  • There's grace to face- CHRISTIAN DATING! We all want a healthy christian relationship but what exactly does that entail? It definitely looks a lot different than dating as a non-believer, that's for sure! In this episode, our host Emily Joan invites her now fiancé, BJ , to reflect on their dating season and answer questions from listeners about Christian dating. We are hoping this episode inspires couples out there to pursue purity as well as the single folks to search for a partner who will bring them closer to God.

Wow idk how I found you guys but I’m glad I did. You answered a question that has been in my head & that has been hurting my relationship because, I as well was mad at my partner because I felt like he wasn’t leading us. I am always the one to initiate prayer or bible studies but we are not one and that’s so true and deep. So I would like to get advice on what you advise me to do as a person that is in a relationship but my partner doesn’t seem to interested unless I start to talk about it? Do I start this journey on my own ?

Hi Angela, we are so glad you found us too! Thank you for sharing your story with us. I would say while what we said is true and you definitely don’t want to feel pressure to establish the man as the head until there’s covenant, it’s also equally if not more important to choose to be with someone who also has strong convictions and is close to the Lord even if you weren’t in the picture! Prior to me meeting BJ, I was with someone who wasn’t equally yoked and the Lord told me it was time to let it go. I had no idea how I would ever find the courage to leave but when I did, He was faithful to bring me someone who I now know 1000000% will lead me and our future family in the ways of the Lord. Of course, that was just my experience and I would never tell you it’s cookie cutter and one way but bring your situation to Jesus. Talk to him and seek his direction! He has very special plans for you Angela, that I know for sure! I’d highly suggest reading the book of Ruth, it’s a beautiful story that encourages us as women in the kingdom of God! There’s also a book called The Ruth Anointing by Michelle McClain Walters that’s so empowering, I also highly recommend to read that right after reading it in the Bible! Love you and we’ll be praying for you🤍 -Emily

what advice do you have for someone who is already married and just now rekindling and starting my walk with Jesus. i want a Christ centered relationship so badly, it seems you were both with the Lord separately before He brought you together. my husband believes but doesn’t necessarily practice. should i start the journey on my own and build my relationship with God first and then try to help lead my husband to Him? or should i try to start the journey together with him? he knows i have been reading The Bible and talking to the lord more. i have the hopes that it will motivate or inspire him to do the same, but he has never really seemed fully interested in walking with me, although i haven’t out right asked him to. do you have any advice ?

Hi! Thank you so much for opening up and sharing your story with us. I’m so glad you are rekindling a relationship with Jesus, it’s such a beautiful life! While I don’t know too much about marriage since I’m still only dating, I do know that it’s the Lord alone who touches the hearts of his people to follow him. I would say, don’t underestimate the power of prayer. The word of God says the prayers of a righteous person are powerful and effective (James 5:16). I’ve seen the Lord transform hearts time and time again. He does not neglect your prayers. However long it takes, I would suggest just being faithful in your walk and praying for your husband! The Lord is faithful and just. Praying for you in your journey! I just know Jesus is so proud of you! -Emily 🤍
