Actually, I once stumbled upon a comment which suggested that the government make it illegal to protest against speakers on college campuses or put trigger warnings on things like books.
Freedom of speech allows for both the speeches and the protests to happen, as long as the protests aren't violent. Arresting the protestors if the rally wasn't violent would violate their freedom to peaceably assemble.
Colleges and universities are companies so they too can set whatever rules they like as long as they don't conflict with the laws.
