Now I see how this was Numan's crucial turnaround album, sounding like the lovechild of Pretty Hate Machine (NIN) and Floodland (Sisters of Mercy) while keeping its own identity due to Gary's fantastic voice and his signature 80s synth preferences.
The combination of the metalic voice, the industrial backing and the often emotional lyrics is extremely moving. I am so glad he is still making music
This is when I said "He's Back!!!!!" . The previous several albums showed little sparks of him, kept me interested. Now.........unbelievable and well deserved!! I am seeing him in Vancouver in May. I have never missed him when he has been in the neighbourhood Vancouver/Seattle/Portland. This will be my 9th time seeing him since 1980. Can't wait!!! All the best Gary!
For me, this album saved Numans career.
Absolutely love "The seed of a lie" 🖤
I love that cut- probably my favorite Numan song: I even sing it to put my GreatGrandSon down to nap
Brilliant artiste!!! Saw Gary in Bristol many moons ago. Fantastic!!!
One of numans best albums. Very underated and lacking the broad acknowledgement it deserves.
Couldn’t agree more.
Somehow it reminds me of Depeche's
Songs of Faith and Devotion
It was officially the inspiration
Tyler is so right....this was the start of the Numan resurgence. Cream always rises to the top!
When I listen to him I only start with Sacrifice and later. Life is too short to waste it with older work :)
@@dmicsa Films and M.E. were great, this is just recycled Enigma, and the copycat garbage after Pleasure Principle has me doubting he even wrote his original hits ... if that's true, no wonder bowie hated him.
Glad I have a CD! Really awesome album.
One of the best comeback albums of all time.
That should be a nonsense statement given that it was only 2years since his previous album but you’re absolutely correct.
And it set the tone fora slew of fantastic albums, really love Jagged but this one holds a special place.
its just Enigma cycled thru industrial sample-sets
@CQ CQ that showed

Can't wait for the re recordings of sacrifice exile and pure...
Does Gary not like this particular album though? I wonder why it's not on streaming services? It's receiving the same treatment as his mid-career stuff.
@@ealing456 It's because he released it on his old record label "Numa", since it went out of business it is not on streaming services due to the rights (same case with Berserker, The Fury and Strange Charm as a result). But when the re releases come out then perhaps they will finally be on there?
@marioandtyler ah, I was wondering why those albums weren't available for streaming, Berserker and The Fury have some of my favorite songs on there
Numan had some dark songs in the early '80s, and somewhat in-between, but I feel like this is where he returned to really producing from the heart, even if it had changed and he just accepted it.
so beautiful. so many elements seem subdued. belongs in a restored cathedral. this soars.
Whisper of Truth is just lovely
Man, this is a very ethereal trip.. So calm❤️❤️❤️
So calm... Very calm and Full of Harmony.☮️☮️☮️☮️☮️☮️✌️🎸✌️
When I saw this in a record store in Australia I had no idea he had new material, have CD, CD extended, A Question of Faith and Absolution CD singles - really special album.
Can't wait for the re recordings of sacrifice exile and pure... Going to be quite something 🎹 🎶 🎸 🎤 🎶
This is easily one of the best albums I’ve ever heard
Not available on Spotify, for some reason. I hope that changes.
Still not available, just checked today
Not available even on his official channel here... ((
Nor Apple Music

Brilliant album. Love it
I LOVE GARY NUMAN MUSIC , PERFORMANCE LIVE I LIKE SO MUCH.😎😎🎸🎸🎸🎸✌️ GREETING FROM BRAZIL - MAY,2022.
Gary's come back album,love itxxx
this one is the extended version which is at times a very different listening experience to a regular version
This album was such an amazing kick in the ass after his lighter-weight Metal Rhythm, Outland, and Machine & Soul albums (I’m not criticizing those, btw).
He's said himself that Machine & Soul is a pile of shit. I'm a very recent convert to Numan (I've known OF him for more than 30 years, but didn't start actually listening to him until a couple of days ago) so I haven't heard it myself. I absolutely love his new stuff, though. Savage is a truly stunning album, and what I've heard so far of Intruder is just incredible.
Wouldn't really blame you if you were tbh. Those albums are questionable.
Check out his no audience live gig on stabal TV... Worth the subscription on its own.. Amazing.. Trust me
Tasty album. This is seriously good shit.
To keep it refreshing to younger gen which have altered beliefs world is different from 80s this album definitely works extremely well
When Gary Numan woke up... again!
Awesome piece of work
such a great album
Like the beginning..I saw his Irving plaza show tripping
Amazing album🖤
Thank you!!!!!!
Looking forward to Gary releasing his re-recording of this album soon!
Has he said when? I suppose next year some time?
@@marioandtyler Vaughn George reported Gary is remastering and re-releasing Sacrifice, Exile, and Pure, but that interview was two years ago already. No word as to when. My guess is not until he's done touring? Looks like Gary's tour is running through April 2024 so far. I have my tickets!
Very special stuff, thank you! This is definitely inspiring for my new solo music project UV 🎤
Thank you very much.
Thanks for this one ❤
Amazing
under-rated "comeback"
I have not heard this yet. Went straight from cars to Exile. Been like Halloween in Heaven, X Mas in he'll ever since.
I love Numan's atmosphere, it is so gloomy and erotic
Can't get the CD for love nor money at the moment unless it's silly money of course, lets hope it gets re-issued again, reading Evolution at the moment , enjoying it.
I'm finding that quite a lot lately. CDs I want to buy are ridiculous prices.
Being re released shortly👍
@@davekemp9193 Do you know when ? I mean the album can be found here and there if you search hard but at astronomical prices so I'd rather wait if that reissue is imminent ;-)
@@vince4863 I don't know when yet but there's been talk on a few groups about it,the sooner the better cos &35 to £45 is a bit too steep for my liking😞
It’s Revolution!!
Yo thanx!
It's not even on spotify for some reason :o
Numan is back peep’s
He has been for over 20 years 😜
Love and Napalm best song he wrote since telekon days
Why is this not on Spotify?
Gaz wrote in his book that he made the mistake of mastering Sacrifice himself cos he was so low in funds.
Does anyone think it sounds worse off because of this?
It don't sound worse at all due to that, though I'm not surprised he said that. Numan don't always give himself credit when he should. Just another reason he's so relatable.
i think it sounds good
@@mikemurdock7234 we’re our own worst critics.
Wowwy
👍🇦🇷
Is that the 1999 Eagle Records remaster?
I think so by the tracklist. Absolution is on the '99 remaster according to wikipedia.
I appreciate you uploading this but god damn those commercials in the middle of songs are annoying....great album tho
