What is your go to method to mount your lights?
this is an incredible breakdown with tons of creative options for all the run and gun filmmakers out there. Well done brother
As a dp who doesn’t currently have the budgets for gaffers videos like this are life savers
I appreciate the feedback. What else would you like to see?
@@PDMokry anything having to deal with improvising with your rigging would be awesome 🙌🏽
@@BTFilmz I will start diving into more grip setups in real use cases. Thank you for the input!
100% agree

THIS WAS AMAZING
Wow your simple amazing. Absolutely love when we share our wisdom. This only makes us stronger as a community of gaffers! I absolutely love the endless possibilities that we are able to rig our gear.
Thanks so much for the kind words, we have to grow together!
Ohhhhhhh. Snap this was good! I ordered a few things. I almost ordered the pool noodle but I could already see my kids getting me with it so I decided not too lol.
It’s the American Gaffer & Gear! Lol love your stuff, the new videos are improving even more. Keep it up!
Nowhere even close to Andrew Lock, but I appreciate it. Thank you for watching and sticking around!
Good stuff! Ive found however on heavier tubes like the 4 ft pavotbes will not stay in the white clips sadly..i had a close call booming them over with one of their own nanlite mounts. Id recommend a cardellini or a "claw" mount or one of the fully wrapping nanlite plastic clamps with the 1/4 inch thread.
Oh wow! That is not good! Thank for the heads up. Thanks for commenting and watching!
Just got mine and you’re totally right: They’re so long that the leverage easily pops it out. I find the $30 mini cardellinis work best, of the ‘clampellini’ style clamps. But I’ve been using a nano clamp on a heavy duty mini ballhead. They both work really well, but you do have to be careful not to bite down on the light too hard. Utebit and Leaplumin are my faves for the mini ball heads btw.
@@dymonmein good info! this is what I love about youtube
That pool noodle hack is crazy! I use a couple 1m tubes from Ambitful, the perfect clamp is for them is the micro mathelinis from the Matthews micro grip set. The smaller size is really great for lots of use cases that the regular size ones are just too strong or big for. Love the channel!
Those small mathelinis are great, I need a few in my kit. The pool noodle is great to have for a quick soft light on quick b-roll shoots. Thanks so much for watching and supporting the channel!
Yeah ofc, thanks for the content I love learning from dudes actually in the industry 👍🏼
Totally going to try zip ties on my baby plate. My Pavotube IIs are really light. ❤ these videos.
Gotta run what you brung! Thanks for the support!
Came across your post in the Aputure FB Group, watched this entire thing. Great video. Never had a video make me add a pool noodle to my Amazon cart so fast. lol
Thank you for making your way to watch!
And in the Winter to top it off!!! Lol
@@PDMokry Just subscribed! We just hit 50's in Vegas so got to take this time to re-up on the skills during the winter. lol
Simple, straight to the point and informative. Subbed keep up the great work!
Thank you so much and I appreciate the sub!
Thanks, very helpful !
Glad it helped!
Thanks for the video, shows how to think about the problem. Just got the T2c & the NATO to baby. My favorite connector is a Matthews knuckle joint. Same as your photo thing but much beefier.
Glad it helped
I just picked up the T2c and this was an awesome Video!! The pool noodle was crazy Ill think about using that as a defuser one I stop hitting my kids with it lol
Superb - thank you so much for sharing all these ideas!
Thank you for watching! More to come in the near future!
This was very helpful. Thank you!
Glad to help!
Great info--very helpful! Thanks.
Thank you Boss! I mean LAWBOSS!
i wish they made clamps that actually locked like the nanlite ones do, my pt2c's are prone to getting knocked off or just falling out on their own all the time
so many amazing ideas, thanks for sharing it !
You are so welcome! And welcome to the channel!
@@PDMokry I've been watching your videos for a couple months, they are so helpful, thanks for making them ! Cheers from Brasil 🇧🇷
Hello - thanx for your demonstration.
Love the HANDLE option that I want to find, also you say « smallrig handle « and your link shows Nitze handle that looks, tell me if i m wrong , a bit different from your video. Even if the Nitze handle looks fine in nato rotation and may do the job , I was wondering if it has the same hole to mount on a pin as you did on the Tripod ?
cheers
After filming, I found out they don’t make it anymore.
Some great ideas! Any tip on mounting Hyperion tubes vertically from floor stands?
Thank you! So you want to use a simple light stand and then attach them vertically?
My Man!
Gotta keep on keeping on! Now let's mount them to the boat!
any fixture. add a baby pin to it and then proceed in mounting your fixture as you would any other baby clamp fixture? There are probably tight spaces or accute angles where you neeed to go specialist. Only go specialist when you need to?
That pretty much sums it up.
Heya, thank for sharing all these insights. I was wondering if you have an AVenger Baby plate and the T12 clips, is there enough space on a single plate for 4 clips - so to hold 2 tubes?
Also, are the clips strong enough to hold the tubes vertically or would they slide out?
good video~
Thanks for the visit
Thank you🙏🏻
Thank you for watching!
Does it work with the amaran pt4c tube?
Does what?
