Reebok Legacy Lifter 2 - Honest Review

- Опубліковано 28 лип 2024
- In this video, I give an in depth review and recommendation of the Reebok Legacy Lifters 2
The original Legacy Lifter's were introduced in dramatic fashion with good marketing, using a flagship athlete to help promote them ( CJ Cummings ). Unfortunately, this second iteration did not receive even half of the promotion the first shoe did, which left me to believe this wasn't going to be anything special. During the video, you'll see my thoughts and why I think it may be better than anticipated.

Just pulled the trigger on a limited edition WIK collab..had a good experience with the original legacy’s…awesome vid man
They looked sweet, hope you like them & thank you!
love the gum sole so much but plzzzzzz why the splash of paint
I've had Rom 4's for about 8 weeks and the toe box is too tight but I'm getting heel slip so I know I can't size up really on it. Would this be a better option?
Yes! I would recommend it over the Romaleo 4's. I ended up returning them because of the sizing, but I don't think they were particularly tight in the toe box.
The shoes look good!
I got a pair in us 7.5 and also one in us 8. in the smaller ones my big toe pinches the front of the tow box, but it’s not hurting. The rest feels super snug and no heels slip. The US 8, although is only a half number bigger has plenty more of toe box space, but I find that I have a bit of heel slip in them. So better for my toes, but I can force to slip out of the shoe when holding the heel to the ground. Do you maybe have an advice; does your big toe hit the front also? Thanks for any help! BR
It's been a while since I last wore the shoes, I believe they were a little loose on me so no toe cramp. It will come down to personal preference, but you may also want to look into getting a different pair of weightlifting shoes. Older models tend to fit better in my opinion.
So if I understand correctly, the arch you're talking about is solely cause by the insoles? So if I were to replace those with my custom made soles (flat feet gang) it would just be the same feeling as usual? Awesome review btw! By far the most indepth one I've come across.
I have returned the shoe since then because I ordered a half size too big, but from what I remember, the structure of the shoe adds to the arch support slightly with a rounded curve, and the insoles followed that curve/arch even higher. The Romaleos 3 & 4 had this issue and when I traded insoles it did fix the issue in part.
Appreciate it!
Problem I had with the 1's was that the velcro stopped sticking after 3 months. I thought I had mistreated them, but then I saw Mohamed Ehab tucking his top velcro underneath the laces/bottom. Seems like he has the same problem. How does the velcro on the 2 hold up?
Hard to say because I didn't get to put the shoes through a lot of reps, but I will say that strap is significantly beefier than the straps on the 1's. I bet it would last a few years.
@@trainershatehim I got them last week. Like them better than the ones: flatter sole, better arch support. Heel feels more secure. Is gud shoe.
So if you can only choose one between Antas & Legacy 2s, which one will u recommend?
(Ima copy paste this from another comment I answered)
That's a tough one, they're both pretty good shoes. I believe the Anta's are lighter, and they're a little less clunky, but the legacy 2's are more cushiony and I believe have a tiny bit higher heal height compared to the Anta's. I have a feeling other people may prefer the Anta's.
Nice review, I'm glad they brought back the old logo. The triangle logo just automatically screams crossfit
They had to, CrossFit was canceled and is now known as a racist institution that perpetuates white supremacy.
@@laughter95 I'll be honest, I couldn't stand crossfit anyway and as stupid as it sounds I didn't really want to wear anything people associated with it.
@@getstrongby4038 Was being facetious about the Crossfit woke statement btw. It's a true luxury for us to be outraged over a stupid man's internet comment while there's other much more egregious issues going on in the world, esp outside of America.
@@laughter95 really? You can call it woke but if someone like that owns a company it deserves to disappear. I had no interest in crossfit anyway its stupid as fuck
👀 Ima stay out of this one
You’re really good at shoes reviews! 🙌🏼 can you review adipower?
I appreciate it! I've tried to buy the shoes before but I can't find them anywhere in my size (or in the color i want)
I just got these, they are so much heavier than adipowers! I like it
Awesome, it's a solid pair of shoes.
Would you recommend this for powerlifting particuarly back squats i loooked also at romaleos 4 and many others but idk which to buy
im looking for weightlifting shoes for powerlifting too. I have the adidas powerlift 3 and theyre great but theyre breaking down after 2 years... also im lately only doing high bar squat and having these kind of shoes help. If you only do low bar squat and have good ankle mobility i wouldn't buy weightlifting shoes, but if your ankle mobility is not the greatest and like to do ATG high bar squats i think they're a must.
@@Tryingmybestsince1999 i know many powerlifters WHO lowbAr squat wide stance with weight liften shoes
I think it depends on your leverages, ankle mobility, and foot shape. Wider foot? Grab legacy's or more old school weightlifting shoes. narrow foot? Grab Romaleos 3/4 or adipowers. If you have knee problems it's also probably wiser to stay with a flat shoe because the WL shoes will pitch your knees forward and keep your torso upright and that will naturally tear up the knee a bit more. Adidas Powerlift shoes are probably the way to go because their heel height isn't as aggressive.
A little help. My heel to toe measurement in inches is about 10.8", which per the chart says I would use a 9.5 US Men, but i've never used 9.5 shoe size, always 10.5-11 depending on how narrow. Can anyone explain this, not sure what I'm misunderstanding. Thanks
What are the shoes that you wear now that are 10.5-11? How much wiggle room do you have in front of your toes? You could be safe and go with a 10, but I believe most people drop half a size in weightlifting shoes normally.
@@trainershatehim I use 11 nanos, and they're not loose at all. I have a wide foot as well, when I've purchased 10.5 nanos, i feel like my toes are too crunched if I try to do lunges. For now i ordered the 10.5 so I'll see how that goes, worst case I'll return them if they don't feel right. Will update once i know more. thanks
@@jbenitez22 what happened bro? Looking at getting a pair rn haha
Looking back now, which one would you choose between adidas adipower 1 and Reebok legacy lifter 2 for Olympic weightlifting? I am considering both, obviously adidas adipower 1 will be slightly used. Thanks if you find the time to answer.
I think both are good shoes, but the legacy lifters are definitely a bulkier shoe. I also think the legacy's have a slightly higher heel. So, it depends on what you want. Me personally? I like lighter shoes with a normal heel height (.75 inch) so I would go with the Adipowers.
@@trainershatehim thanks for your feedback and quick response. I would take 2 pairs really :) like both so its hard decision to make.
@@kropekpf84 Of course, never hurts to buy both 👀
Did you experience any heel slip? Mine just came yday and they fit fine - except the heel keeps slipping when I walk. This is especially with my right foot, but my left is okay. This exact thing happened with the newest romaleos when I tried them on. Is this normal, since weightlifting shoes have a high bulky heavy heel? Or should I return them? Lifting in them would be doable I guess but I want it to fit perfect with what I'm paying
I did have some heel slip but not nearly as much as the Romaleos 4. If it bothers you then I would get either a smaller size (if they aren't too tight) or invest in a different shoe because there are a lot out there that won't give you any heel slip.
Give my grandma her shoes back!
Your shoe size is 7 1/2???
Hey what do you recommend between anta and legacy lifter 2? I currently lift in power perfect 2.
That's a tough one, they're both pretty good shoes. I believe the Anta's are lighter, and they're a little less clunky, but the legacy 2's are more cushiony and I believe have a tiny bit higher heal height compared to the Anta's. I have a feeling other people may prefer the Anta's.
@@trainershatehim Alright thanks!! Hope you do an Anta review in the future.
Rom 4 or legacy 2 for squats only ??? Which ones
Rom 4 for narrow feet, Legacy 2 for wider feet. Either will get the job done for squats.
Im trying to buy these shoes from internet. Im a us 10.5, but there is no stock on that size, so i considered buying an 11. Do you think i should buy them? or should i get a women size? if so, what size would you recommend?
Try Zappos, you can send them back easily if they don’t fit
I truly don't think it's worth it to go with a size that isn't your norm. Keep your eyes peeled for your size. I went with a women's 10, 2 sizes up from a men's 8. I felt like they were slightly too big, if I recall (I returned them). So worse case scenario go 1.5 sizes up in womens.
Is the toe rock in weightlifting shoes a good or bad thing? Specifically for the olympic lifts!
I think it leans more towards bad. It may be easier to flex your toes in the jerk, but you lose out on more secure balance and stability.
@@trainershatehim fantastic, thank you very much! That made my decision and I’m gonna go with the Reeboks! Now to find some colors lol!
@@kipper7387 Of course, hope you like them! Hopefully you can find a good color
@@trainershatehim Thank you!
A lot of People are saying that legacys 2 are at the same level as romaleos 2... as the best oly shoes nowadays. would you agree?
I haven't heard anyone say that, although no one in my circle has bought the Legacy 2's yet. I'm not sure, but I thought they were better than the Romaleos 4.
Joey the goat 💪🏿
How do these fit to size? Thanks
It's been a while since I wore them. I believe they felt like a middle of the road width/length, not too long not too narrow. I could've gone a half size down. These were a women's size.
I agree man, The "90's retro look" is just not my style, the speckled look is the reason I went with the black version. I'm glad to hear they are a good shoe, theyll be my first lifters, my foot is on the wider side too, so they wont fit in the Nikes and the adidas ones are ugly as sin.
I'm with you there, I think these will be a solid pick for you. They are some beefy shoes though so be ready for the heaviness!
Aw man really? Those white joints look so cleaaann. I would rock these outside of the gym if they weren't lifters.
Great video. I really like the gum soles.
Subbed
Appreciate it. I'm a fan of the gum soles as well.
Curious why you returned these and kept the romaleos when you seem to favor these legacy's more?
They were just slightly too big on my feet, if I recall. I considered getting a smaller size but i thought it wasn't worth it as I was going to end up wearing a nicer vintage pair of weightlifting shoes anyway.
Legacy lifter II or Romaleos4 ? For squat ? Thx
Both are good if you’re just squatting, I’d pick based on foot shape. Narrow foot with big arch will fit Rom4 better, wide foot will do better in legacy’s.
@@trainershatehim thx 🙏🏼
ok just to double check they are not Crossfit shoes at all right?
Well, I mean, you can do whatever you want with them. Does that make it a good decision to crossfit in these? Probably not. Only good for lifting.
are these better than the romaleos 4?
In my opinion yes, but it really comes down to your foot shape.
Can you please refer if I am Men's size 9, what size should I get in womens? Only available women's shoes no men's available.
So, I’m a size 8, got a Women’s 10 and felt like it was just slightly too big. If you’re a 9, your best bet might be a Women’s 10.5. Good luck!
@@trainershatehim Thanks man, much appreciated!
@@letsgetripped4397 Absolutely!
Can you wear that shoe for lunges, leg press, and hip thrust?
You can but you shouldn't need to change shoes for those exercises because they don't require a higher degree of ankle flexibility.
@@trainershatehim thank you!
Are you aware of any shoes that have a 1inch heel height?
Adidas Leistung and I believe Position Lifters.
Will you do a review on the 2016 Adipower 1?
You mean Leistungs? Or 2012 Adipower? 2012 version coming out this week (:
@@trainershatehim Correction: 2012. Or 2014. Either one. -- Cool, will watch.
Are they optimal for squatting
Yes, but any pair of weightlifting shoes can get the job done for squats.
Nice
Legacy Lifters 2 or Nike Romelo 4?
Legacy Lifter 2. Depending on your foot shape someone's opinion will likely be different.
@@trainershatehim what about for flat feet?
Yeah what about for flat feet
Legacys imo
I prefer this retro style.
Same
I was sold by this review
@C. Daniel Thomas probably this if they dont release in red color
My friend.
I'm sorry.
I'm don't speak in english.
It's a good goods?
Ναί
Are these great for flat feet?
Definitely wouldn't say great, probably middle of the road! If you can get your hands on them, Romaleos 2, Antas, and Asics are much better for flat feet.
i tough youre going to cut off the straps again
👀
Another pair Joie?!?!
Ope
Calyn can I add you on Instagram
jojojaykay ahah yes! It’s the same name as on here
just got these for $130 on amazon... lets see
Good luck!
not hating, but i liked the design of the first legacy lifter, also i think the lifter 2 is ugly af. Other than that, great improvements!
Booooh
I like colours...
You got small feet
