Thank you! It’s so addictive! I’m obviously biased, but I love having a Cricut!
I agree, you make it look so easy. Great video. I have wanted to find someway to design flowers because I like decorating my kitchen during Cinco due Mayo. This is perfect and I"be been thinking of buying a Cricket, but was on the fence. Thanks. Great video
Thanks Emily! I hope you enjoyed it! If you end up buying a Cricut, I have tons of beginner videos that will help!

Jeez I didn't even know there was such a thing as a crafters cruise hahaha that sounds like something my mom would love lol
It was a one time thing, but maybe someday we can put together another one because it was a blast!
Amazing 👏
this seems so fun to make ☺️❣️ thanks for sharing !
They're super fun! You're welcome!
Very nice idea👍I wish you success
Thank you for watching! I appreciate it.
THANK YOU!!! I have watched numerous rolled flowers tutorials (some by big names) and no one has shown the petal rolling technique! This will definitely improve my paper flowers!
One question though - WHAT cruise line hosts the Crazy Crafter's Cruise?? I would love to go on the next one!!
You're welcome! Pretty cool huh? It makes a huge difference! It was organized by a travel agent rather than the Cruise line. It was really fun!
Super
You have a great channel!!!
Thank you! 🥰
Very beautiful. You are really talented. I am going to try to make this for mothers day. Just lost my job and short on cash. So i am looking for creative ideas for gifts.
Aw thank you! Yes this would be a great cost effective Mother’s Day gift! You can attach rolled flowers to a canvas, wood sign, or shadow box. You can also add stems on the flowers and create a bouquet that she can keep forever! I have a video on that as well.
Thank you so much!
I look at all the flowers and I’m in awe of all of them. But I haven’t tried to make them!
It’s easy!!
This made it so easy thank you!! Would you know where to buy those clear wooden frames
You're welcome! I'm not sure what you mean by clear wooden frame.
Great video!!!!
Thank you!
Very pretty! I really want to try. But what do you cut on your cricut? How do you get that shape to print?
Search for rolled paper flowers in Design Space, or upload the SVG I linked in the description. It looks like a spiral shape. Then you cut it on your Cricut. You might want to watch this tutorial on using Design Space: ua-cam.com/video/0UN6lgmXQnk/v-deo.html
Thank you for this tutorial It’s so thorough. My only thing is I can’t figure out to cut them on my circuit maker I’m new to the circuit world lol do you have a video of that?
Yes, I have an updated video here: ua-cam.com/video/JGv4AkSQKbA/v-deo.html
They have a template
Wow a crafting cruise.... Did everyone there had to bring their cricut? Would love to go one one of them
It was not required but many did! It was a blast!
amazing! I want to make this for a shadow box I am planning for my mom's birthday. however I do not have a quelling tool, do you have any suggestions as to what else I can use?
You can use Cricut’s reverse tweezers since they can hold the paper without you having to pinch it the entire time.
A Bobby pin works too. Not as well as a quilling tool though.
Ooh that’s a great idea! Great tip!
Hi,, I have a question.. what size Quilling tools do you need to making cardstock paper? because I see there is soo many.. thanks!!
That’s a great question! These are from Amazon and they don’t list a size, but here’s the set I have: www.amazon.com/gp/product/B06XV7N8C9/ref=as_li_tl?ie=UTF8&camp=1789&creative=9325&creativeASIN=B06XV7N8C9&linkCode=as2&tag=divinedesig03-20&linkId=bba8c51b4ae2eddc9692aa0bfb4bb2be
Could I make a bigger rolled flower? And how would I just glue strands together or should I just do the pedal method? I just want some around 6 inches
Hi Rebecca! Here’s a video with a better method for making larger paper flowers. ua-cam.com/video/SMaktke7CGo/v-deo.html
Beautiful!
Thank you!
Hello! I was wondering which png file did you use? I downloaded the one in your description box and picked the closest one, but it didn’t come out like this style. So is the template you used from a different bundle?
Thank you for this tutorial 😇 This is my first attempt to paper flowers and the one I did is cute but not as full as the one in the video.
It’s the orange one at the bottom of the photo. I don’t remember which file it was from the bundle. Sorry about that!
@@DIYAlex Okay, that’s what I thought, guess I just need to work on my rolling technique to get the fullness you have. Thank you for your help!💓
Nice work and thank you for sharing your video with us,I have questions for you:
How did you make the first leaves or the edges of flowers.
What do you call the tool that looks like a pen ? Thanks
I have an updated video that shows you how to cut the flowers: ua-cam.com/video/JGv4AkSQKbA/v-deo.html
The tool is called a quiling tool and it’s linked in yet video’s description!
Do you think this can be glued on an inkjet printed canvas? This is beautiful! Awesome DIY!
It definitely could be!
How to cut the paper to this design?
ok where did you get the file to cut the shape?
never mind i found the link thanks
Hello darling I would like to know what kind of paper should I use for the shadow box frame and what size should I cut the flower for a 20*20 shadow box thank you ❤️
Use the backing to measure the size of paper you’ll need. The size of the flowers is personal preference ☺️
Rolled flowers are 25% the size from when they are cut, so a 4" cut will equal a 1" rolled flower. You would need 400 1" flowers if you lay them in a 20x20 grid. If you used 2" rolled flowers, you would need 100 in a 10x10 grid
That’s a great rule of thumb! Thanks!
Hello! I just purchased a cricut and was wondering what blade did you use? The regular fine point blade or the deep point blade for card stock?
Hey Kimmy! For 65lb cardstock like I"m using in this video, you can just use your regular Fine Point Blade.
What size was this flower?
Oh my goodness, best video for me to learn! Yesterday it took me all day to make flowers and I lost the pattern😬 I couldn’t make any more.. good news is I found you just now and I only burned my finger once,😂 Do you need to spray the flowers? My husband loves the flowers I made and couldn’t believe it! Lol but he asked if we needed to spray them?
I’m so glad it was helpful! No, there’s no need to spray the flowers with anything.
@@DIYAlex TY!
How do you make the rolled paper? Could you do a tutorial on that??
You import the SVG file into Cricut Design Space. I will have to do a new tutorial on that! Great idea!
Hi Alex, how did you cut out your paper flower on your cricut? I’m a beginner so I don’t know how to get the outline to do the rolled paper flower.
Hi! Here is an updated tutorial showing the full process: ua-cam.com/video/JGv4AkSQKbA/v-deo.html
What is the best card stock to use when making paper flowers ?
I like 65lb cardstock
How long does it take you to make one flower with rolled edges?
To actually roll and glue it, I guess it takes around 5 minutes per flower depending on the size of it.
Where did you get your pen that you were using?
It’s a quilting tool from Amazon! You can find the link in the video’s description. ☺️ let me know if you can’t find it!
Using the 8 in template to cut and after you were done, about what size was the completed flower?
I would say it was between 2-3 inches. You can adjust how tightly it’s rolled before gluing to make it a desired size ☺️
DIY Alex thank you!!!!! I think that’s exactly what I need! I cut one 5.5 and it was too small!
Perfect! You got this!
What size rose template would be best for a 12x12 shadow box?!
I would make the cut as wide as the paper allows so that you can make less flowers to fill up your shadowbox.
DIY Alex Thank you!!! 💜
This is definitely the best video I've seen. You explain everything real good
Thank you!
how do you get your petals so smooth? Mine end up being bent no matter how tight I do/don't make it
Are you using a quiling tool when you fold the paper? That helps with keeping them smooth a lot.
Where can I get a quilling pen like yours and is it a certain size where you roll the paper.????
I got mine from Amazon. It’s linked in the description.
This is supper cool. Where can we buy this flower cutting machine?
I used a Cricut machine. You can get them on amazon in my Amazon store! www.amazon.com/shop/diyalex
What pattern in the teal flower please
You can find it here: tidd.ly/3kAxyDW
Have you ever used construction paper or colored paper to make your flowers? Cardstock can be so expensive in some places. Great video.
I haven't used construction paper. I think it would rip easily, so I prefer cardstock. I buy my 65lb cardstock at Michael's or on Amazon and I think the prices are pretty reasonable!
Can i use silhouette portrait 3 to make paper flowers?
I’m sure you can, but I don’t have a silhouette so I can’t offer any advice! Sorry!
Where do you get the flower design?
Etsy! tidd.ly/2YIyj3F
What setting do use to cut it!
It depends on the cardstock. For 65lb use the light cardstock setting, but for 80lb use medium cardstock setting.
Is there an easy way to do this without a circut machine?
Yes, you would just hand trace and cut out the stencil.
Looking for the template on cricut design space. What is it under?
Search for rolled paper flower in Design Space!
Hi, what size is that beautiful flower that you made? Thank you for the video. 🙏
Thank you! It is about 2.5 inches in diameter.
@@DIYAlex Thank you!
Dis is paper flowers I suppose. Very nice. But then I have a computerized embroidery machine. How can I make flowers on dis machine for any designer tops. Pls update a video
I’ve never worked with an embroidery machine so I don’t know. Sorry about that!
You say the width is 8.5 inches? What is the height? I mean as in size for the cut on the cricut. When I put 8.5 inches wide it puts the height to 11.39 is that right? Thanks!
I honestly don’t remember! I’m sorry! It should be more circular than that, but I don’t remember the exact dimensions.
I'm new to cricut. How and where did you get you pattern pls
Etsy! It is linked in the video's description.
Where do you get the template from?
I got it from Etsy! tidd.ly/3kAxyDW
I'm a new to this. Where do I find the pattern to cut???
You can buy it from this site, or search for rolled paper flowers in Cricut Design Space if you're an Access subscriber. designbundles.net/mintymarshmallows/219612-15-rolled-paper-flowers-svg-cut-files-instant-down/rel=2yH9Zq
where did you get paper pattern
You can find it here: designbundles.net/mintymarshmallows/219612-15-rolled-paper-flowers-svg-cut-files-instant-down/rel=2yH9Zq
Low temp hot glue??
That would work fine too!
How do I know what size to make the cut?
Make it as big as you can for the paper you have.
Beezus, look @ that ring! Someone is VERY happily married.
haha that's absolutely true! He has amazing taste!
Oh my gosh I spend hours this afternoon trying to roll flowers. Watched Jennifer Maker, still no success. Thanks to your video my flowers are coming out beautiful!! Dropping them and adding more glue, then rolling the petals out has made all the difference!! And this is Ava not James!!
I’m so glad this was helpful! ☺️
what is the template in circut?
Search for rolled paper flowers in Cricut’s images.
I'm sorry I didn't get the size you used thank you
I sized it as large as the paper, so it was 8.25” wide ☺️
What size is that
What are you referring to?
What size did you use?
Britgad06 If you’re asking about the size I made the template, it was either 8 or 8.25 inches to take up as much paper as possible ☺️ I used 8.5 x 11 cardstock.
@@DIYAlex Thank you I ended up playing with some sizes and made my own shadow box last night!
That sounds adorable! If you post it please tag me, I would love to see it!
@@DIYAlex I messaged you on fb with a photo:)
I didn’t see your replies until after I got your message! Thanks so much for reaching out! It’s so fun to see projects that others have made after watching a tutorial!
How can you do it without a cricut?
You can hand cut the file out of cardstock.
Why do I have to pay for the file on design space when I have Cricut access?
That should only be happening with licensed images if you have an active Cricut Access subscription. Otherwise contact Cricut Customer Service.
What size are these?
They are about 2.5 inches wide when rolled.
Whats the name of the needle?
It's called a quiling tool. The one I used is linked in the video's description!
I do not have .
You do not have what?
Nice but how to cut that paper into that shape, that's the key. Making the flower is not difficult I think. Sorry.
Here's another video showing you how to cut the flowers: ua-cam.com/video/JGv4AkSQKbA/v-deo.html
