How about the amount of screen-time for the Utahraptor from Dinosaur King?

I do like how the Utahraptors kept transitioning from puppet to CGI and back again. I didn't know they were puppets. Or…are they?

In the close up shots, they are puppets. But the faraway shots have CGI. Pretty seemless though, huh?

@@80619Chris I recently wondered how they got the puppets to blink.

Why are the Utahraptors in Europe?!

Lackluster hypothesis about North America and Europe sharing the same wildlife during the Early Cretaceous. See, back in the 1990s, it was thought by some that Iguanodon, Polacanthus, and Hypsilophodon existed on both sides of the Atlantic, so the producers speculated that Utahraptor was the same. However, besides the narrator never explaining this tidbit in the episode, we know now that the American Iguanodon and Polacanthus were distinct genera, Dakotadon and Hoplitosaurus, while the American Hypsilophodon is a nomen dubium (as it was based on a single bone).

It was a guess based on the fact that Iguanodon and Hypsilophodon existed on both sides of the Atlantic. It is also due to the fact that a raptor has been found in France near the river called The Var that was named Variraptor after The Var and found in Late Cretateous rocks of France. This may be a clue to the fact that maybe if Utahraptor did live in Euorpe in Early Cretateous, it might have evolved into Variraptor, but at the moment it's just a guess. We need more evidence!
