MOUTH-WATERING Tour of #1 French Food City - LYON 🇫🇷 Escargot, Bouchon & Brasserie!
Вставка
- Опубліковано 31 тра 2024
- Lyon is often considered to serve France's heaviest meals either at one of the cities many bouchons or maybe the world famous Les Halles Paul Bocuse. This city is a bucket list destination for any food fanatic. I have been waiting to visit for a very long time and it did not disappoint! The food in Lyon is extremely fatty and filling so when I say "come with an empty stomach" I mean it. We started out at the Disney Land of food in Lyon : Les Halles Paul Bocuse. Named after local legend Chef Paul Bocuse, here you can literally try it all when it comes to Lyonnaise food. After we settle down for a heavy French lunch at Lyon's oldest Bouchon. After burning off some calories around the beautiful old quarter of Lyon we tucked into Brasserie Georges for a white tablecloth dinner of Alsatian food.
CHAPTERS :
0:00-1:04 Intro
1:04-7:50 Les Halles Paul Bocuse
7:50-9:27 Airbnb
9:27-15:02 Café Comptoir Abel
15:02-17:51 Sightseeing
17:51-26:02 Brasserie Georges
26:02-26:25 Outro

That piece of soft cheese is so attractive. France is well-deserved as a country of gourmet food!
French desserts and breads are definitely among the best in the world!
The barracuda from that cafe looks awesome and I love the creamy mushroom sauce!
Lyon is really a beautiful city, thank you Luke for introducing this Michelin hometown! 👍🥰🙏
Thanks Gianni! It’s a special city for sure with so much to try. Currently planning our next trip to Taiwan :)
@@LukeMartin It is my honor, thanks to you too!

Baked Alaska is a classic dessert that I even made as a kid in the U.S. It's an elevated version here with the orange liquor but basically it's ice cream at its center with an outer layering of meringue and baked in the oven. When done correctly the ice cream doesn't melt (it is sealed by the meringue) but you must also get a nice browning of edges on your meringue to be proper. If you don't know the technique to do this and put it in the oven you'll end up with milk soup on a pan
Beautiful country. France is definitely on my bucket list for visiting. Thank you for sharing, Luke and Mink. ❤
Thank you so much for the level of detail. We are really appreciated
Super
❤love Luke and Mink
Hi Luke. I'm glad that you went to Cafe Maison Abel. I was just there in September and had the exact dishes you had. It was definitely the best Quenelle in Lyon. Enjoying your videos!
So good!
Very Well done, Luke...Thank You!!!

Lovin this French series. Me taking 🇫🇷 in HS, I feel a connection to that country. 🇫🇷 and 🇮🇹 do a friendly rivalry when it comes to food lol!!
It's amazingly funny to watch you popping up at somewhere so close to my home 🤣
You live in a beautiful city
Hey Luke, omg all those pastries looked amazing 😍 I’d b3 in so much trouble if I was in France, and I’d come back 15kgs heavier 🙈

That sour kraut and mustard look to die for 🤤

Discovered Lyon just a couple of months ago. What a wonderful city.
Beautiful place!
Where did you find it?
Happy Blessed Birthday Mink❤❤❤
Me, a german: wanting to explore french cuisine in lyon
Him: showing off the sausage with sauerkraut and beer
Lyon is like all famous cities, a tourists trap !
@@TJSLA4 just was there last weekend, they have some really nice cafés and bouchons. Also chartreuse is one of my favorite drinks now.
I like the fact you film individual bites, lol.
That's choucroute, mate!
Happy birthday Ming 🎂 Pity the BD cake was not to your liking.
Love Mink!!!
Bro you've done us dirty with the lack of air bnb link 😂
I know right?! 😂
I haven't seen a baked Alaska since the 70's! But then again...Southern Ontario in the 70's wasn't very much of a gastronomical pleasure.
Everything so good super food sir where you from sir because your video also so amazing super
The original French name is Omelete Norvegienne, Baked Alaska is a similar thing (ice cream quickly baked in meringue).
I believe it's called baked Alaska because it's baked meringue with ice cream (Alaska = cold) on the inside. The first time I had baked Alaska was in New Orleans, Louisiana. I don't think the dessert is too uncommon in the US, at least not to me.
We just subscribed. Nice video! Do you have a link for the air b n b by St. John Baptiste Cathedral? I couldn't find Merci
Hey Luke! Where can I find a link to the Airbnb?
La choucroute vient d'Alsace et non pas d'Allemagne.
Let's clarify it, Luke. Yes, you said it but you have to accept that Mink always repeats it even better. 😂 Greetings from France. 🤓🇨🇵
Nyam nyam 🤤🤤🤤
You need some cornichons with that saucisson...I am so jealous!
Luke when was the last time you brushed your teeth? hahaha!!
More Mink, she's great!
22:25 tries the frankfurter...
Luke: mmm i feel like ive been transported to....
me: Frankfurt?
Luke: Munich!
Hahah oops 😬
man you'll have all the frenchmen screaming with the way you cut that cheese at 2:23 ;) (you're supposed to cut it in wedges like pie)
Hahaha you’re not the first one to comment! wow I was not aware of the specifics of French cheese cutting.
My mother in law is French so I had to learn pretty quickly ;) it's a whole thing.. apparently the center of the cheese is the best part and you're supposed to share that equally I think (sorry to all French people if that is incorrect)
@@aL3891_It's true !
@@aL3891_ yes that's completly correct
La choucroute est un plat typiquement français, d'Alsace....une spécialité alsacienne pas allemande !
Merci beaucoup pour cette magnifique vidéo à Lyon ❤
Minute 21:40 the name of the dish is CHUCRUTE, it's originally from Strasbourg - France, and I happen to live in the CAPITAL of CHUCRUTE, (but I'm Portuguese) which is the cabbage that completes the dish, the village is called Krautergersheim, you can search on Google... Hugs and continue with the videos....
Yes we wish we could have visited Strasbourg this time
@@LukeMartinyou got to try Chucrute in Strasbourg Luke and also visit vineyard.
I like Mink
The cheese 🤪
made in sibiria i think that alaska has ice and a vulcano
Mushroom creamy bread 🤪
Does anyone know the name of the cheese? I missed it.
Saint Marcelin.
👍
I guess canadians and Americans do not eat as much cheese as Europeans.
hi luke i see where in lion why you do not come to the netherlands
Oh yes he did awhile back…..
The Saint Marcellin is not 24% cheese :D It's 100 % cheese and contains 24% fat. It's made from whole cow's milk.
Creamy bread 🤪
Bonjour Martin, je pensais que tu savais le français et tu as changé de copine. Sinon toujours agréable de te regarder.
😂😂
Nice video - Sabrina was great though - prefer her in your videos - i will still view your content, thanks.
Luke, you could always let Ming give her opinion first Then she wouldn't have yours already stuck in her head 🤷
She's doing amazing considering she's pretty much mastered the hardest language on earth, then trying to put that language to the test on the spot.
You spell la tarte aux pralines wrongly
Stop saying HEAVY food . RiCH maybe but not heavy. How about trying cassoulet, boeuf bourguignon, tartiflette, cuisses de grenouille, bouillabaisse, blanquette de veau, coq au vin, gratin dauphinois, tatin, hachis parmentier,etc... More representative of classic french cuisine.
You don't pronounce the N in Lyon please.
Pike is a priced fish. So not much pike in there probably.
How you butchered your cheese at the start of the video! I am crying to see that.
I would recommend not to spread your cheese like you did. Cut a small piece of cheese, put it in your mouth and then put a small piece of bread in your mouth and eat together. Or if you want to spread your cheese, which you can, cut a *small* piece of bread and put a bit of cheese on it. It must be bite-size. Anyway, glad to see you enjoying food in my country. The oysters and seafood in Brittany looked amazing!
I have the same thought as you, well it's very cultural in France. We know how to cut all type of cheese because we learned it.
Eat anyway you want smh I hate when people think they're just the smartest person on earth hahahah I'll throw that cheese on noodles or a pizza it dont matter how anyone eats it we're not all the same some like ketchup and some of us dont like ketchup what you gonna say next ohh dont forget to spread it around your teeth and drink the tomatoes out the ketchup with lettuce hahaha
@@Eogardyeah ? Soo cutting the cheese makes you cool ? Wow people know how to cut cheese and they bragging about it like people care hahaha losers
I'm really not a cheese guy and this was my first time trying St marcelin. It was great but I wasnt sure how to approach it haha
Seriously?? How you serious? Let people eat their own way, you stupid
You have a gorgeous gf, wow…
i like to see you
Id love to visit for the food. Hopefully the people gotten better about being more accepting then snobs
did he changed his girldfriend?
No, she's just had a lot of work done....
At 12.22 he says "my Thai girlfriend"
@@FeedMyPostBox😂😂😂
Sure did. Ditched the old one
Who knows?
Sabrina used to go to every country… poor or developed
This Mink only goes to countries like France Japan Canada etc… not interested Indonesia or other poor countries Luke recently went
She is smart 🤪
yeah 23% cheese...lol
I was not empress with French food nothing special about it .
Just a queen.
baked Alaska was first created in NYC at the Delmonico steakhouse
The original dessert is attributed to a physicist by the name of Benjamin Rumford, (whom later became Count Rumford,) in 1804.
That was kinda racist about the rice thing 😂😂
Kn)Jen)njm’”,lol?"llll.😢. 😢
You don't even know how to eat cheese,,,,
Yes ok Iknow now that I suck at eating cheese
ASIAN GIRL = THAT YOUR WIFE?
ugh again this guy with his obsession with the word super LOL every two seconds its " super " " super " " super " jeeez ..such a bad habit .. so predictable when he eats something I know 100 % its followed by him saying super
Are you and your ex ever gonna get back together?
He flies all the way there to eat cake and sour kraut. He needs a better budget.
