FYI: I found a way to override the HDMI Out forcing the Legion Go to its max resolution. The Steam Deck dock I used for this video forced it to that high res, but I tried a J5 USB C to HDMI Adapter and it lets me HDMI Out at 800p now.
Yeah I have a J5 374 HDMI adapter You need to set your display to 1920 by 1040, that's the highest that adapter can do 60. I'm using a TV that shows me the hz Go to windows settings click display and with you TV connected at the top click on display 2 the go down set res to 1920 by 1040 then you can set hz to 60
we are still a few years away from having a really nice handheld gaming device that can handle max settings with 144 fps with most of those games. i cant wait.
@epictalgon I absolutely love it. The only negative thing about it is the battery doesn't last long. But I expected the battery to suck. It sucks on the ROG Ally too. Depending on how demanding the game is and what res/refresh rate you play at, the battery lasts a about 1-2 hours. Plus, if you play on a gaming laptop that's not plugged in, the battery doesn't last long at all either. So I play with it plugged in. I definitely recommend it tho.
@shiv.bhole.bhandari maybe. My S23 Ultra doesn't record the Legion Go's screen very well. There's too much of a glare on the screen. I could use OBS on the Legion Go or a capture card but it sounds like more effort than it's worth
I love that handhelds are making a major comeback. I’ll probably end up getting the steam deck 2 or next Lenovo legion whenever those come out. They seem awesome but I want to wait for the second models
@@dopeeyx7605 the Lenovo legion go looks awesome and it sounds like they are making a lot of updates to their OS I think they will be great at some point in the future
Have to say, the clincher for me was the generous screen size. I had ordered the oled steamdeck, but then after doing research decided i wanted to give this go. Despite a lot of negative reviews I am really having a blast. My caveat is that I wanted a handheld to play more of the older ps3/ps4 era turn based jrpgs. I did try Nier Automata last night, runs great but dont think the bult in controllers work super well for such a precision based game. That would be my one gripe - the controller sticks just feel too loose. Can't see a way round it sadly.

Got a fresh Legion Go today, a nitpick I found was when you make a new character in Elden Ring (possibly other Dark Souls also), you can't make a name nor its easy to load screen keyboard, hence never even loading new save
Its honestly pretty easy to pullup the keyboard once you get the hang of the device. Hit the button on the top right to pull up some settings in an overlay and then simply hit the keyboard option. You dont have to minimize the game or anything like that. I have elden ring aswell and had no issues.
@@alexcrowder1673I gotta stop you right there, chief. The Legion Go has built-in shortcuts for many functions that you would use fairly often. For the on-screen keyboard, it's the left Legion button + B. There is also a shortcut that opens the ctrl+alt+del menu, which is very useful for when your games crash if you set the task manager to always appear on top. If you want to customize them, you can do that as well in Legion Space. The default shortcuts can be checked out with the left Legion button + LB, or you can simply search "legion go shortcuts" on google.
Yeah, he doesnt need to play fo4 in freaking medium like its a steamdeck lol. This thing is over 5 times as many teraflops as a steam deck (8.6 vs 1.6). This thing plays fo4 in ultra easily. I play fallout 4 at 2560x1600 with ultra textures because i set vram to 8gb and not 4.....
Do note that some of these reading may be capable of going higher. I have seen people run Tomb Raider for example at 200 fps but I’ve never gotten it to higher than 60. Might be due to Vsync or some other option I haven’t thought of yet. But these are all the readings I’ve gotten consistently with 4Gs of VRAM and 144hz mode.
Hi there, by any chance can you test out Gundam Battle Operation 2 in steam as i really wanna know how much fps or average fps it can go with. As i wanna get Legion Go but until today, no youtuber or anyone did any review on that game. I only wanna but the legion go to play that game most of the time & occasionally do office stuff. Please and thanks in advanced! :)
For FO4 you can play using ultra textures at full resolution. 2560x1600p so long as you update drivers to 12/24/2023, set framerate to 144hz and change Vram in the bios to 8gb. I encourage you to try it yourself. It sh**s on the competition if you set it up right. Ps: Do not use the 4k texture pack on this device. Not only does it perform worse, it looks worse when scaled from 4k down to the 2,560x1600 screen than the stock ultra textures do. Instead use stock ultra textures and turn RSR on. Idk why RSR still works when the input is already the max resolution of the screen, but it does seem to make it look even better. Make sure your saves are in the same drive as your game is saved too, otherwise you may have slower loading screens.
@@KiraYamatoAngel Minimum GPU requirements for this is a 1050 TI. This device is somewhat more powerful than a 1050 TI. It has plenty of vram too, so you should be ok.
