Thank you SO MUCH FOR THIS VIDEO!!! It is so descriptive while simplifying so many parts of the play. All this while sharing so much useful information about the characters! Thank you!!!
Thank you very much for your help, my exam is tomorrow morning, and I feel this has helped refresh my knowledge on the characters, and their relationships, more so than what my teachers have ever told me. Thank you! #bringbackstudyleave
Could i write about this is i get a specific question on a character? is this really what the examiner is looking for? it' good because this is more in depth and would hopefully get higher grades?
This is good background information on Romeo and Juliet. I use it to introduce my students to the characters. Also, check out Mr. Bruff if you are taking a test in the UK.
Useful but there is some minor but major info on here that is wrong like the fact Capulet did not seek Juliet's approval and just wanted her to get married to Paris to get rid of her to some wealthy man, this symbolises the typical father at the time of when the play was written but if we chose to say what you said, you are saying that Capulet cared for Juliet which juxtaposes the what his feelings were towards Juliet. Edit: Great vid nevertheless just respond to me if I am right or wrong bcz Im not too sure
"But woo her, gentle Paris, get her heart, My will to her consent is but a part; An she agree, within her scope of choice Lies my consent and fair according voice" (I.ii) I interpret these lines to mean that he is willing to give her some say in the matter. Like all parent-child relationships, theirs is a complex one. He assumes Juliet will do whatever he wants, but when she does not agree to his choice later in the play, we see a completely different and less democratic side of his character. Was he just pretending with Paris or was he genuine? What does he gain by pretending to give her a choice, if that's what he's doing? Thanks for the comment and for watching my video.
