroom as well and in rooftop tubs.
Great to see another person giving the the old loaches a good go!!

Plus one loach that I dont have a clue what he's supposed to be LOL.

I placed an order with The Wet Spot and needed to spend an extra $10 or so for a Cyber Monday deal. They had one piece of a Blyth's Loach left at around $12 so I added it. The good-This fish is swimming front and center at all times. Very active and fun to watch. The bad-He's an assbeater, even of some tough customers as I keep catfish and cichlids. If he continues to pick on my larger Altums, Uaru Fernandezyepezi and TR Synodontis granulosus, he's going bye-bye as those fish are my babies.

I've never owned a Yoyo before, and I find my little guy to be a curious and entertaining fish. It was constantly side by side with my Corrie, but I think it was a little much and the Corrie stays out of his way now. One odd thing, the Yoyo has taken to spending a few seconds every hour or so furiously digging into the corners of the tank. I think he is hunting the snails, but I'm not sure.

I like loaches but i tend to want each type of fish in my aquarium to have its specific niche like in the wild , so for example for the top-mid water fish i keep zebra danios , and for the bottom dwellers i keep kuhli loaches , i dont add any other scavenger in the tank because they would compete for the same food and i don't add any other top-mid water fish either , but i do keep Malaysian trumpet snails because they help with keeping the glass clean and they aerate the plant roots .

You should totally get a Hillstream Loach! They're so awesome and look like little aliens. I have one so far named Stitch. I also have one golden dojo loach named Noodle, one spotted dojo loach named Lokie (he is mischievous as ever and my absolute favorite), one black Kuhli loache named Midnight, one Silver Kuhli loache named Sterling, and two striped Kuhli loaches that I haven't named yet. My favorite loaches as far as personality goes is the Dojos. Favorite as far as looks is a tie between the Hillstream and Striped Kuhlis. Those are a few I haven't seen you name off aside from the Hillstream. I highly recommend getting a few Hillstreams. They also have different patterns. Stitch has really cool squiggly patterns. I want to have at least 2 or 3 Hillstreams in each of my tanks. Where I live I get Hillstreams for $3.99 or $4.99.

I have a similar kind to the sumo loach called a serpentine loach. I am unsure if they are the same kind just diffrent names. They are in my tank with khulis and angelicus loaches. Thoughs are all in my 95 gallon. I have a 170 that i had built to be longer but not to shallow. Its a more stream kind of set up with cooler water. They have everything from like 4 kinds of hillstreams (butterfly loaches) to just normal Chinese hillstreams (they look like overgrown sumos) i have a few other ki ds in there too like my 5 clouded leopard loaches the so called "main fish" in that tank is a school of 48 glass cats. Tropical i know. The tank was originaly set up for them but i didnt realise my heaters all shorted out due to a faulty plug and it just kind of cooled down and they showed no signs of caring. They like eatting everything drifting in the current theres also some shiners in there too. Some buffalo shiners. About 50 of thoughs and everyone goes just fine i have considered putting a few more things in there. Suggestions anyone?

I did the same and couldn’t find anything conclusive. I have a small group 4 and they are an absolute blast they play tag all over the tank. Everything ive read says no one has been able to breed in captivity yet. Challenge excepted! Im building a fast river tank to try and im going to try and cycle a rainy season
