If there is a lesion in broca's area, the patient can understand what is being said and heard, but he can't speak or write a reply right? Since the exner's area doesn't recieve information directly from wernicke's area, he will not be able to write anything if broca's area is damaged right?
Exner's area can still receive information indirectly from the Broca's area through the arcuate fasciculus and other regions of the brain, allowing for the planning and execution of writing movements.

That's correct. It would be a Broca's Aphasia.
