How to create multiple destinations route planner in Google Maps

In this video tutorial, I will show you how to create a custom multiple destinations Google Map with Route Planner.

Google Maps does not optimize the route for multiple destinations. You have to optimize it manually. For a delivery driver, this is inconvenient.

I cannot get this to reliably work for me. Most of the time Google Maps will NOT show me an option to add destinations when I'm using their site. I really hate this. WTH???

Thanks man. I am trying to set a circular route from Leeds to John o groats Via Newcastle and back south to Leeds via Harrogate. However, I am doing this on a motorbike and there are lots of stops or waypoints and google limits me to adding a total of 10 destinations and limits the amount of times I can drag googles option to my option- Very frustrating! Any help.....

I think you need to import data for more points on map support.google.com/mymaps/answer/3024836?hl=en&co=GENIE.Platform%3DDesktop#zippy=%2Cstep-import-info-into-the-map

I created a custom route on "MY MAPS", is it not possible to make that navigatable? Wish Google would fix that as working in MY MAPS seems to be easier/ more flexible.

No can't be used for gps

@@dcpwebdesigners So it seems I would need to use Google maps to actually start a navigation and manually add multiples of stop to get my own custom route for turn by turn in order to prevent auto routing done by the app. Unlike the desktop version in the app I can not simply click and drag blue line to my liking.
So everything need to be preplanned on desktop, send to phone via email so i can open it later. Repeat this for multiples of routes.
Wish Google would make this easier.
Also, I have not tested it yet but atleast MY MAPS routes can be overlayed on top of the map as visual line only.

Will they map automatically give you the best options calculating the distance between each one so it’s more time/gas saving? Or you will have the map set up in the order that you the destinations?

This does not do any sort of calculations. It's just a basic map which you can share

You also need to make sure you don't set an arrival or depart time. If you set one of those times, then you are not given the option of setting multiple destinations.

Unfortunately, this does not work when using Android Auto. I set a route with 6 stops, sent it to my phone, then opened it in my car. Google Maps plotted the quickest route from start to finish and ignored all the way points.
