Thank you for reacting to Taylor Swift I think you should give her a chance one day. You would probably enjoy her Reputation album the most if you like more darker sound or Red if you like storytelling based songs. But no matter what sound Taylor has her lyrics never disappoint. She’s literally one of the best lyricist out there.

She does have a point about double standards(that's why the whole Leo lyric). She was slut shamed for dating multiple guys but guys like leo aren't.Criticized for making breakup songs but she wasn't the first to do it,Timberlake anyone? She did go through a groping trial ,which she won and that is not a good experience. Her songwriting was questioned a lot, even after multiple songwriting awards. She would have been treated differently on these aspects sure but getting famous faster if she were a man,i don't think so,more like if she started with pop instead of country. In the interviews for her album she highlighted the criticism she received with dating and stuff. She did use all that hate and made hits, which was smart. If rappers can rap about women being sluts and stuff and not be a problem, neither should this one be.It is impressive she directed the video, sang the song and wrote it,she has a lot of talent no doubt, and that's coming from someone that only likes one song from her,"lover".

Those are all good points, but when you're net worth is ALMOST HALF A BILLION DOLLARS & you read about all the advantages she had growing up(Montessori School, Guitar & Vocal lessons, etc.), you can't really complain about being held back, regardless of your gender.

    • @dice581

@@UNCAUfan87 She didn't complain about being held back in promo interviews about the album, just about the double standards she faced which are valid points, even if you are rich, when you are young it does affect you.You can have all those advantages and still not make it as an artist(paris hilton and many other rich folks that tried it in music). She stands out as writing her own songs(which is pretty rare in pop and something you can't teach) and being at the top for more then a decade. You do realize that people that have a platform in which they can complain about stuff are all pretty much rich right? It's just a song at the end of the day, people take it way too seriously. If you can show me where she says that all men are bad and pigs,i will eat my words.Don't get me wrong, there are so called "feminists"that say the dumbest shit, but now as an opposite effect there are these so called "real men" that say really dumb crap as well. You don't fight stupid with stupid, but the points she is making are pretty much valid. It's just a music video that portrays different rare stereotypes. If drake can get away singing about struggles he never experienced,so can she.

I wish more alternative music enthusiasts would breach the surface level of Taylor's music (e.g. the commercial singles) and actually bothered to listen to the other tracks on her albums considering the fact that half of her chord progressions and hooks are inspired by alternative rock, punk and metal influences.
There is literally so much more to her than the cookie cutter bubblegum pop sound she strategically pins to her singles simply because she has to cater to the mainstream majority in order to stay relevant.

@@DiarraHarris we (as her fans) don't really know. Each time we're annoyed to find out the deep cuts are so much better than the lead single. I personally think she releases her weakest ones first is to drum up attention to the album and get people to talk about it (even if they talk shit about it) cause then it makes ppl to be interested in looking into the whole album. Taylor know how to market. She's really good at it, and I say it as a good thing. She's the only artist to sell four different album, each selling 1 million copies in their first week

@@talgivol4429 I think it's pretty smart. When you release the best songs from an album, the rest of the work ends up being completely written off as drivel or not as impressive as the single. Taylor uses the singles as a way to push the album as a full body of work rather than get cheap hits like Sia or Justin Bieber.

someone said it below, she is considered by most critics to be the best lyricist today. Sometimes her pop songs are overshadowed by production and radio playability, but TS fans don't usually listen to those songs that are on the radio. The Man is a good video and message, but not really a song I'd listen to. Its the deep cuts that cut to the core for TS fans. Trying to think of anything you may like as a metalhead. Probably not. But i'm glad you listened to it. Reputation is the edgiest, but not sure you'd like that either. and that's ok. One of her best love songs is Lover, nominated for Song of the Year and the video is very very good. If you want a stripped down, no production version, try Lover on SNL. Either way, you may enjoy a sweet love song. But, maybe not. The music video is visually pleasing, but I always prefer the stripped down acoustic style anytime (SNL version is the best version out there). Give it a shot and see if love song Taylor strikes a cord. if not, we'll try another kind of Taylor (break up taylor, angry taylor, in love taylor, rapping taylor, yeehaw country taylor, revenge taylor, bad ass taylor, finding my voice taylor, making a statement taylor, sad as hell Taylor.... ).

I liked your reaction though and maybe I'll stop by again for your reaction to something else. But, people who have time on their hands to hate and to comment in such a disgusting way about a woman they only know from tabloids when they were 20 yrs old, clearly has a problem and maybe shouldn't be watching videos of them in the first place. Who has time for such hatred of someone that has done nothing to affect their lives in any way. I see you have plenty of subscribers, I won't be missed in this group that obviously is filled with hatred and judgement toward this woman.
