Hampstead Pub Tour • Real Ales in London

- Neil and I are out in the Hampstead area, North London, for a tour around some pubs. Our preferred drinks are real ales, whatever they are these days, and rather tend to avoid the IPA style drinks where possible. We are a bit fussy, we just are. Always happy to try something new but only after a taster first. There is no point spending hard-earned cash on a pint and not like it!
Hampstead is an area that I used to know quite well, but have not visited for about 35 years. I don’t remember any of the pubs though, so today will be a real explore, an adventure.
Our tour this time included:
• Coffee Cup Café - Breakfasts (Hampstead High Street)
• King William IV - Courage: Directors Hampstead High Street / Perrin’s Lane)
• The George - Green King: Abbot (Rosslyn Hill - Haverstock Hill)
• Tetto’s - unrecorded (Haverstock Hill)
• The Stag - unrecorded (Fleet Road / Lawn Road)
• The Garden Gate - The Wye Valley Brewery: Butty Bach (South End Road)
• The Magdala - Sussex: Best Bitter (South Hill Park)
• The Freemasons Arms - Sharps: Doom Bar, Fish and Chips (Downshire Hill)
• The Wells Tavern - Gorgeous Brewery: Glowfly Bitter (Well Walk / Christchurch Hill)
• The Flask - Young’s: London Original Bitter (Flask Walk, Hampstead)

Brilliant....love these pub tours that you film...a nice 9 pints ...i must just say that you were beginning to look a little bit squiffy by the end...top notch entertainment
We have another one done already - need to edit and schedule. And another date in the diary for the autumn too. We need to work out a location to target though, for the next one. A couple of the drinks were half-pints so I think the total was more like 7 or 8 by the end. And yes, I did look rather "squiffy" by the end - I blame "hat hair" from my hat! Ha! Cheers, Warren

Warren you couldn't remember the names of the beer at number 3 so how were you going to remember how many ... just saying mate... lol. Some really old stylish pubs in this lot. Thanks for the drinking wanderings. Bushyboy Oz
Well yes, it's a shame I can't remember the names of the two beers but I usually manage to get some video "evidence" recorded to help remember - unfortunately on these occasions that didn't work. And they were different beers which makes it rather more annoying. Maybe we need to pop back sometime and check them out again! Cheers, Warren :)
