Yeah I watched the live scenes post race, he was sobbing for at least 5 mins, that hope from the earlier stage win completely shattered. And imagine also the disappointment that he couldn't keep up his end of the bargain after Jorgenson and Kelderman set it up so well at the front. Respect to all of the top 3 still!
He let Carapaz and Yates hang on as long as they could, but he attacked Jorgensen as soon as he passed him. No draft given, no mercy for the Visma riders!!
Pogacar passing guys up like they're kids and doesn't even look tired at the end. And the mountain scoring system is weird. Pogi the most dominant by far and now 2nd in that classification.
The way Pogi pulled away from his rivals like they were standing still on that last climb and looked over his shoulder at them was so reminiscent of Lance…. The man did not have a bad day throughout the whole tour. Just absolutely amazing.
I can't wait to see a year where neither Pogi nor Jonas are injured. The last 2 years have been spectacular but always someone starting with a disadvantage. The fact the injured one comes second and still takes forever to crack is crazy.
JV defines what it means to be a Champion. After that crash, he could easily have chosen to sit out the TdF and maybe had a crack at the Vuelta instead and come back fresh and ready next year to reclaim his title, but he chose to go for it, even if he wasn't 100%. I'd have been impressed if he was Top 10 on GC, but to be on the podium, second step, no less, is to be admired and should go down in the folklore of Le Tour.
Vingegaard is doing amazing.. I am so proud of him.. I mean after what he had gone through.. the crash and everthing.. the guy wassnt even sure if he was going to survive.
So I m slovenian but i have a lot of respect for Jonas. He realy is fighting and we all know he had a bad injury! Next year I hope Tadej and Jonas are bouth in top form for the Tour, so we can realy see who is better!
Tadej is so insane right now, it's awesome to watch. Kudos to Jonas for such a brave fight so soon after injury. Hope Carapaz can keep the KOM, he's such a fun rider, always aggressive.
Who ever made this highlight deserves an Oscar, So so good. I'm a huge Pogacar fan but seeing Vingegaard so emotional makes me sad, he just seems like a really humble guy.
As much as I love the Tour, I still have an aching memory of Armstrong and Froome when I watch the Pog perform his super-human feats against excellent riders.
Tadei solidly proved today he is one of the strongest riders in the history of the Tour...Jaw-dropping awe to watch as he easily dropped and destroyed the other elite leaders-as if they're in a totally different lower racing category than Tadei! Feel bad for Jonas, because he is very a good man who wears his heart on his sleeve.
Pogi tearing apart! Jonas has my heart after getting up from the crash in record time and competing against such intensity! This rivalry is going to be massive again next year ! As always extended highlights team you need to be given a pay rise❤
Just watched all the extended highlights from the 2020 tour. Man, what a difference to last and this year's. Thank you to the team behind these cinematic masterpieces
Really look forward to next year when we can perhaps get a chance to see Jonas back to his best taking on Tadej. Going to be an incredible match. Remco is doing not too bad and he could step up next year as well.
@@letoatreides5165 Suddenly he is best in all the disciplines that was his weakness a year ago. And in a year he also raced and won Italia. He has a “special” formula?
@@f3rrand It's not like he wasn't amazing for years. A change in the training coach and nutrition regime can explain this. Also, notice that UAE copied some JV practices this year, with many handlers on the street making sure he gets all the fluid, nutrition, and ice he needs to perform well. Also, the heat was one of Tadej's weaknesses, and this year, I think the massive use of core body sensors by all teams really helped him (look at stage 15; they are constantly cooling him down). On the other hand, it's not like he totally obliterated Jonas, who was in the hospital just a couple of months ago. Next year I believe Remco will join the race for the overall win.

Notable things from today: 1. Descent by G. Martin was absolutely spectacular. He was a sight to behold! That was the quickest descent I’ve seen on those mountains since ever! 2. I waited and waited for Vingegaard or Evenopoel to attack, but they just couldn’t. It’s done, coz this was their best chance to claw back time. 3. Carapaz seems to show more spirit and heart than Vingegaard and Eveno. I think if EducationFirst had tried for GC with him, he might’ve been a bigger challenge to Pogacar than these two and Roglic. 4. I watched live and wanted Jorgensen to win after his fine ride. But it was like taking candy from a baby as Pogacar picked them all up one by one. They should’ve done more in the descent. Losing the stage in the last kilometer is always heart-wrenching. 5. The guys are on bikes fighting against a car. Pogacar is just indomitable in this form 6. I expected more from previous winners like Bernal and co. in this stage. How come none of them even came close?
What a absolutely beautiful stage and a beautiful video. Pogacar should go for the Vuelta.. write history into to the books where it is unwritten... forget the World championships... write history into the books of what was never achieved in the history of cycling.. Pogi fan here but I feel Vinny, those emotions towards the end given what happened to him in the Basque Country and still doing everything he can to defend his title are priceless.
The last scene - so heartbreaking. So hopeful when he beat Pogi to the line early, but even in the high mountains JV was outmatched in his year of the big crash
Vingegaard in "Recovery" mode is currently second in the Tour. Today Remco Evenepoel with equipment and legs did not have the courage to attack the Dane. The differences with the top 4-10 are alarming. It was known that the Slovenian and the healthy Dane are very superior, but is there so much difference between Remco and the others? If Evenepoel goes to La Vuelta he should win with a big advantage and win every race where Pogačar is not.
Almeida and Yates are that behind only because they have been working the entire tour to Pogacar and they are still 4th and 7h. In Vuelta without Pogacar and as team leaders they will be even better and give a good fight to Remco. I dont even think he has a chance with them both attacking him at turns.
They were chilling all day bro.. his team even said lets slow down to give the breakaway a gap. He is tucked behind his team no wind.. its only 140km.. He spent a month at high altitude camp before the tour... this stage is a breeze for him. He is the goat of cycling.
