In Western democracies you'd usually expect a newly-elected prime minister (or president) to talk, in their maiden speech as "prime minister-elect" - about bringing the country together, about being "everyone's prime minister". But the harsh reality is ''ethnicity'' also plays a huge implicit/latent role in his position. The UK especially the Conservative party (irony conservatives🙃 ) want to conserve the traditional values of the party including the position of power which should remain in the hands of ''ethnic English/British'' person. Which i understand because i know politics is interlinked with ethnicity/culture. So from the start i knew a Asian British person would never be PM of the UK. The reason many conservatives liked Boris Johnson who part (Turkish) is because Boris Johnson always was a patriotic-nationalist who loved the British empire and its so called historic significance. The whole policy paper of Great Britain the world post-Brexit was extention of Boris Johnson geopolitical worldvieuw. Sunak would contradict himself being the leader of party that is rooted in worldvieuw that took pride in colonizing Indian Sub-continent/South Asia. Based on almost two centuries of detailed data on taxes and trade, Patnaik estimated that the UK withdrew a total of about $45 trillion from India between 1765 and 1938. This is a staggering amount. For comparison, $45 trillion is 17 times more than the total annual gross domestic product (GDP) of the United Kingdom today. Where's the money, Lizz?
In the UK, is that normal for a newly -elected prime minister to sound so partisan?
In Western democracies you'd usually expect a newly-elected prime minister (or president) to talk, in their maiden speech as "prime minister-elect" - about bringing the country together, about being "everyone's prime minister". Instead, Liz Truss used her maiden speech as the incoming prime minister to say things like "I will lead to a Conservative victory in 2024" and "thanks you, Boris Johnson, for crushing Jeremy Corbyn". Is it just me, or does she really sounds as if she still views herself as leader of the Conservative party first, and prime minister of the United Kingdom second?
She obviously has the same spech writer as Biden. Let's wait for a blood red backdrop and speeches saying the opposition is of The Shadow, not The Light!
Just ignore her, she is thick as a plank, and is very unliked by most of the British public, who did not vote for her and never would, Boris was fired by his own party and they replaced him with this moron.

@@socillizt4life Exactly, the MS media didnt want to explitcly point out that Rishi Sunak Indian/Asian/Immigrant background would play a huge role in his position. Based on the points, expertise and technocratic know how of Sunak he would be ideal person for the Conservative party. Risihi would look like rootless Asian lapdog sitting on a old line of British conservatism. Yes Asians, West Indians, Africans, Middle Easterners in the UK may gain positions as MP, Mayors, Policy makers etc. But Prime Minster....NEVER !
@@noahsub6372 The point is people think politics is all about ''ideas, policies, pragmatism, being there for the nation'' and all that other good sounding points. But image and relatableness is also important. When people see ''Rishi Sunak'' they see a Indian/Asian-British person wheter he likes it or not. Most people can not identify with him especially the old traditional wing of the conservative / tory party. The younger conservatives have no issue with Risish Sunak ''Asianess'' so to say.
