    Prestonburg isn't only a place where people know one another; a lot of people in town are related to one another. This is a frustrating case, and it seems clear that there were a lot of shenanigans going on, with some prominent people in the community knowing a lot more than they'll say.

    In Amber's case the FBI needs to take over the case. Clearly there's a conflict of interest among those investigating it & those present at the dentist's house that night. With such a long list of evidence to be tested in such a small community they are either completely overwhelmed & require assistance in processing or they are stalling for whatever reason.
    I never realized if you are ever connected in the commission of a serious crime you can just refuse to talk to police about it they conduct their investigation. It's obvious with the multiple phone calls McKinney made prior to calling 911 regarding Amber's murder & especially the people he called & their positions within the community there is a lot more to this case & there's an opportunity to control the narrative. This is why local law enforcement has a conflict of interest & the FBI should be conducting it instead.

    • @EinsteinsHair
      @EinsteinsHair 6 місяців тому +1

      The FBI investigates federal crimes. They help local law enforcement if local LE asks them. They are not going to ask in this case. If some pressure was put on the state police, say the Governor asked, I believe the state police could investigate the local department, and open their own investigation of a crime. Possibly, an interdepartmental task force, and they could ask for FBI help.

      I moved here from Idaho and although theres a good ole boy network there and preferential treatment etc. nothing like this would ever happen. It makes no sense for anyone to help cover for him because hes going down for it. Unless he has dirt on those helping him and he threatened to take them with him. If thats the case the case then he will roll on them anyways. He looks like one of the rich dads from 80s comedies. Sad man.

      Well, we all know who killed Crystal and Tommy, just waiting for justice. Poor Ms. Sherry ontop of being utterly heartbroken, she must have been absolutely terrified that they would come after her or any of her loved one's next. The Houcks family are all cold hearted monsters! I'm so happy she finally won visitation rights to see her grandbaby after almost a whole decade. It's beyond wrong and extremely sad how the courts have treated Sherry all these years. I hope Crystal's family finally recieves the long awaited answers and justice they've desperately deserved for so many years now that those three demons have been charged and arrested for her murder.

    I was born, raised & still living in a small Kentucky community. I don’t know anyone involved in these cases but you can bet your arse that there are people who know exactly what happened, why & the people responsible. Most of the time, these kinds of coverups are to protect the higher-ups (or the things they’ve done that they’ll do ANYTHING to hide). Crimes like these definitely should be investigated by outside agencies that have zero ties to the people/community involved…if there is such an agency. 🥺

    IMO, Officer Ellis was getting too close to knowing some "business" between Brooks and Nick!!. Ellis was a drug officer with a canine!! Don't forget that fact!!! I think that Nick either "did the deed" or had "someone else do the deed" on Ellis!!! Officer Ellis was ambushed!!! If you think about it, those cut brances found on the exit ramp, were not native to that area, and WHO has access to "trucks" etc to hual them there. You guessed it!!! BH. I ALSO think that Nick himself Offed Tommy. ,(and maybe had one of the Lawsons' involved). And I also think that Crystal found out a "lill too much". She did take care of the financiall end of it. As far as Crystals dad, Tommy, he was finding out too much!! That's why HE was murdered. The only link that I can think of for the Netherlands, is maybe the daughter knew something, and the mom was colateral damage. The only other link was the mom was a special needs teacher, which Officer Ellis, had a special needs son.(not sure how that ties in though) THIS IS JUST MY OPINION!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Either way, this is HORRIFIC, and all muders (deaths) are tied together, (somehow) and the TRUTH to all these murders WILL come to light!! It's just a matter of time. JUSITCE FOR CRYSTAL, TOMMY, JASON, KATHY & SAMANTHA.... And most of all, SHERRY!!! Studies report that at least 10 to 12 percent of healthcare professionals will develop a substance use disorder during their careers, including at least 1 in 10 physicians, and 1 in 5 nurses.”..

    On Jennifer...I recently saw a "copcam" clip where they arrested people for impersonating police officers. One of them was in a black truck. He had lights and different sirens. Civil clothing but a badge he even tried to flash at the officers arresting him. Could be something like that in some cases where they find a car without any sign of struggle where a person gone missing or killed. Or that they stopped to somebody pretending to need help (though perhaps not in this case if witnesses saw her arguing with somebody).

    I am from the same town as Jennifer Bailey. The murder shook the town because stuff like that never happened there. They were rumors about who the murderer was. Several names had been thrown there. Nobody has ever been able to solve the crime. I know I heard that her cousin was also murdered. but I can’t remember if it was before or after the murder of Jennifer Bailey. They do however think their cases were connected.

    Let me give you some details you didn't go over in the Bardstown murders.
    Nick Houck was off duty the night Jason Ellis was murdered. Jason was driving a different vehicle than his usual one that was setup for Figo because it was in the shop. So he's in a different vehicle and without Figo. Jason stayed on duty liner than usual that night because he responded to a last minute domestic violence call. He signed off duty over the radio on his way home. The tree branches placed on that exit as a distraction to ambush Jason were not indigenous to that area and were bright there from somewhere else. Jason and Figo were the drug enforcement for the Bardstown police force.
    Who was off duty and had access to a police radio to know Jason's movements down to the time frame needed to get those branches in place and be waiting on that embankment? I think we all know who.
    Crystal had made statements that she had dirt on Brooks Houk and had evidence hidden in case she needed to use it against him. Nick Houck was fired from the force for interference in the investigation into her disappearance. Evidence related to her was found in the back of his police cruiser. Tommy Ballard, Crystal's dad left no stone unturned in trying to find his daughter. He had stacks and stacks of information he would not turn over to anybody. He was shot in a field adjacent to the bluegrass parkway as he exited his pickup truck to go hunting with his grandson. Crystal's son watched his grandfather die beside him while trying to call his uncle for help. Somebody killed him in front of that child from the parkway. The cops have the gun used to kill Ballard. They bought it online from Nick Houck who was using a fake name to sell it after the murder. They're just waiting on ballistics and he's going down just like his brother. Brooks Houck is currently with another woman named Crystal whom he started seeing soon after Crystal's disappearance. She was arrested previously for going around town taking down the missing posters.

      I'm glad you saw this. I wasn't sure if you would or not. These cases really get to me. I love in KY and have followed them for so long and it's so heartbreaking for these families. Especially the Ballard family. Crystal's dad had a sister who went missing in the 70s. I can't imagine what it was like for him to have his daughter go missing as well. And then he gets murdered in front of his grandson and eventful just knows this is connected to his search for justice for Crystal. But nobody could prove it. Meanwhile the Houck family goes on with their lives and unaffected. Jason Ellis was the one person who I think was smart enough to figure out all misdeeds and honest enough to not turn a blind eye or go along with it. He wanted good things for that community, and they killed him. I think Crystal may have found out what happened to Jason and other wrongdoings of the Houck family, and they killed her.

    Jennifer went to the park that day to meet someone, not to go for a jog. Sam and Edward are involved with distributing drugs, amongst other things. She met up with Sam to buy something, they argued over the price, and they came to an agreement. Sam took her to an alternate location (warehouse) where she could look at the drugs, but she disagreed on the price again. She agreed to sleep with him in exchange for weed and she felt she was getting a bad deal. They argued and Edward showed up because he was supposed to meet them there. Sam saw how annoyed Jennifer was and got scared and nervous about her snitching. He snapped and hit her. She fell down and hit her head and while she was dizzy Sam strangled her while Edward watched. Edward didn't bother stopping him because Sam had a bad temper and he didn't want to be taken down too. They removed her clothes and washed her down to prevent any evidence from being collected and kept her in a freezer until they were ready to dump her. #jenniferleebailey

    For Amber's case I am confused about her mother who died in 1988: you say murdered, but the article clearly saya she died after the bar had closed and she tried to climb out the window?

    • @SouthernGirlCrimeStories
      @SouthernGirlCrimeStories  7 місяців тому +1

      The article does say that, but according to other websites, she was murdered. Here is an excerpt from the Lexington Herald-Leader, "WHO WAS AMBER SPRADLIN? Spradlin was raised by her grandparents after her own mother was murdered when she was young, Martin said. She spent much of her adult life as a caregiver to her grandparents until they died. In the months leading up to her murder, Spradlin had “just started to spread her wings,” Martin said. She’d just bought her first house, got the job at the restaurant, made friends and tried “to start a life.” www.kentucky.com/news/local/crime/article279221224.html
