It's reminding me of TFC's videos where we really felt like we were along for the ride and not just watching a production. But I'm also recognizing the production work is beautiful!
Why I enjoy Beef’s videos so much. 1. I’m in my 40s and Beef’s sense of humor is very similar to mine. (Seinfeld stuff for example) 2. Elite level editing and video production. 3. Beautiful, not super-complicated builds. Keep it up Beef and congratulations on becoming a father.
Also a suggestion for the pond is mud on the floor, it darkens the water and makes it feel deeper! Another suggestion [woah im on a roll] is to add (azelea) leaves to give the illusions of leaves and greenery in the water!
I was going to suggest some clay too; it's similar in hue to the gravel and tuff, but has as smoother texture to break up the busy textures of the other two blocks.
Alongside these great suggestions, I would say add a small break in the river to flow into the pond. It doesn't have to be big, but it could provide some realism as to why it's there since water always flows downwards
Just sayin... an Etho & Beef play through of TerraFirmaCraft would be epic. The vibes would be immaculate, and Etho recently said he's been wanting to check it out again! Love the current style Beef, keep it up! :)
"Whoever explored the stronghold did not find this room" - meanwhile Beef just looking straight at the chest on the top floor claiming there is none :D
Hey Beef! An idea for your pond, build a small pier and ask Cleo ,with her awesome armor stand skills, to add you and a mini Beef (son)sitting on the edge fishing.
A new project in this long running season feels a bit like a fresh start, so cool seeing beef trying out new stuff and not getting stuck in creativity from the farm project. not that, that chapter is necessarily done, but as an avid viewer there is always a fear of some of the hermits not having fun with what they are doing. :-)
Hey Beef! The podzol around the campfire looks good, but gravel and stone pressure plates might make more sense to act like the stones normally around firepits. Also love all the new trees!
23:25 I think the blocks at the bottom look good and I agree with changing the outer rim of the pond. Adding lily pads and greenery will breakup the texture and make it look more natural.
You can add grass and such to the pond and maby let the water fron the river in and make a lill bridge over it! It's realy rwaly good to see you back man and congrats on the new addition to the family! Keep up the awsome work!!
The pond is in a beautiful spot! I'd love to see a huge tree, with a branch coming over your pond, with a swing hanging over the bank. It's just a lovely thought. Hope you, Momma Beef & Baby Beef are doing well! 💜
I think the bottom of the pond looks really good! It probably just needs some plant life to busy it up. Pearl's plant shop is over by where Permit Master happened, and Impulse's grass shop is over there too, and lily pads and stuff
20:18 I misheard this part of the video and thought Beef referred to that group of green explosive mobs as a "parody" of creepers... Which I kind of love, honestly! Captainsparklez' parody song being so influential in the Minecraft world that it changes the collective word used by players is a fun thought :D
Whoohooo Beef upload! One of my immediate thoughts was the labyrinth of Daedalus from the greek myths! The long spindly corridors reminded me of it, and for his work space could be a nice main space to store things/supplies can’t wait what you make of it
Hey Beef. Love the way you play the game. I have re-purposed a Stronghold. It is a mighty task. I chose to start with the end portal room and worked outwards from there. All of the unnamed rooms got turned into a room with a purpose. The named rooms got re-designed
New Beef episode. Always good for some”Simple Life” vibes. So chill and cozy. Also never had a farm seen a more diverse neighborhood with all cool neighbors!
Great to have you back beepers. I would like to see the stronghold as being a dwarf stronghold. Have everything low down, use mini blocks and have doors being smaller with a half block, so you need to crouch to walk through it. 😂
It would be interesting if Beef turned that cave off the library into a secret room or made it look like a secret passageway to an ancient part of the stronghold.
The Mars base was the first hermitcraft series of yours I watched. Granted I had watched your mindcrack vanilla and modded series but the Martian base was my first hermitcraft series I watched. Ren's base definitely brings that nostalgia
Same! I'm pretty sure that was the first time Beef was on Hermitcraft, that was also my introduction to Hermitcraft after years of following Mindcrack.
@didi81_ well at the time I was literally watching mumbos Redstone videos and lots of Etho, doc and bdubs in other series. But beef was the one that dragged me into hermitcraft
I love the idea of making the stronghold modern, like a bunch of scientists built a labyrinth around the portal to study the effects, and do experiments with the silver fish
So excited to see how your stronghold build turns out! It's something I never considered but now I'm going to be thinking about it a ton lol. Love the pond as well, your base just gets cozier by the day.
Nice. I like the new project idea. Know that every Stronghold library has two chests. Also, since one of those libraries has been raided why not make that your home base? It's big enough for storage and crafting while you get started for sure.
Another beautiful episode, Beef! For the pond I would try some dark mud blocks on the bottom instead of dirt, and maybe dried mud blocks around it instead of path blocks.
The pond looks a little off right now because it is so barren. I think some bushes, trees, and aquatic plants will work wonders! Its great to have you back posting regularly and I'm excited to see what you'll do with the stronghold!
Renovating the stronghold reminds me of when architects find plans/ blueprints of old structures that were ruined and reimagine how they would’ve looked!
Pond looks great! Just needs things like sea grass, sea pickles and other things (like False's bullrushes) and the bottom will blend and look like a real pond
Another sweet episode from you :) I'm really excited to see what you do with the stronghold! It's been commented somewhere else but I haven't seen it here: The resource pack for the mob animations hasn't been updated to 1.21.4 (?) yet but the server has, so it's hovering heads for now
You need to make the cave in the library have a secret entrance openable by taking out a book and make like a Batcave on the other side. Maybe a Salmoncave? For the great hero of the server, the Salmonman.
I think it would look good to make the Stronghold hallways taller to make it feel more open. Also since you want to "restore it to its former glory" it would be cool to have villagers wandering around eventually.
Love the idea. That geode could be turned into a cool enchanting room/ mages lab area. Have the enchanting area and an area for alchemy/ brewing. Could be an area found in a stronghold. And already has started the mystical vibe in the world generation
I don't know about lily pads specifically, but False has a river service and puts things like lily pads and cattails, various plants, and she even added a dragonfly for Keralis.
Excited to see what you do with the stronghold Beef. I have one on my server that I’d like to remodel so I’ll be watching yo get some inspiration. Your videos have that old Let’s Play vibe that I love. ❤
As a stronghold it should probably have been used to contain & protect and those two words immediately invoke SCP stories. So maybe in the ancient Minecraft world those were facilities intended to contain dangerous artifacts and bizarre monsters and to store arcane secrets of dark magic. I think you might be well-placed to invent some lore that could eventually become canon. It could become a fun community project too.
The gravel and tuff look great at the bottom of the pond. I'd recommend switching out the dirt for either smoothstone or mossy cobble. I also feel like raising the water level by one block would work
I guess you could turn the second library you found into a lab of some sorts, with that cave it has. Like the library holds the research and the cave holds what's being researched.
I’ve been really enjoying the Vintage Beef style lately. Also, I think Mumbo's new "factory" could benefit from a Pink Floyd Animals vintage album art makeover. Just a thought!
You could always grab some water bottles and turn that dirt at the bottom of the pond into mud. It will still stand out but I think mud blends better with the tuff/gravel combo. You could also chuck some andesite in there, it's a good bridge between those two.
6:06 What about using gray concrete powder for ash? 21:56 You could maybe do a swing by the pond or a zip line over it, so kids can jump from it into the pond.
I mean. Just by making an entrance (a high tower?)and making the stronghold all connected Will be a major improvment. Would be cool to make it to a minigame. A maze full of traps with like 3 keys to open the endportal!
Did you know that bonfires are transparent blocks so beacons can shine through them? You may not like the beacon bacon on the bonfire look, but you can combine the things.
On the pond, try mossy stone in the water. Specifically the north side of the pond. Then sprinkle around some bone meal on the north side and center so it shows some veggies moving in the water. Of course if you are in Australia it would be the south, not the north.
Looking good Beef. I'd be tempted to make a small cut from the pond to the river with unlit campfires as a makeshift bridge. It'd tie it into the surrounding landscape much better.
I had seen baby zombies and baby drowned glitch out on other hermits' videos. Now that I saw it's happening with endermen, i wonder what else is glitchy. I'd love to see a wigged out ravager or something!
I think it'd be really cool to assign like a mini block pallet to each room type so later when it's done you can tell what it used to be even if it looks completely different.
Very much looking forward to the stronghold remodel! For the pond, What if you tried the new pale moss instead of the gravel? And or added some mud blocks? Also, could make a little stream using stairs connecting the river to the pond 🤷♂️
What if the geode inspired the theme for the rest of the stronghold? Like, maybe the people who once inhabited it heavily used the amethyst from the geode as decoration. Purple is also closely associated with Nether portals and enchanting, so maybe those crystals have some magical property that led them to be used around the portal room and libraries especially? (The buds also give off light, so they could be a flameless light source for the halls!)
For the geode in the stronghold, have a look at the series Stranger Things, what is stored underneath a certain building (trying not to spoil) might give some good inspiration. Ps the well in the previous episode looked a bit dark at the bottom, some lychen there might help
I love the energy of Beef's videos lately! It's like he's just going about his day and bringing us along for the ride, which I really enjoy.
Well, he doesn't have a neighbor bothering him anymore so… more time to relax on his tasks also
Right? When I see a new beef or bdubs video, I hold off till the house is quiet and I can cozy up with my coffee and enjoy
These most recent vids have a very Life In The Woods-esque feel to me, which I am thoroughly enjoying.
It's reminding me of TFC's videos where we really felt like we were along for the ride and not just watching a production. But I'm also recognizing the production work is beautiful!
@@elisewebb9914 woven in seemlessly. Agree
It's so nice of you to give Etho a chance to fix the Redstone since you were the one that taught him everything he knows about it
Yessssss thank you!!!
Why I enjoy Beef’s videos so much.
1. I’m in my 40s and Beef’s sense of humor is very similar to mine. (Seinfeld stuff for example)

Beef, the stronghold clearly only needs one thing: a cafeteria. The rest is optional. :^)
Beef's got that new dad "Shhh, the baby's sleeping" vibe now, and I love it!
Ooops, sorry, shhh.. :D
The beacon removal was so satisfying. Thank you for the overhead view

with hungry hermits in it could be crazy
Absolutely! Beef gets to farm all he wants!
And more cooking with Etho!
I'd say team canada but idk how dedicated Pause would be
They should play Vintage Story instead
@@StylishHobo Etho said not quite yet, he wants more of the game to be finished/polished first.

19:14 Pearl I think is the one selling lily pads.
Been loving your energy this season, Beef! Keep up the great work❤
I believe it's either pearl or Gem that are selling lily pads
You can add grass and such to the pond and maby let the water fron the river in and make a lill bridge over it! It's realy rwaly good to see you back man and congrats on the new addition to the family! Keep up the awsome work!!

Dripleaf for the pond. Then shrubbery-ate the edges, grass, tall grass, azalea bushes, flowers. Stuff that vanilla Minecraft only does in lush caves.
20:18 I misheard this part of the video and thought Beef referred to that group of green explosive mobs as a "parody" of creepers... Which I kind of love, honestly! Captainsparklez' parody song being so influential in the Minecraft world that it changes the collective word used by players is a fun thought :D
11:45 another option, a hidden exit, a bolt-hole for whoever occupied the Stronghold if things got a little too dicey.
I might recommend that when you are doing really short/young trees, then you could use fences/walls instead of the thickness of a full wood block.
Whoohooo Beef upload! One of my immediate thoughts was the labyrinth of Daedalus from the greek myths! The long spindly corridors reminded me of it, and for his work space could be a nice main space to store things/supplies can’t wait what you make of it
Beef's episodes win the "best video to pair with morning coffee" award 100% if they'd ever have one.

I can't get over the hilarious aspect that your bio-looking farm is secretely a mass production underground empire. :-D

The Stronghold needs a barracks armory, kitchen, dining hall, lavatory among other things. Just my thoughts, looking forward to seeing what you do.
I remember you breakjng open the wool gift boxes in Mindcrack. Those were fun.

Season 4 was my first season and I was very interested in your No Man’s Sky base. I really appreciate the call back ❤️
You should do a secret Santa thing next year, but fill a dispenser/dropper with your name so everyone on the server just gets you a present
I know there are so many funny names for groups of specific animals, but today I learned that a group of creepers is called a "party."
The stronghold project has me intrigued, I can't wait to see where you'll take it
That cave in the 2nd library would be PERFECT for a secret "Rogues Guild" Entrance... like in Skyrim but much larger the dinky guilds cave.
Thanks for the idea for the trees I stole it from my world and it looks awesome
Beef--- I have no doubt that you're going to turn that stronghold into something amazing. I can't wait to see what you do with it. 😊

Making the stronghold seem like an old dilapidated lab that was used to test different unimaginable experiments, would really cool
Hi Beef. Your videos are always a refreshing joy to my day. I love your build style and can't wait to see where you take the stronghold!
You should let the river have a tiny waterfall into the pond! It’d be so cute!
I don't know about lily pads specifically, but False has a river service and puts things like lily pads and cattails, various plants, and she even added a dragonfly for Keralis.
I like the idea of renovating a stronghold. The room you made the nether portal would make a perfect great hall with trophy banners and animal heads
Excited to see what you do with the stronghold Beef. I have one on my server that I’d like to remodel so I’ll be watching yo get some inspiration. Your videos have that old Let’s Play vibe that I love. ❤
For the firepit to have a more ash color texture, pale moss carpet or block would be an excellent choice
That's one serene looking pond!
I think the stronghold room at 10:38 is supposed to be a mob farm, or at least a hint to mob farming mechanics.
I see a Beef video, i click

That intro totally gave me Harvest Moon on the SNES vibes.
dunno why, when i heard the bark at the start, it felt like i was about to hear "hellloooo ladies and gents, welcome back to far lands or bust!"
