Those are deal breakers for me, no reason for that sloppiness on a bumper with that price tag. Ty
I still like the bumper after it's all said and done. As far a price and QC, it's not great but not terrible like you might think it is. I will say one thing: If I had to do it again, I would have went recessed winch. I didn't realize how tight the space is with a winch on top of the bumper in terms of trying to mount lights on the bumper. If buying again, I probably would have went LOD Signature short *or* I would have went with Rebel Offroad. The Rebel Offroad is about twice the price of the LOD options, but it does have some features I like. Although, the Rebel branding does detract (the Rebel logo is actually a cut out in the front of the bumper).
Thoughts on this bumper now? Should I pay 700 for a used one with frame tie in/ skid?
Not a great price, but not terrible either given you're getting the skid. I think it's a decent bumper. If I had to do it over, I might be inclined to get a recessed winch bumper. However, finding one where you don't have to cut the frame 'ears' to make clearance for the winch is difficult.

The coating isn't smooth, but it's not very textured either.
