  • I tried to keep as still as possible. I recorded this with my galaxy s6 so it was a little shaky. Everything is totally stock, it was about 90 degrees out while making this video. I am 5'9 and weigh 145 pounds. If you have any questions feel free to ask and thanks for watching!

    Hey everyone! Update as of April 2020, the ruckus still runs to this day with like 15,000 miles on it. It has a new owner and he has the same passion for it as I did. My 2017 grom now has 20,000 miles on it, and my 2019 mt07 already has 10,000 on it.

    50 cc still and adding mods will make it go even faster as they have a higher speed

    Hey, that's a decent acceleration for such a small scoot.. It would help if you'd post your weight and height, as they can play a pretty big role. I like this scoot a lot.

    I don't have a Ruckus yet, I'm still deciding if it would be better for me to get Grom, I tested drove my car from work to home taking only the streets doing just under 40mph, stopping at almost every stop lights,, it actually took me about 12mins. I really like the Ruckus due to its easy customization, but might be a bit slow,, As for the Honda Grom, it's small and fast but maybe not as user friendly as a Ruckus. so I'm still confused right now, what you thing?

      I personally would go for the grom. Its about the same had milage and its a load of fun. You will love that bike.

      I am a daily ruckus rider, I would say it really depends on the roads you take to work/school. When I drive my big truck I hope on HWY 95 and get to work in 10 Min. When I take the Ruckus HWY 95 is not an option. I do the neighborhood routes except a few big roads going a short distance. I like that I can load and unload my Ruckus from my truck when I travel so I can save on gas when I am traveling. Good luck and go Ruck!

    Turn s out if you go from 180 down to 150 it runs faster got to go running more LOL but I like the Yamha 50 cc they go around 43 all day add a bit of some mods and you easily do 50 or better

    • @Jay-sv5np
      @Jay-sv5np 3 роки тому

      Myself am around 200 and I like to get down to 150. I had a 50 pound bag of salt on the same moped so losing 50 pounds seems like you really get higher speeds.

      Haha yeah lol its stock. However if you tuck it will go 42 on flats. Sitting up straight anywere from 35 ish to 38 ish. It depends on a lot of things.

    Can you ride these on the street without a drivers license?
    Do you have to stay over on the right as a bicycle would?

    • @TheFluffyWendigo
      @TheFluffyWendigo 4 роки тому +3

      Most areas you do need a license and you can ride them on the road if the speed limit is under 45. Mine tops out at 40 and I’ll still go on the highway I just ignore the honking as it’s barely 1 mile of distance to the town I live in

  • @sergsrt8

    does it get 100mpg while at full throttle/full speed?

    • @fireonthegrom2728
      @fireonthegrom2728  7 років тому +1

      I found it to get roughly 90 mpg wide open all the time. It seems to get best mpg around 35 mph depending on conditions.

    Here in California you have to have a M2 license to operate a motorcycle 50cc or less, M1 license to ride a 120cc or more how about Indiana?

    • @fireonthegrom2728
      @fireonthegrom2728  8 років тому

      Hey sorry for the late reply. For Indiana, anything 49cc and under all you need is some sort of a valid state ID and you must be at least 15 years of age. Anything above 49cc you must have a liscence and insurance

    I am 5'8 1/2", weighing 220, my 2017 Stock Ruck will run 37 on a flat, before the governor kicks in, never saw a stock one run any faster. Believe you dis something to it to reset the governor.

    Im interested in buying one because so far its the only 50cc 4 stroke ive found that has a backup kickstart, is faster than 28mph and is a quality brand, looks and style mean nothing to me with bikes and cars they are just transport.

    • @fireonthegrom2728
      @fireonthegrom2728  8 років тому +1

      Yeah man nothing wrong with that. I daily ride my ruckus 30 miles a day to school and back. 6100 miles and counting and absolutely 0 problems with it other than oil changes and thats it. Its a great little bike!

    • @GibsonLesPaul2273
      @GibsonLesPaul2273 8 років тому

      +Zane Pritchett Good stuff. Im looking at the zoomer which is identical I think. Only downside I can see is fuel capacity, its less than half of my Italjet Formula 50.

    • @fireonthegrom2728
      @fireonthegrom2728  8 років тому

      +GibsonLesPaul2273 The zooma is the name they give the ruckus in other countries I think. The fuel capacity for the ruckus is 1.3 gallons. I havn't ever had a problem on long trips finding a gas station personaly.

    • @fireonthegrom2728
      @fireonthegrom2728  8 років тому

      +GibsonLesPaul2273 I like your name by the way. I personaly own a Joe Satriana Ibanez and a Fender telecaster myself and for acoustic I play a big baby taylor.

    • @GibsonLesPaul2273
      @GibsonLesPaul2273 8 років тому

      +Zane Pritchett I wonder if thats because its 4 stroke, maybe 1.3 gallons lasts as long as 2 gallons on a 2 stroke, I dont know. Very tempted to get one, they hold their value so well.

    I just bought a 2018 Honda ruckus and I was wondering.. If it Did any damage to the motor because I Did 40mph 2X and haven't done it sense.. So did I hurt it in any way as of now.?? Just wondering 😓

    • @HypnoticPattern
      @HypnoticPattern 6 років тому

      no. it has a rev limiter. you can sit at 40mph all day and not do any damage to it.

      +Doctor Cat ...Thanks for getting back to Me! 😊 and I've got another question... Since it's New.. Why does it always sound like it's going to die.? or boggles down . I don't know the correct terminology for it.. In fact . I know nothing what-so-ever about scooters/mopeds 😟 hopefully that will change soon 😀

    • @HypnoticPattern
      @HypnoticPattern 6 років тому

      heyo. what do you mean it sounds like it's going to die or bogs? like what are you doing when it makes that sound? if you mean sitting at a stoplight, it's a single cylinder, aka a "thumper" so it's going to be vibrating and "thumping" at a slow speed such that you can feel it. There's no second cylinder moving the opposite direction to offset the other one moving up. If you mean when you first get on the gas it seems like it bogs, that's the CVT aka the transmission. It uses weights and centrifugal force to change the gearing. I recommend looking at HOWSTUFFWORKS and seeing how a CVT works. I'm gonna do a video explaining it on my channel soon!

    • @jasonmarshall7401
      @jasonmarshall7401 5 років тому

      When it is first new you are to break it in first 100 miles before doing full throttle bigger bikes dont really need this also aways let it warm up 5 min should do just like a car never start and take off right away bad on the engine and no mine dose not do that

      In Indiana, I have never gotten pulled over. I have passed cops zipping through town and playing around on it and they have never done more than kindly wave at me. Check your local laws and you shouldnt have any problems. I also always wear a dot approved helmet and that helps.

    • @fireonthegrom2728

      I got stopped once in the small community just north of where I lived. Cop only wanted to see my DL licence. When asked why I was stopped, he said, 90% of old guys riding theses scooters have had their DL taken, so they think they can ride this without any licence at all! No problem for me because not only do I have my licence but also have motorcycle added code!
