  • My journals have always been my safe space. My place to play freely and explore art. Take a peek inside my latest sketchbook.
In this sketchbook I have allowed my creativity to explode in the form of little experiments with color, line, shape, composition. My pages are heavy with layers of paint, collage, and mark making. I have found that daily sketchbook practice can be a valuable tool when you are trying to figure out your style of art making.
Please leave a comment! I would love for your to tell me what your current artistic struggles are or what are you seeking to find throughout your creative journey.
    enjoy!
    xoxo-
    gina

Your sketchbook makes sense to me & speaks to me! And inspired me How To JUST Get Started when the need to express is overwhelming, but the emotional energy to do it is not there. Yes! I also would love to see your process of making this, as well as seeing you sit down w/ a blank surface & going from there in true Gina Johnson style. ☺☺

I have enjoyed your videos for several years. I appreciate how you share your journey with us. It is wonderful that you verbally explain your thought process as you create. Keep up the great work. My struggle is admiring someone's work; being inspired, but then as I try to do my creating, the results are not pleasing to me.

I love it! I saw the post on Instagram a while ago and it looked great! Thanks for sharing 🙏 💕 You inspired me a lot today because I'm not an artsy person when it comes to paints, crayons, and pastels, etc (although I like them). But I do fear blank spaces in my journals and it's difficult to think of building background for what I want to record. That's why I began to use mini junk journals. But I definitely got inspiration today. You art is Wonderful and it helps us to do a little bit of it in our own way.❤

Yay! I am so grateful for your feedback. I have big plans for the next few months. My goal is to help others conquer that fear!

That first page looks like a crooked little house to me with a loft (attic) room, a staircase and rugs and a picture on the wall.

Hi Kim, I used construction paper. I'll give details in a future video. I think the brand was Tru-ray. Hope this helps.

Stop chasing that shiny object and just do art. Enjoy the process and have fun.
