Being brand new to PyCharm, totally new to jango and git, and newish to python, I would have preferred the focus being on just starting a fresh project, changing any options or the environment, closing the project, reopening the project, and adding a line of code. The number of options, gadgets, and new terms on the screen can be overwhelming (at least to a newcomer such as myself).
Me too. It is the stuff at the very beginning. Maybe I will call it pre starting a project. I used to write small programs as a young one, but haven't for decades now. It is so different and I cannot even open a project. Makes no sense to me anymore. We used to just open a file and go. Now we have all these options and I have no clue what I need for what I want to do.......
"totally new to jango"
It's spelled d-j-a-n-g-o. The 'd' is silent. Sorry, had to make that movie reference. 😁
I love PyCharm! I would like to make a suggestion for Pycharm Professional. When selecting New Project -> Django allow creating a settings folder. As we do today "django-admin start project core . "
Hugs
Obrigado Paul
Man this is spooky! I just started a tutorial (on Django) and I created a new environment (which is why I searched for this video) and at 02:30 in your vid you also had the django_tutorial project name/file 🙀
Have subscribed. Was a bit tricky, but done.

good video
The problem is I dont want to use a virtual env because in the virtual env, dlib and face_recognition have failed to install there. However, using cmd, I have been able to install the 2 globally. So if Pycharm would allow mw to create my project in the root, I would automatically be able to access those 2. But its not allowing me to create my projects without a global env. Could someone help me out please?
So what I learned is that the missing frameworks feature in pycharm community could be bypassed with a collection of github projects exported with a template of each framework's setup and a configuration script to simplify changing the settings exposed in pycharm pro's GUI
"..and keep me off the streets"
That's funny
pycharm is so much cooler better than visiul studio code
Nice tutorial, but I think mixing in Django with learning PyCharm makes things too complicated for newbies. Also, in this video you say, "next video is PyCharms UI", but there's no number on this video. UA-cam displays a link to "Understanding the UI in Python". I guess that's what you were referring to, but there should be a table of contents. Oh, the first line in the description section of this UA-cam video isn't really the subject line for the description section, but instead it's a link to the table of contents. It should say "Getting Started with PyCharm - table of contents". Obvious, once you know it's obvious.
Hello, I do not dislike your content, but I do not want it popping up on my feed all the time. For the most part I use UA-cam for entertainment and this feels very work related. My college puts your video in the course, so it is almost like it is required for us to watch it. I am only saying this because I wanted to explain why you have so many views and not as many subscribers. You said "80%," and that is a lot. It is because colleges use your content for students to learn.
It was great, until you deviated from what the free version is... should have stuck with a pure python version instead of going django
I got Pycharm professional and didn't pay cent. Didn't know the extras besides PurePy was a thing
Yea. I have been struggling with this site for days now. (not your site, pycharm) My son is an expert but lives too far away to help me. He sent me this video and it gives me the same problem I ALWAYS get. Your instructions on how to open a NEW file (getting started) does NOT match what comes up on my screen. So me being me (needing an exact copy to learn) remain completely lost. Edited from here. Reading other comments, I think others are in the same boat as me. This is not beginning (they are saying), it assumes one knows some things that are not obvious to beginners. IMO
Absolutely NOT a "Beginner's Tutorial".
This is a beginners tutorial. Not a python beginners tutorial but a pycharm users beginners tutorial. The amount of people in the comments confusing this is crazy.
Please explain in kannada
eh?
please be short in explaining.
I am new to python and 2 minutes into this video I decided to uninstall pycharm. I dont need it
Nice, but could you please stop keep showing up your face next time? Because it's a bit annoying... Thank you!
You're a millennial arent you? Getting offended by someone showing their face, on their channel.
hey don't blame the old dude,i like his background with the jersey and all the signatures
Not impressed - seemed more like an ad to promote upgrading - he immediately dismissed those with the free Community Edition. One cannot just buy a hamburger any more without having to wade thru endless up-selling attempts.
beginners aren't using pro edition or django. it's like no technology people have any common sense.
Nice guy, but he doesn't explain very well...
Suddenly lost interest in learning python after this
