Once a guitar draws blood, you know it’s special.
Edit: I love how this one comment divided half the guitar community. Think whatever you want, we all have opinions and we have the tools to express them.

The only instrument that has ever made me bleed while playing it was my electric ukulele
Not even my guitars have done it, and I've played them for longer than I played my electric uke

Agreed! I always heard rumours that my biggest music hero John Coltrane would practice so much in his early life that there’d be blood on his reeds. I was practicing slap bass for the first time in my 20 years of playing last summer and got a blood blister on my thumb but kept going and it busted and bled all over my strings, the ultimate sacrifice to the music gods! It was an honour. 🥰🥰

I knew I was gonna love guitar the first night I started. I was forming blisters like 20 minutes in and I kept going for another 2 hours bled all over it but it was so worth it. Learned a whole fingerstyle song in that time. It was pretty simple but the next day I took what I learned from it and made my own thing with those sorts of shapes. I kinda miss those days when the guitar was so foreign, it was so uncomfortable to hold and a simple power chord felt like a stretch but the progression was so fast in the beginning it was so rewarding. It still is but sometimes it’s not
