How does kalki not get a segment? Plenty of stuff on here was the usual stuff been seen in telugu cinema before. What kalki does is a major push in a direction never explored. Works very well as an origin story for a world. Should have atleast made the special mentions list just for the idea, execution, innovation and how well it sets up the universe.
I said this somewhere else, in context of AVATAR, will try to say it here again: Just because a film is pioneering ground breaking filmmaking technique, or has great visuals or impeccable CGI, a filmgoer is not compelled to praise it. We should not fall for consolation prizes. A film shall be appreciated for the merits in story/emotions. All of these films you have seen us praise did leave an impact on us. That's what we spoke. Anyone is free to disagree. "Should have atleast made the special mentions list just for the idea..." Consolation prizes. We may or may not choose to give one. You think of it that way, so be it.
Kill is that movie where you do not need a backstory for the lead. A note that he is a Commando is sufficient to believe everything happening on screen.
