Can you review the rival rs80v sparring glove basically seems a similar glove to these but retails £50 cheaper then these at 100quid i think alot of ppl would be interested in a review, i can't seem to find any reviews on youtube of them and your reviews are brilliant
Is the hand tighter here than in the fly x model? If you had to keep this one or the fly superloop x, which one would you choose?
When they first came out with these gloves the stiching wasn't done to well it really looks like they sharpened up these gloves very well intrested in another pair might get them soon. In the 16oz version do you think It would fit the 1/8 inch skull tech gel pad folded in half? Or would it take up to much room in the glove
Yeh I reckon you’ll be fine with that Manuel. In my pair which were more snug fitting than these new ones I used a 5m wrap and the Winning gel knuckle pads. It was a bit tight to begin with but fine after a few uses.
Hope that helps 😊👊
Have you tried the RS80 Impulse sparring glove? If so would you recommend them for a first pair of sparring gloves? I'm also considering Twins Special, but thinking they may be a little bulky (I like the leather though). Thanks!
No tried those gloves tbh mate. Twins are class but yeh are a bit bulky in the 14oz & 16oz but cracking gloves 👌
I recently bought these directly from Rival, and I thought I share my impression here, as Rival will not post reviews that are less than 5 stars on their site (obviously). Not even sure why they bother asking for the feedback, if they are not intended to post it. Anyway...
I bought 16oz gloves, and initially they were so tight that I had to put tennis and golf balls in order to make some room for the hands. They are quite compact, which I like, but it's a bit difficult to make a good fist in them. I think it make sense to by one size up, so maybe I should have bought 18oz, especially considering that these gloves weigh less than nominal number: 16oz weigh about 14.5 -15 oz.
I thought they needed to be broken in, in order to fit better, so I used them on the bag, but even after a month of using them on the bag, they give me a lot of pain in the knuckles and especially in the wrists - so much that I had to take some time of the gym. I'm doing boxing for 7 years and my hands and wrists are generally well conditioned. I can work the heavy bag just wearing thin mittens, but not in these gloves.
A few other things to note: 1) the padding is quite hard, it's actually very comparable to my Rival mexican bag gloves (which I love), maybe even slightly harder. I prefer softer gloves for sparring, in order to protect my sparring partner. For the same reason I don't by Reyes or any other mexican gloves for sparring, despite a very comfortable fit - they are great for the bag work, as well as for a fight, where you really want to hurt your opponent, but not for sparring.
So, overall, despite great construction and material, I cannot recommend these gloves. I think there are much better sparring gloves out there, that cost same or even less.
What’s your hand circumference? Thanks.
Better wrist support then Hayabusa T3/Kanepki??
Better These or fly superlace X?
Great gloves. Just got a pair myself. U said they are different from the previous ones u owned. In what way? Are these a updated version? And can i use them for bags, pads, etc?
The hand compartment is larger than the ones I had (in a good way). And yeh although they’re advertised as sparring gloves I used them for both bagwork and sparring for 2 years and they were brilliant
@@SecondsOutFightStore Ok, so that is the only difference? same padding and everything else?
Great review. Thank you. I’m 5’ 9” and 65kg (I have thin wrists and medium sized hands). Would 14oz or 16oz be best? I’ll be wearing hand wraps and a knuckle guard. Thank you very much.
Thank you! I would probably still lean towards the 14oz. They will take some breaking in with the knuckle guards but will get there after a few wears. That being siad if you prefer a heavier glove or want to pla it safe I had the exact same set up at the time with the knuckle guards and wraps and had 16's
@@SecondsOutFightStore Thank you for your solid advice. It's very much appreciated. Keep well. 🙏
Hey broder I also have small hands and wonder if the model is snug enough for a small hand ? 14 oz I mean
Great job with this review! I’m looking for a sparring glove and I can’t choose between these Rival RS11V and Adidas Adispeed 501. I’d use them only for sparring because I already own a pair of bag glove. What’s your suggestion? Thank you 😊
I like these RS11's myself mate!
Good review. I have long fingers so this should do.
😃👊
How were they?
@@leokilpi not long enough for my fingers lol. Fairtex bgv9 gloves fit me though. Or for sparring I go with fairtex bgv5.
@@JoelTGM ok Thanks👍
they are good gloves but don’t get if you have longer fingers because it is very short
Hey man, I am looking for my first pair of 16oz sparring gloves, would you say these are worth going for? I was tempted by the Rival RS1 gloves but taking them on and off would be a nightmare for light sparring.
Yeh definitely, the RS11 are cracking gloves. Well worth it
@@SecondsOutFightStore thanks man, if you had to pick between the RS11V or the Cleto Reyes velcro sparring glove what would you pick?
Do you think the way how the thumb attaches to the padding bother you since you cannot move your thumb much? Thanks!
Hi no it didn’t bother me at all 👊
@@SecondsOutFightStore oh nice thanks! I also see reviews saying that the inner mesh lining is annoying (rubbing skin). Do you notice that?
@@freddyboy8251 Na that didn’t bother me at all either 😊
@@SecondsOutFightStore gotcha gotcha thanks man
Hi, thank you for the nice review of these gloves! I'm considering to buy a pair of these but is struggling to purchase 14Oz or 16Oz of them. I've got a pair of Adispeed 501 Pro 14Oz and find it fits right to me (16Oz is also OK but a bit heavy). How do you compare RS11V with Adispeed 501 in internal space? Is it about the same or there is some room difference between the two? Thank you!
Hey Rick, I’d probably lean towards the 16oz in the RS11, I had that size and they didn’t feel anything like 16’s. The 14oz is just a little tight on my hands so if you’ve got 14’s in the Adispeed I’d say the 16oz RS11 will have a similar hand compartment.
@@SecondsOutFightStore Thank you so much! Expecting more of your review video and wish I could visit your store once the world wipes out this COVID-19! Stay Healthy, bro!
@@rickhsiung6340 Thank you again my man, appreciate that. Next video coming end of the week 😊👊
I can’t find them in your store 🤷🏻♂️
Are they ok for pad & bag work ?
I love them on the bag but cannot use them alot because softer foam on sparring gloves breaks down easier..
Перчатки ) Огонь!)
What’s a good pad and bag glove will spend upto 150 pounds?

@@user-wi9vn1br4p or the RIVAL RFX-GUERRERO-V BAG GLOVES - HDE-F
Could you use them for muy Thai ??
Yes, i used them for Muay Thai for a couple years
I'm 5"9 and about 80kg witch weight would be good as I'd be using this for sparring and bag
Depends on the gym, perhaps 16s. I use 14s generally for sparring and I’m 5’8” and 72kg, so if you’re a good 8kg heavier then yeah…
@@tomhardy116 ok nice one cheers mate 👍👍
These gloves are too small if u have large hands. The older rival gloves with the two straps are better and cheaper
