This Hyper Mid Drive 29-inch EMTB is even bigger of a beast than my hardtail. Well built and upgraded parts versus what we are used to from a big box bike.
Awesome video! Thank you. Just bought a 29er mid-drive full suspension @ $999 on sale also. I'm a road biker, this is my first MTB. Looked cool, and like a great deal. So far super happy. I live in Vegas & definitely need a MTB guide, so I'll be looking for your tours. Good luck man!
Thanks, Rod. Anytime you want to meet up, let me know. I will be trying to schedule monthly rides here shortly for beginners to intermediate riders. Thanks again!!
Nice bike. I didn't know hyper was coming out with a mid drive mtb? This is a really nice option for those who don't want to spend $3k on a Giant which is what I was going to do since there is a Giant retail store in my town (Reno). Some folks just want to dip their toes in the ebike world and this ebike is a great entry level introduction to ebikes.
Absolutely. Please subscribe to my channel if you haven't already. I started up a Electric mountain touring company hear in Las Vegas. If you are ever in town come test one out. I have 3 mid drives and 2 hardtails. www.vegashyper.com
Killer bike, I envy you in USA for bike and new car prices, 999 USD for this bike well here in EU for such price you get rear hub motor with worse components (worse fork, tires etc.).
FYI, the price is down to $999.00 I was happy with mine on sale for $1298.00. Great bike for the money. You should prob. grab some more for your business. Then you'll be stocked with parts.
I’ve been looking for an affordable mid-drive for a while. This looks like the answer. I have several hub drive ebikes plus one Giant Bafang mid-drive conversion 35mph hot-rod, but couldn’t bring myself to paying $2,500. at a minimum for a brand name mid-drive ebike. This may be my answer. Plus if I don’t like it can easily return it to local Walmart. BTW, I also got the Allstate 4-year warranty for additional $77.00. No other ebike suppliers offered me such a warranty and I have good experience with Allstate/SquareTrade! KevCentral needs to also review one of these. I’m surprised he hasn’t none it yet. My bike arrives on 6/25. Hope FedEx doesn’t break it! Happy biking and good luck with your new venture!
@@michaelangelo5783 Yeah, I’ve mentioned it to him a few times with no reply. Maybe it’s too expensive for KevCentral but it’s a bargain for a mid-drive.
Hey Tony, Great review! On the Maxxis tires did you run them tubeless and are the rims tubeless capable? I’m ordering these tires for delivery tomorrow and may want to set them up tubeless if possible?
Is it a straight 1 1/8" or modern tapered headset/steerer? Cause that $75 coil/preload fork would have to go and straight forks available nowadays are basically low-end solo air recons that run $250-300.
Brakes are super easy to tune if everything is straight... just tighten barrel adjusters all the way down, loosen the position bolts over rotor, then squeeze levers while tightening. It should only take a few minutes. For $50 you can buy new hydraulic brakes or some cheapo cable actuated hydraulics for half that which are still better than tektro mechs imo. Xtechs are hard to beat for the money. They should come stock on budget bikes. Bikes are too easy to work on to take to a mechanic. I'd rather spend the money I'd pay them on tools, stand etc. You don't learn when you pay others to do it and you don't necessarily know if they did something right.
Very true. However, i run a tour company, and time for maintenance is tough, so taking it into people I know and trust is important to me. I get what you're saying and do a lot of my own work, but having the time is my issue.
I wonder if they will ever offer extra batteries for sale. I've only seen the 7.8ah ones available. 😞 Give a heads up if you see any. And I'll do the same.
Hey Tony, Just curious about what kind of liability insurance you might need for excursion business? If I’m being too nosy won’t be offended if you tell me none of my business. Thanks!
How is the Battery performance for the --- Hyper E-Ride Electric Bike, Mid-Drive MTB Dual-Suspension, 36 Volt Battery, 20+ mile Range, Matte Grey. Can you buy a extra battery for this model? can't find any info on Walmart online. I live near the Gulf Coast and want to make some trips along the beach. Might need a back up battery?
August the battery for this bike is not online as of yet however you can swap out with the other batteries for backup. You can go to hyperbicycles.com to purchase.
Ah you’re right I saw them for about $3,500. After upgrades and installation what do you think one would be into it for I’m just debating to spend the extra for a terk or this thanks

Top speed is 20 mph and not sure on range as these just came out. I normally ride in 1 and 2 and in the desert with technical and hilly terrain. I get anywhere from 15 to 20 miles per charge. However that is on my hard tail as again these have just came out.
I have the exact same bike and get an intermittent 'Error Code 92'. The motor shuts off, but will restart and run again until it repeats the code. I've tried the Hyper tech number, but they've been no help. Have you had this problem?
Morgan. I have had this happen just once but not sure if it was same error code, but it was my magnet on the back wheel after a flat had moved a bit and was not connecting.
