Yeah, it seems like that was what happened when I watched it again. He just said "Right in my good ear too" so I figured it was a casing, but you can see the guy next to him cringing too. So it was probably just the sound.
a suggestion for the US military; as long as you fight conflicts where soldiers have to peep over walls and berms - why not equip them with "lexan" face and head shields they can use to reduce the chances of being hit by return fire when firing themselves?
pensive69 not if it's only supported by a helmet as a flip up visor, plus what do you think your vision will look like through 3"+ of high strength glass?
i'd think it would be a safer view . that was my point. not just that it might be a bit more burdensome to use but that the observer wouldn't have quite the worry about incoming. and i'm not suggesting this be helmet mounted....more like a sandbag supported gun shield.
Awesome, thanks for the reply and it couldn't come from a better source than you. Sometimes in these videos it's hard to understand why people do some of the things they do.
Not wearing ear protections is something this guy is going to regret. 20 minutes of indoor rifle fire had me deaf for 2 days, and stuck with a ringing in my ears for life.
Wow, InfinityWard really stepped up the graphics and campaign mode or is this multiplayer? Whichever one it is, it's amazing! I can't wait for it! Thumbs up to InfinityWard.
Depends on the grenade. Having carried the M-203 myself I can tell you that guy filming was lobbing HEDP (High Explosive Duel Purpose) rounds down range. Think of it as a mini anti tank HEAT warhead wrapped in shrapnel. It'll penetrate cover & blast targets within a structure or vehicle. The 2nd guy was just popping smoke to obscure their eventual movement on the enemy. Casualty radius: 427 ft (130 m) Incapacitation radius: 49 ft (15 m) Kill radius: 16 ft (5 m)
Generally, a lot of units work with marksmen and do this. However, it can be difficult for this to work effectively as when your guys are pinning them, there's nothing for the marksman to shoot at. However, when the enemy is visible, they're shooting at you and you don't want to pop up. It's a vicious cycle.
This might sound stupid, but how do soldiers know at what angle they have to set their M203s to engage a target? Do they fire a 320 and then adjust based on where it landed?
They don't add tape or things like that because it looks cool. Everything has a reason. Tape is used as a magazine pull. When you have magazine pouches that are tight, it can some times be hard to grab the magazine with gloves or with sweaty hands, so you hook your finger under the loop and pull.
Actually 2nd guy was popping smoke down range. I think they might be setup like my unit was where TL's doubled as grenadiers (against common doctrine). we'd often let the young joes lob smoke down range if it was needed or feasible so they could get some experience with the M203.
@Christopher Sarratori , You sir, are a TRUE HERO.Thank you for your service, and i hope and pray that all your men came home alive. Im an AF vet myself, but never saw action, so with that said and after seeing this..* pours you a shot *... SIR.... this ones for you! God bless!
That unit is from JBLM (I think). I live in JBLM and Ive past by their barracks almost everyday to go workout at the soldiers field house after school.
I agree with you not not to kiss ass, but to say that your right. I have a brother in the Army Special forces, he does secret behind the enemy line shit, but I don't go around prying into what he does, but love him for who he his my brother and am proud of what he is a Spec ops person. I look up to him. Combat is not just an adventure but an experience you will never forget in your lifetime.
Because the noise of gunfire is so loud and these cameras are very low quality, the sound of gunfire gets distorted and reduced to within amplitude that the camera can tolerate. Other sounds also get reduced. As a result sound gets distorted and often cut out which is why you can't hear other people talking properly for a second or two after the rifle fires.
are you allowed to choose your loud out of your weapon. like optics, etc. I know there are certain rolls that require different attachments. like grenadier needs a m320.
Question. How do the men shooting the 320 know how far the target is just by sight?? Respond if you are experienced with such weaponry. Please and thank you.
Nekson smith US Army. The Marines don't field multicam patterned uniforms, and Only certain Marines are issued M4A1 rifles, Most are issued the M16A4 or HK M27
In terms of the hearing damage, the Army needs to adapt those camo hunter's muffs that simultaneously block decibels, but not only allow normal hearing but amplify it 5x to 9x with electronic cutoff. Another battery hog, but how about built in solar panels with a transparent camo covering ? brands: Walkers, Peltor, Howard Leight, Pro Ears, Sportears, etc. etc....
The man at @3:50 casually walking across the field. Great job lads
Much respect to you, cant wait to enlist. Thanks for your service man. I salute you.
Give us a update. Where you at ?
Did you end up joining?
3:47

Because the lexan face shield would have to be almost a foot thick to stop the AK rounds being fired at them.
nope at range maybe 3 inch i'd suggest as adequate ... en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Bulletproof_glass

US FORCES ,,THANKS FOR YOUR SERVICE MATE ,TAKE CARE , FROM AUSTRALIA
Glad you can share that with us. NEXT......
I love the sound of gun fire in the morning! Bravo to these guys out there. Balls of titanium!!!
Thank you for uploading these videos, man.
I just wish I was out there helping my brothers and sisters on the field.

Took the words out of my mouth bro.
the sound doesn't do it justice, you cant hear the pure awesomeness and how terrifying it is and can be
Dude, Funker, your videos are among the best I've seen on UA-cam.
But these comments, bro...
Big talk from a man who's country was on house arrest for decades.
you should man. am going to start boot camp the start of next year, so i will have time to get my fitness up
Wow, InfinityWard really stepped up the graphics and campaign mode or is this multiplayer? Whichever one it is, it's amazing! I can't wait for it! Thumbs up to InfinityWard.
Always this kid on funker vids, always.
Huge respect for these guys.
"God damn that was my good ear too!" Lol!

Finally a half decent answer.
War is so expensive, unhappily it must happen sometimes... and not every war but without the certain one there´s no peace.
Some people just don't understand how dangerous it is there...
Through your experience in fire fights how often do you actually know specifically what you are shooting at?
You guys are awesome
When you guys do these foot patrols are there people in your groups that check for mines and stuff?
i never see only one taliban in funker's videos
Sick footage i love seeing our boys get some!!
lmao 3:47 that guy walking is like "do do doo do doo, just another day in Afghanistan"
Keep Low, Move Fast, Kill First, Die Last, One Shot, One Kill, No Luck, Pure Skill.
well dude they must be so jaded after over a decade of war.
How do you aim a grenade launcher? Is there a sight or is it by eye?
The sound of an M203.
Clack. Clonk. Click. *brief pause while aiming* TOOMP.
I love that sound.

i luv how fast they change their clips in cod
he was high on hash. hes floating right there!
This might sound stupid, but how do soldiers know at what angle they have to set their M203s to engage a target? Do they fire a 320 and then adjust based on where it landed?
Max effective range is ~175m (160 yds).
Max range is 400m (1312 feet).
How did you expect the war to be? It isn't trench warfare like you've read about in History books, this is a different kind of beast.

At 3:49, I love that one guy just walking past like people are not literally fucking killing each-other not 50 feet to the left
Awesome respect to u guys
i like how that guy was casually walking in front of gunfire
Quick dumb question, all sodier carry helmt cam ? or just squad leader ? they have to download the footage for they comander in end of day ?
They so calm
Is it possible to get any norwegian footage, i have seen the danish bomb patrol, but never seen any norwegian footage here
Lol dude was genuinely disappointed to when he heard there no more 40mm HE. I would have been too. “Ahhh damnit…here’s your rifle back!”
i love how he nicely ask if he wants smoke and than his answer is no fuck you lol
I agree, you are smart with words although it is not right to judge people by their differences...
On the taliban's side, it must be pretty scary to see a smoke shell land not too far from you and hear a helicopter in the distance.
Excellent!
Where or how does one get access to the damn archives?
Derp indeed my friend..
Stolkers wintergreen bud, best stuff out there
Has the LG ammo the same propulsion that basic rounds or it's a diffrent system?
How do you aim with Grenade Launchers?

Okay, we'll put you in that situation and we'll see just how you handle the situation and how you'll win.
When you throw a baseball, how do you determine where it will land?
Who was that man just casually strolling into the firefight? And what was he thinking? I'm so confused right now.
I love how that Lady walks by like its nothing xD
That unit is from JBLM (I think). I live in JBLM and Ive past by their barracks almost everyday to go workout at the soldiers field house after school.
Ever used a C7A2, C9, or C6? if so how are they incomparison to what the U.S uses?
are these firefights recent occasions, or do they range from years

I agree with you. BUT ITS "WOULD HAVE".

Accuracy is only important when you know where the enemy is, silly boy.
that m203 shoots a lot further than i thought it would
Was the guy beside the owner of the m4 w launcher a commanding officer?
are you allowed to choose your loud out of your weapon. like optics, etc. I know there are certain rolls that require different attachments. like grenadier needs a m320.
It depends more On the person and their training mate.
Hey can you also please upload times longer video?
Question. How do the men shooting the 320 know how far the target is just by sight?? Respond if you are experienced with such weaponry. Please and thank you.
God I miss this.... I have been out since 2009. I feel like I belong with my brothers.
I love how kids watch this and then think they're experts.
Nekson smith US Army. The Marines don't field multicam patterned uniforms, and Only certain Marines are issued M4A1 rifles, Most are issued the M16A4 or HK M27
id take anything like an M16A4/M203 or an HK SR9 with a medium range blue mil dot rifle scope
when was this fight ?
they have some videos. JUBA for example, but I haven't watched them due to respect for these brave men.
Listen to this guy! He know's what a war is because he is prestige 10 on mw2!
About 2-3 foot diameter since they're using HEDP. Really depends on how thick the wall is.
Can you get any British footage?
In terms of the hearing damage, the Army needs to adapt those camo hunter's muffs that simultaneously block decibels, but not only allow normal hearing but amplify it 5x to 9x with electronic cutoff. Another battery hog, but how about built in solar panels with a transparent camo covering ?
brands: Walkers, Peltor, Howard Leight, Pro Ears, Sportears, etc. etc....
How far do those 203's launch?
Most are recent. Also is you're still not convinced... Look at the capture quality. Cameras have advanced much in the past 4 years.
respect for our troops
