Kafka is FINALLY out after being teased to us since the very first minute of the game. A lot of discussion is going around regarding if her focus around damage over time makes her too niche to be considered top tier. We'll be taking a look at her gameplay to see if she's actually good or just a waifu pull.

Apologies for reuploading the video. I think it's interesting that they made her numbers so high she also functions with Crit. It really feels like Mihoyo did the number crunching because every simulation I have seen shows that building Crit and building Attack are extremely close in terms of damage. Obviously I still think she is better paired with one other DoT character + a Harmony, but HyperCrit Kafka with two Harmony supports are clearly good enough for endgame content since she can 0 Cycle clear MoC
Dont overlook a team built around follow up attacks. Her, Himeko, Herta, and a healer, actually make a real nasty team.

Actually if you want to make a follow up team the best contender is Clara. I would say kafka is not the best for a follow up team, i think if you want a full follow up team, clara with march is the best, you shield clara and almost always she will be targeted, witch procs clara AND march follow up, then you can add himeko if you really want. Himeko and herta are fun but i do t think build herta is worth it.

Indeed all the Stellaron Hunters so far are in my opinion the most fun and interesting group of characters there are. The way they made it so their kits tell how they are as characters is nothing sort of genious, let's hope they keep this philosophy going forward and also make Elio a cat, there's no way he isn't cat right?
Don't forgot Stellaron hunter have character name "Sam" we don't know who was him/her ? Maybe that the cat
@@yoiko89 Sam is girl, SW refered to them as such. It's the one that looks like a secretary, the one with the mini skirt in the Kafka art, I'm guessing it's her cause all the known Stetellaron Hunters are in Kafka's art hence why I say Elio has to be the cat, if not Mihoyo is afraid of success.

I am so glad I pulled for Kafka, she gave me literally everything I wanted. Sampo, Luka, Mommy herself, and even her light cone to top it all off. I don't care how many more resources I have to pump into building a viable DoT team, I am super hype for the day when I can finally use her at her best. BOOM
One of the most turning point for me watching the original video was the outdated information (which is literally one of the main points that prevent me from being invested into the video). Kudos for you to redo it again to keep up with the most up to date information.

She looks very strong but I must stay strong against the temptation as a Jingliu follower.

I like your Star Rail character breakdowns. They're similar to your Genshin ones, but I think the perspective of analyzing the character upon release rather than retrospectively is interesting in a different way to your other videos.

I absolutely adore Kafka and her play style! She’s very rewarding for me specifically since I spec a lot into DoT units anyways, so she fits the way I play~ (I’m also a Nilou main in Genshin)

I main sampo and the nihility path so i was kinda obligated to pull for her. I'm glad that I did and I had achieved my highest damage with her. Her and sampo easily became my main team
It's back! Yes she has great pull value! (I guess the Eidolons were mistaken or..? I was wondering)
They buffed her by making 1 of her Eidolon part of base kit

I got Kafka recently and she was the only person I wanted and I'm very happy I did, she's amazing!
Kafka must have been the easiest pull of my entire life. Obviously she's my favourite character, but also, Sampo is my second favourite, and I've been playing DoT teams with him and Serval ever since the game dropped. Never had I been happier about a character's kit dropping and it being exactly built for me to use

Oh man. Now im curious how their going to design bosses and adds that counter her. Being that shes OP and probably will be for a long time. I just hope we dont get a reverse power creep situation here. You know like that other game. Cause we know they arent nerfing anything

As much as I want her... the big problem many have glossed over is the resource commitment to building a suitable party. If you haven't built Sampo and others and have to build Luka along with her... yeah, doesn't seem efficient while resources are still at a premium for most of us.
EOD gamer posted a video showing jing yuan vs Kafka in a hyper carry team comp both using ftp light cones. Even with a team comp and moc buff that favored jing yuan, Kafka out cleared him by like 3-4 cycles.. thats not even giving her a dot support. She’s absolutely AMAZING. She’s also rated 3rd in single target damage, only following yangqing and seele by a few thousand. And then she’s ranked as #1 in aoe damage.
What's the team for that aoe DMG I'm curious
@@robertharp16 a tradition hyper carry team. Tingyun, bronya, luocha, and then Kafka or jing yuan. A team that heavily favors jing yuan. EVEN with that advantage Kafka pulled out ahead by several cycles.
the only time another DoT unit is going to powercreep kafka is when that DoT unit can also detonate DoTs, which i doubt will ever happen
In which case wouldn't you simply run both at the same time and pull double duty DoT detonations? Assuming of course that other unit could also consistently apply their own DoTs.
Amazing, I already like DOT characters, a plus to my main reason for pulling.

Everyone keeps saying “Kafka with Sampo makes Sampo more viable” but I really enjoy just using Luocha, Silver Wolf, Blade & Kafka for my main team.
She looks like Eula which I love, and her gameplay is like Nilou whom I enjoy using a lot . Gl on your pulls everyone!

Once my Pela is built im gonna try Kafka, Silverwolf, Pela, Gepard. I maybe switch out Silverwolf for Sampo, since i like Silvewolf with my Seele
Its interesting you didnt like Sampo as a character. Imma try and share my thoughts on why i like him eventhough thats not related to the vid. He is a bit of the shady dealing steryotype character. Will help you if its to his benefit and even gives you discounts because you give him bussiness. Does leave the feeling of being used but deals with the devil and all that. He honestly frustrates me a bit but i like him as a character lol

you can still easily slot in harmony characters, when enemies have fire weakness asta is insane with kavka, and a lot of other characters. It's not like you "need" a team of 3 dot chars with one healer, that's bs. But at least one other dot char is definitely more than recommendet
For anyone out there wondering how much substats you need to make her optimal, word on the street is with all her traces maxed out, you'll only need around 11% Effect Hit Rate in sub stats. EHR body is not recommended. As for speed I've heard to outpace MoC you need 134. Her base speed is 100 and a maxed out boot with Speed main stat gives 25 speed, so you only need about 9 worth of speed on sub stats to make her great. G'luck out there for everyone pulling/building!

I’m probably one of the few who pulled for Kafka after trying out her demo and seeing how good she is in combat. I wasn’t interested in her as a character. Sure her voice is hot, but she’s not my type. She is a killing machine though, and she’s worth it for that. Plus, I have both Blade and Silver Wolf, and I’m happy to have the set. So going to use them together. Sampo can still go get lost as far as I’m concerned.
Update: Thank the Aeons for little Gui. She makes it possible to build a Kafka DOT team without using Sampo.

Got e1 Kafka and her lightcone in 41 pulls collectively. Already have e6 Serval and got e2 Sampo during the pulls. Had materials ready for Kafka but none for Sampo

I know someone with Kafka and I tried her out, she is amazing.
Also Weakness break is easy using Silver Wolf, Natasha, Bronya, and Seele.
Silver Wolf Skill then Bronya Skill then Seele Skill = half of weakness of most mini boss
Silver Wolf Skill plus Bronya Ult plus Bronya Skill on Seele plus Silver Wolf ult plus Seele Ult plus 3 successive Skill use = Shield shredded or outright dead enemies

Did Sim world 7 with kafka being 50 ilvl her ulti did 125k, with nih path. Her team's nice.
She seems literally built to be anti-f2p. You need a lot of investment for both her and your entire team and her eidolons are insanely good so mihoyo is obviously using her as a cash grab. "She is fine at E0" is a BS argument and we all know it. You always want your characters to be as strong as they can but can be okay with it if the difference isn't too big on each of them. Like if E6 is crazy and the rest are meh most people will be content with just getting the character. With kafka you need ALL of them. It's like mihoyo saying "Keep pulling! Keep pulling!"
I don't have anything against anyone pulling for her but This situation annoyed me so much that I wanted to rant about it. Hope anyone who wants her gets instant 6 copies because F*** mihoyo for this.
It's a PvE game. If you can clear MoC with E0 then E0 is fine.
As a Sampo main since day 1. Man, what a character. I'm one of those that has the "character appeal over meta" and having Kafka makes it so that I can enjoy my main, without giving up on a strong line up. I love Kafka, both as a character and as a Unit.

trying to find a kafka video without the man calling her mommy or waifu is so difficult, I CRINGE SO BAD.
She is a must pull for Honkai Impact 3rd fans. She is part of the story there. Although she isn't a playable character, she is a Stigmata set (Stigmatas in HI3 are like 3-piece armor sets).

I don't have my boi Sampo yet, but once I have him I can make my dream team a reality. Kafka him and Luka will slay... once I get good relics for them, istg I can't ignore missions like in Genshin anymore
Absolutely love her kit, im a big fan of characters that does not need crit for damage so she is a must pull, not to mention poison and damage over time characters are super fun in general

Meanwhile me completely ignoring the event with Physical MC main dps and 3 supports (Kafka is amazing but as a new player at rank 34, i think event-banners are more of endgame thought, Normal warp banner has all the BASIC characters and really helpful Light cones)

I just pulled for blade on both my accounts so I practically have zero pulls but I'm still planning on pulling on the banner coz I don't have both sampo and well, luka yet. Serval eidolons are welcome too.
I will wait for her rerun, as I still have a bunch of characters to upgrade and build. Resources are also running low at the time.

Not having more 5* DoT characters in game (yet!!) might be a downside but for me it’s actually a good thing. I don’t feel the need to pull for more 5* characters and instead I can focus on 4* that I haven’t even planned to build before!!
She's good but at the expense of having to build a whole other character or characters which nothing wrong with that at all. The main question is will she last forever, is there the possibility of another DoT character doing more which granted I guess you can just put them with Kafka so forget that. But anyway will DoT last forever? Well in Genshin we thought shields would last forever and while they have the devs added enemies that completely negated shields. Now I know this isn't Genshin and this is the Honkai team but they could add enemies that will remove debuffs, maybe a boss that can do such as well. Obviously the answer to this is simple in that she would last a while but you would have to switch off her from time to time. Honestly I don't know why I asked in the first place if the answer was so simple I guess all I ask for now is please don't call DoT the new meta because of one character, at that point everything is meta because everything is good for different situations.
Anyways I wanna wish luck for those rolling for her I would but I absolutely dislike her personality and I'm saving for Jingliu anyway so yeah. Please feel free to gather your torches and spears because in these games if someone hates your favorite character then they deserve death apparently man I hate how this community has become but I guess the same can be said for any community for any game.

Just look the calculation 😂 about the dmg. She was in 1st place on AOE scenarios in current state and 3rd place in Single target.
I see you like Jingliu so you should pull her if you don't like Kafka it's up to you beside don't push your mindset on this UA-camr. He said what he experience and his personal opinion about the character.
Beside Kafka is DoT enabler we don't know when Black swan release. She will give Kafka more direction in DoT team.
This is how they will always handle power creep i.e. introduce bosses whose mechanics negate the most meta pick. This is why current MoC feature multiple bosses or bosses with high HP adds, because it makes using Seele more awkward. They will obviously introduce bosses with self-cleansing mechanics in the future, that's just a given. The question is more when rather than if.
But yeah, I feel you about saying any ounce of open criticism about Kafka. I think it's unfortunate how rabid a fan community with regards to that sadly, because a person should be allowed to state their opinion about something as long it's done respectfully, and still have their perspective be considered valid even if others don't agree with you.
I'm with you bro. I think she's good but I definitely hate her personality and her fans too who are just hating on jy and other characters cuz of their waifu lol. They'll get triggered if you'll say anything about their waifu that's the thing I hate about GI and star rail community.
I was trying to get a Luka. I was at 0 pity. I ended up getting Kafka at 20 pity, and didn't get a single Luka until another 40 pity. Was skipping Kafka for Dan Heng IL. Now I have to build Kafka, Luka, and continue prefarming for IL.

I use the stellaron hunters together in 1 team with with a healer, sure it may not be meta/super synergistic but I love them

There are a bunch of tests and videos here showing that if you build kafka the same as you would a jing yuan it would be more effective and stronger. Which says a lot bc this moc buff heavily benefits him

I have a weird relationship with Kafka as a character. I'm not particularly drawn to her "dommy mommy" personality, but i love her gameplay and her actual design. I pulled on the banner just wanting my Luka and to then move on, but wound up getting her on accident. Haven't built her yet since I told myself I was gonna build Luka first (he was my most highly anticipated unit for this patch) but she does hit like a freight train. The shittiest thing about her is she'll likely do more dmg than JY with less investment, and i spent so long to gear my JY perfectly.
JY is just a horrible unit. He’s super cool but he is terrible compared to other banners. Sad but true. Needs a buff or he’ll continue to be outclassed by everyone.
@@sillylittleguy43_ knowing hoyo, they wont buff JY directly or any numbers tweaks, they may just make a new relic set that is tailor made for him, but my worry is that itd make other characters even better than him, so itd have to be SUPER tailor made.
I see kafka for dot as what nilou is for bloom. Extremely niche limited choices but strong in that niche that will get less niche with more units

Everyone sleeps on hook she does 100 percent chance pf burn on her skill and does more damage to burned enemies also look at her!
I got her both Kafka and Signature Light Cone (Beside She is the only one reason why i play honkai star rail)

shes good but i dont know her full potential yet, definitely not bad. she starts slow but proceeds to hit harder with more dots applied
You can give her less speed than your other dot characters so they can apply theirs before her
It's easy just applied your DoT and Explode it using kafka skill or Ultimate (Every Dot Applied will deal dmg and applied Shock DoT will stay if ultimate was use 2 turns)
what so good about her is if you pull her as waifu, she still back you up with decent meta use.
One thing that people are not saying about kafka is that her animations are FAST! You guys know how when you turn that de fast combat hsr animations look so fucking slow? That is not true for kafka, yea of course is slower but overall the animations are very fluid even when not sped up
she's alright, if you have the resources to build her, and then build a dot team
As someone who has blade and his light cone I hope she's decent with him it's all I want I also have silver wolf are these basically the harbingers of this game
Well the argument of future dot chars can also be used to not pull for her .
You can wait and see if you like those chars then pull kefka in her rerun to make them stronger

Silver wolf doesn't have damage over time, even if she is the one breaking, quantum break is NOT considered as DoT
Silverwolf applies new weaknesses to targets, which makes them easier to break for SW's allies, which often leads to DoT, indirecty making SW a DoT support

E6 sampo, E1 luka, E2 kafka i have and oh god i hit 30k with kafka e with like 1 turn of a setup
uhmmm Idk why nobody's talking about having asta in her team in replacement for luka or sampo. She can apply burn, speed buff and atk buff. She's a great team mate for her
Asta only has DOT on her auto attacks and it's not even guaranteed it's 80% chance. Replacing Sampo or Luka for her on a dot team nerfs your dmg hard. Sampo and Luka are amazing for dot teams and buff dot damage big time while adding tons of dot themselves very easily
