One major point I'd like to add is that if you spare Asgore after having killed flowey in a previous run, instead of him getting killed by flowey, Asgore will actually snap out of his “fantasy”, as he calls it, and choose to literally kill himself and give Frisk his soul so they can leave the underground. This would be considered an act of martyrdom, which is when a person sacrifices something of great value, or more often their own life, for the sake of principle or a “greater good”.
Hi there- So, I tried to make this good, but I honestly think it's mid. I'll do better for deltarune's anniversary, trust me. Also one more thing, if THIS gets more views than the "Roblox References To Undertale" Video Or Whatever, Then.... EDIT 2: spelling mistake at 3:16, sorry bout that
I think a specific interesting thing about his character is that he and Toriel are both morally grey and you can totally argue over which of them is in the right. They both see themselves as having taken the morally correct response to the death of their children, but which of them is actually right is debatable. The game itself portrays Toriel much more favorably than Asgore, but then in the Alarm Clock dialogue she is shown to be coping unhealthily similar to Asgore, and in Deltarune, she seems to be neglectful of Kris
