I bought the same synth as a Crimbo present to myself.....but it's my first synth and actually the only synth I've ever played. So I don't really have a clue what I'm doing and as a result I'm doomed to playing around with presets 🙄 Is there any chance you'd make a tutorial video on this synth? Kind of like a bit more in depth than a regular demo, showing how to make a patch from scratch, and how to use the LFO for dummies. I feel that if I could watch a show & tell like that I'd probably learn enough to be able to get round the synth a lot more comfortably and learn how to use it more easily. Cheers 👍
Just got mine from Sweetwater and I haven’t yet unboxed it !!!! I am too excited to open the gate for this beast to come out ... I am new to Synthesizers but will try to enjoy the presets

They're different beats. For raw analog sound go for the Minilogue, for flexibility in sound design the Cobalt (more LFOs better mod options etc). The minilogue does have the user waves and FX etc.. but for getting up and running and experimenting I feel the Cobalt has the edge.
It sounds very much like a VA synth. So yes, it can do analog-style sounds but remember it’s going about it via algorithms and not free running OSCs ((i.e. all the osc-to-osc modulation is pre-determined / curated)). So you end up in the same ballpark but with a distinct VA flavor (good or bad depending on what you’re after). I’m not sure how I feel about mine yet; though it is a beautiful controller.

the presets are great. Get the app to see how they're made - it'll help you understand how to tweak them to suit.

Do you think it is capable of sounding "analog"? Or is it inevitably digital?
Can you meaningfully tell the difference between an Analog synth and a Digital one? Someone should do blind side by side tests.

Forgot to mention; most of the OSC algorithms fall apart in the lower registers. It’s definitely more suited for brighter sounds.
I suspect this is going to turn into a very expensive video....!
