    Our family has had an over abundance of mint growing this year. Finally, we decided to do something about it & looked up how to make mint extract. Your video popped up & we put our mint making hats on. To our surprise, you have so kindly reminded us that we do indeed know how to make this lol We are so honored & appreciative of all the kind words. We hope your mint has been growing marvelously! God bless!

    • @bustedkeaton

      Tinctures are extracts, a regular extract like from the store has non-alcoholic stuff added to it.

    • @libertyforme4336
      @libertyforme4336 3 роки тому +2

      Tincture is made with only alcohol at a 1:3 ratio & usually used for medicinal purposes. Extracts are Extracts can be made with different products. The human is not doing the extracting. He chose alcohol, it extracts, or leaches the flavor out of the mint, about a 1:1 ratio.

    This looks great, and I can't wait to try it. Only, I'm lost when it gets to the honey part. So, I understand the vodka and mint together for a month (maybe two?), and then how much of the mint mixture do you add to how much honey and water? Thanks in advance. Keep up the good work!

      It won’t be quite the same, but you can fill a jar with chopped mint leaves and cover them in a neutral cooking oil, like sunflower oil, and it’ll extract enough of the flavor to use in cooking.
