As a book historian whose done a good bit of research on material support (paper, parchment, etc), the "20 sheets of paper (usually papyrus)" bit is cracking me up.

I would love to see how you make an actual scroll, doesnt have to be for this case, but something cool like you always make!
You can also use this to hide a modern plastic bottle when you're out on a trip to a Renaissance fair and don't want to break interesting while still being able to restock your water

Love this! Maybe consider adding a liner of slick fabric like satin or something, so the scrolls slide in and out easier. I'm curious if that is even an issue.

Excellent document tube, but I'd strongly suggest that you dye the inside as well. Makes it look a little better when you open it.
Do you think I could adapt this to make one the size of a poster tube? I’m a fashion student and often have to carry large paper patterns across campus, but I don’t like folding them because the creases make them less accurate. I’ve been thinking of making something like this to protect a rolled up pattern, but every scroll case I’ve seen is about this size. I love your channel ever since I stumbled across the expanding backpack video and I’ve been gradually watching through your videos. They’re all very creative, and your enthusiasm is infectious
the bigger it is, the more difficult it'll be to manipulate, but it's definitely doable. you might have a hard time finding big sheets of leather
