Israeli corporation Rafael Advanced Defense Systems has unveiled a new precision missile.
Called “Sea Breaker” the missile is a naval and artillery unit “force multiplier, designed to overcome the challenges of the modern warfare arena,” Rafael said in a statement.
It can be used for various purposes including sea-to-sea, sea-land, land-sea or land-land missions against high-value targets .
The missile is touted to be 5th generation weapon and has features that enable it to work in environments where other missiles could fail.
Viewers may note that Rafael Advanced Defense Systems is considered one of Israel’s premier military corporations and is responsible for developing some of the world's leading weapons systems, including the Iron Dome air defense system and the precision-guided Spike missile.

Hell yeah. I’m glad the US is allies with Israel. We share all our best tech with them snd our brothers in arms, the Brits. This is an amazing development! Especially since Russia has been testing its jamming capabilities against our troops in Syria. On the flip side it’s pretty much giving us an good idea how to counter it since it’s being used in a live environment.

Had LRASM been invisible, it would have been a game changer. But the lack of true stealth could be shot down by CIWS.

The LRASM uses a sophisticated array of monitors (that do not emit a signal) allowing the LRASM to detect signals emitted form surface targets radars, Communication, search and target acquisition, that allows it to autonomously avoid those signals as it "works its way" to the target. It flies at various levels on its way to the target but once it approaches emitted signals it goes to 5-10 meters above sea surface while continuing to steer around emitted signals....it isn't limited to a direct line of approach. The LRASM identifies via signal emission and picture recognition its target and ignores distractions such as other vessels or chaff/flares, etc. The LRASM has multiple waypoints at which it can be redirected or tasked by either the original platform or by other platforms or by aircraft and even satellite...and it can make the attack autonomously using recognition software and sensors. Its range is stated as 1,000 nautical miles and carries either a 800 pound or 1,000 pound warhead depending on the particular model. The PLAN nor the Russians have no defense for the LRASM unless they actually visualize it, it's stealthy, it's smart and it can be launched from ships or aircraft (there are several US aircraft already certified to carry and launch LRASM, including F-18's and B-1b bombers). LRASM is a ship's worst nightmare.

It’s only a matter of time before Iran does something stupid again and gets to see up close what the Sea Breaker can really do. Yes, I think this missile would benefit Taiwan also, but must be under strict controls of US based units in Okinawa, Japan.
How will the performance compare to the LRASM?
The LR stands for Long Range, this is a short range cruise missile. This is comparable with the NSM or next generation Exocet, it has just a 300 km range.

Err.. I got my masters in a Scottish university and I signed nothing.... my work was for independent operating drone aircraft to conduct deep area reconaisannce of parts of africa and suchlike... the idea being that if you have people in an aircraft and this has to crashland.. being hundreds of miles from anywhere could be rather unpleasant.. whereas a drone can head off.. and if it doesn't return.. so what.. the AI would corelate known and evolving terrain features to enable it to best guess location .. route.. and suchlike... it worked fine with hardware of the time.. and the drones low speed and good lift capacity meant that it was very budget.. you could have slapped one together for under 10k (that was still real money back in 2000/2001) and just sent it off to wherever... Obviously it was just a recon asset meant for terrain inspection.. with probable use to locate resource types.. such as visible ores... but loading a warhead and detonator into the frame would very simple.... this really is off the shelf components and a bit on good programing and construction.. nout else too it.. and yes.. even today 2021 maybe 50k plus warhead would get you an AI drone that can organise it's own operation based on a simple goal... maybe loiter for a bit to let it's sensors get a good feel for an ambush point between 2 islands.. then just do required circuits out of LOS before returning and running into something expensive with so little warning (and tight vector) that even active CIWS will be utterly useless...

Obviously the concept is not a new one, the Allies even trained pigeons to guide suicide drones in WW2. However, this is a working missile that can fly at high subsonic speeds, not a sub 100mph drone - and has electronics and cameras and fast communication arrays that can withstand launch Gs and temps and will not be blinded by standard laser jamming. I'm assuming it also has extremely precise sensors to be able to navigate 300km (most of it can be over featureless ocean) with no GPS. This is not a trivial undertaking.
